Chapter 6.5
A/n: From here on out, because a lot of people want to read this story quickly and I deleted that other story I'm going to do a bulk upload of the old chapters and edit them slowly. I've added what I needed too, the bigger part I have left is actual editing and correcting the writing. I will say that those chapters following this one... read at your own risk and KNOW that it's when I first began writing and it's not as good as it could be.
Chapter 7 – Chelsea POV (Show and Tell and The Real Shot and Tell)
I don't understand Nathan, Molly Nathans mate said over their pack link when Jack, Casey and I had everyone for dinner, I understand that Leo is after her, but why would she need so many guards, surely three or four would do when trading off.
Later that night I sat in my room alone, I have to tell them about you three don't I? I asked my wolves. When I first shifted, I wasn't expecting that, Dad had never given me any notice that I was different, I ran into the forest, my bones breaking unnaturally, and after years of training with Leo, I held in every last scream, not wanting to draw attention to myself out there. Whatever was happening to me I thought, was never ending because when I was finally in different form, I went back to being human, only for the painful process to start all over again, and two individual voices talked me through it.
Aria.
Avena.
My two wolves, I was exhausted, my body drained, why me?I thought sadly, why would Jason keep me now? He couldn't find out about this, you are special, were chosen for a reason child, Aria told me. And just when I thought the pain was over, it started all over again, this time the pain excruciating, the sun was coming up but that was all I saw until I heard dad calling me, his hand shaking my naked form awake as well.
.
.
Dad would joke that whoever gave me away, abandoned me the way they did probably didn't realize the undiscovered gem that they idiotically threw away.
After years of training, figuring out my extra talents that came with my wolves, I felt ease with them around, a peace I enjoyed. Physically I had a dancers body, long legs, strong and nicely shaped feet, delicate hands, not many curves and my chest area was a bit lacking and small but I was okay with that. My appearance could and did confuse many. The Alpha of the pack near us didn't know about my strength, after a lot of training with Jack and Casey, dad was sure along with them that I would be a target of many wolves found out, especially alpha's was because when they mated with me they would receive some of my strength and my gifts.
At first I didn't understand why dad had required more training after the initial sessions with Lux, but that became apparent when Jack and Casey told me what my life would be like when or if I ever went public about the color of my wolf and that was when no one else knew I had three wolves to begin with. I had never heard my third wolf, I felt her presence, but I only ever heard Aria and Avena. I never shifted into Avena or third wolf when I was around Jack and Casey, and I never let on that I had extra abilities, either. As far as they knew, Leo was after me and I was a white wolf, rare and hunted by other were-shifters, vampires and human hunters.
Now though, I have to tell them, I told my wolves, I can't ask them to guard me, put their lives on the line without being honest about why.
It is time now, you can tell them, but you still need to be selective in whom you decide to reveal your secrets too child, Avena answered and so the next day, I had Jack and Casey invite their brothers, Nathan and Ray, their mates Molly and Andrea, Jamie – Molly's little brother – Noah, Lukas, Violet and Alex to the estate to show them what they were really signing up for.
.
.
"So I know that we've been very tightlipped about just why I needed protection. Unlike most wolves I didn't shift when I was 16 years old, I shifted early and we – Jack, Casey and Dad – realized I was a bit different, which is why besides the reasons we've already given you when you were hired, I need protection," I said looking at Noah, Alex, Lucas and Violet. The three nodded with blank faces, deciding to shift into my wolf Aria I hear gasps that not only was I a white wolf but my eyes was aqua."Wow, Chelsea your Wolf is beautiful!" Knowing that the group had missed the big fact, my clothes hadn't shred when I shifted. Getting ready to shock them once again I shifted back to my human self, big smile on my face.
"My Goddess"
"Chelsea your dressed!"
"Her clothes weren't shredded," I heard Molly blurt right out.
"How?"
"I... oh..."
I saw the new group of people begin to watch me strangely, probably remembering that we had came to the estate because I wanted to share my secrets with them but would only do so on my property. Not the hotel we were living at the moment. The new guards were the ones with the most pensive facial expression... Noah trying hard to put the pieces together but missing details he now realized when I decided to listen in on his inner thoughts. I have to say though he had the perfect call your bluff face.
"The first time she shifted her dad found her the next day in the woods naked," Casey bit the bullet and began the story.
"When we had tried showing her hot to shift mid-jump she shifted with her clothes on they did not get torn to shreds. Then going back to her human self she was in her clothes."
"How though?" Violet asked.
"That is just... so amazing... convenient." I just shrugged, because this wasn't really the most shocking thing they'd all be seeing tonight.
"Lucky." Lucas the ever protective mate blurted out "oh but if you had that I'd miss not seeing you naked when you shifted." Everyone starring at him incredulously then started laughing, his over pleasing tone not helping. "Wait I didn't mean it the way it sounded."
"Really? How did you mean it then... you don't like seeing me naked?"
"No I do- I- I just..." he floundered, whilst we all chuckled at his failed attempt of removing her pout. Needing to get back on track, Jack and Casey both cleared their throats. So how do I do it? I think about shifting with clothes and then I do.... I say while simultaneously shrugging. Only my response was said with my mind to all the others. Something I shouldn't be able to do, because I wasn't a part of their pack.
"Holy No!"
"Wait did you say that?" Molly asked. "We aren't in a Pack... only pack members share a mind link..." hmm... she states the obvious. No wonder they wanted four or more up close security for her, she's a damn target to any old power hungry wolf... I heard Noah say.
