AN: Hey thanks everyone for voting and reading, I love reading your comments!! I know everyone loves the longer chapters but it takes me some time to type it up and then I have to go do real life things... SO I tend to post whatever I type up in a certain amount of time. So If I only have an hour to type I post what I have after that hour. The upside of doing that is I update frequently instead of waiting a week for a long chapter you guys get shorter ones.

See ya at the bottom :)

Chapter Twenty-Four- Awkward Silence... Please? (Gabe's POV)

After Chelsea walked away things were quiet until everyone was introduced and Jamie's brother in law asked, "Beta Colt, how could you be okay with any of this? You might not have raised Chelsea but that girl is your blood.

You could cut the tension with a knife right then.

Jay began growling and a werewolf nurse came to us, "Would you all like to move somewhere more private?"

I was hoping that everyone would decline because if I thought this couldn't be anymore awkward, I was wrong.

A smaller room, with all of us in it couldn't be a wise move.

Of course luck was definitely not on my side today, shockingly dad wasn't the one who agreed, it was my mother.

"Okay, follow me," the nurse replied, showing us to a private area.

"Jack questioned my father point blank, "What were you hoping to accomplish?" my father growled. So we are not going to ignore the elephant in the room. Of course, just perfect.

"Your leader," he spat not calling Chelsea by her given name, saying the word like  it was a dirty thing "coming here has thrown a fucking wrench in plans that were nearly 25 years in the making!"

Like that was wall this was about.

"So let me get this straight you get to have your true mate, but your son has to settle and give up his?" said Violet, she had balls and reminded me greatly of my mother, never sugar coating anything.

Ignoring her question my dad asked one of his own again, "Why didn't her previous pack not warn us that she was a white wolf?" ahh... getting to his true concern.

Immediately Chelsea's pack growled, then answered. "She never shifted around any other wolves, but the people you see here in this room right now."

"Have you known her all her life?" a weird look passed across his face, and then instantly went back to being blank.

"No we met when she shifted."

"How did the human know to call you, was he aware of our kind previously? I mean she's been with him since he was a baby, how did he adopt a wolf baby?" the thing was while sometimes parents with wolf children were killed the children would go to a werewolf group home, were if you were unable to have a child you could adopt from there. They never however let humans adopt werewolf children.

"He didn't adopt Chelsea as a baby-"

"But the records?" my mom spoke.

"Chelsea went from home to home until she was 11 years old, then she was adopted by her father Jason." Said Casey.

"Why do the records say differently?" I asked.

"Jason didn't want that following her around, after a while he noticed that when people assumed she had been with him for a while she never corrected them, he didn't want her records about her past ot follow her around so he had it taken care of," he finished.

"She's a strong fighter," my dad said nonchalantly.

"Well it was not hard training Chelsea, she was home schooled, had private instructors for all activities. By the time we got our hands on Chelsea she was already training and leveled in different forms of martial arts," Casey explained.

"How did her adoptive father react to her being a wolf," I wondered out loud.

Jack and Casey laughed first then Casey answered, "It didn't matter, a father loves his daughter no matter what, or so I would think." I'm sure that was a blow at Jay.

"She tried to keep it a secret at first, but that only lasted a couple days, week if I remember correctly..."

"So you guys are her guards, not in her pack?" My father questioned, I knew what he was doing.

"We are her family. Yes we protect her but Chelsea doesn't treat us like we are beneath her. You guys keep instigating problems with her; honestly she is the easiest person to be around. She's smart, quiet and very generous like her father Jason." Another blow at Jay...

"She isn't some spoiled entitled type of teenager, Chelsea doesn't really shop, and she's an amazing cook...."

"Are we really listening to this bullshit? She killed my daughter! Then denied Samuel seeing his own mate," Rian sobbed.

"Chelsea didn't deny Sam seeing his mate," said Molly.

"As you all know she's a white wolf, they have a special energy... the smart choice would be Chelsea going in there. Don't let your pride get in the way of what's best for your mate. I'm his sister; he's the only blood family I've got..." staring Sam down.

"You think it was easy saying she should go? If anything I, me should be the one to go. But I'm here instead no matter how much it kills me," still looking at Sam.