"So yeah I can read minds, as well as answer you in your mind. I can do it whether or not you try to block me, the upside of this is that I can turn it off thank Goddess."
"What do you mean off?"
"Well basically I don't hear them all the time I just have to focus and I can hear you. For example I can even read Helen's mind, although she is not here next to me. Think of it as a mental cell phone, I can block you out but you can't do that we've learned," I say pointing at Jack and Casey.
"Goddess!! Can you fly too?" Nathan asked jokingly causing everyone to chuckle and the rise on tone. I looked to Jack and mind linked him should I show the rest??
Are they afraid of you? He asked knowing I could search their minds, quickly doing so I knew they weren't No they aren't frightened...Okay tell them the rest.
"I'm not a bird. Nor do I have wings. I can move things... and levitate, but it's not powerful, I have to work to get better at the different things," I answered as honest as I could and that was the truth. I could do different things, had abilities but without practice they were useless to an extent.
As if Ray sensed that show and tell was over he came closer pulling his mate alone. "Well we have more last minute packing to do so were gonna head out okay guys..."
"Yeah us too," said Nathan, leaving Casey, Jack, Jamie, Alex, Noah, Lucas and Violet watching them as they left.
"Jamie you coming?" His sister asked probably when she realized that he hadn't followed her. Make him stay Aria instructed and I was going to answer when he replied on his own. "Nah, I'm gonna stay with Chelsea. I've already finished packing up and I still have homework to complete since we arrive on Saturday and then we have that dinner on Sunday, so I don't want to not have it somewhat completed before we fly tomorrow." Molly's gaze shifted to me so I just nodded my head to show that I was fine with it. We watched as they left and once their cars were out of the driveway, Jamie and I turn to face the rest. "Are you two mates?" Violet blurted out. "No," we said at the same time. Jack cocked his head looking or most likely expecting an explanation. So I thought I should start with the truth "not sure, my wolves wanted him to stay." Then Jamie said, "My wolf told me I should stay near her; we aren't mates though."
I knew once again I had to continue but with that hurdle I wanted show and tell to be over.
.
.
Jack and Casey. They truly meant the world to me, not because of how they were my guards, taking their jobs seriously above and beyond, but they reminded me of the family from one of the videos Leo would show me. They didn't just treat me like an employer or trainee, I saw them as older brothers, but now they'd know that I had lied to them since the beginning. That was what I hated but, everyone was here now, and going to be on the same boat of knowledge and I was going to add a little more information to roughen the waters. I pushed my nerves aside, "there's more to tell."
"What?" Jack and Casey said together each shooting glances at the other and settling on me. "I have three wolves, well two and the third is a combination, I think I don't hear her, or well she doesn't speak to me, never has." No one said a word so I knew or well wanted to push through and continue. I shifted into my wolf Aria, then back to my human self, before quickly shifting into Avena.
Avena was identical to Aria except for one noticeable physical feature, her eyes. While Aria had aqua colored eyes, Avena had royal blue/purple colored eyes. I shifted back to my human before finally shifting into my third wolf, or my combo wolf. My combination wolf was physically different from both Aria and Avena, she had one eye color from Aria and Avena and instead of being pure white I had areas of black fur.
"Three wolves? That's different I've never heard of anything like that." Whispered Noah. Not sure how to continue at the moment I just shrugged and kept my facial expression as neutral as possible.
Saving the most important -Jack and Casey- for last I turned to Jamie, he had this look I couldn't quite understand. Eyes wide, jaw the same- like he was trying to catch flies- then he shut it. He looked proud of me, honored but that couldn't be right and I guess the final facial emotion I read could be considered understanding. I shook my head in an attempt to clear it; I must have been reading him wrong. I look to Jack, then Casey and instead of finding looks of disappointment or betrayal for hiding my new talents, I found nothing.
Just blank faces.
They were looking at me while also shooting side glances to Noah, Alex and now Lucas. They were confused. "Why have you never said anything?" Casey finally asked, "My wolves told me not to share about having more than one, said I would tell you at a later time. I guess this is later." Looking at their reactions I wanted to know something. "Are you four still interested in being part of the security detail?" I questioned. I swore at this point that it would be Violet to answer me because she just could not help herself when she was excited. "Are you kidding us? We need to now more than ever," Noah spoke.
I guess in my head I kept waiting for my supernatural abilities to drive people away.
I could completely understand now why my parents hadn't kept me. I told you that they would stand behind you Chelsea, you're special and these people recognize it too said Avena. Such a know it all Aria chimed in, I took a deep breath, just one more thing left I thought to myself.
Tell them not to leave this property and tell Jamie to make sure that he stays at least 12 feet near you for this Avena thought. It will be quicker to recover with him around. Yes much quicker... said Aria "For this next part call no one, Jamie stay at least 12 feet near me at all times," I said while walking over to jack and asked him for his gun. I wasn't afraid of what I was about to do. My father the doctor hated the idea of guns but when we hired Jack and Casey they explained the only way to slow or stop –meaning kill- a werewolf would be silver bullets laced with wolfs bane.
Outsiders had it so wrong; we weren't vicious killers that shifted on full moon. As he handed me the gun I listened in on his thoughts why does she need a gun? We've showed her how to use them, but what was she going to do? She knew those bullets had been laced, right? Why does she need my gun? Maybe she can manipulate the elements of metal... or can dismantle it with her mind...Well he positively had it wrong on all counts I thought to myself... I took the gun quickly taking a step back, held the handle, turned the gun to my chest and pulled the trigger. I heard screaming but that immediately stopped, and then there was nothing but blackness.
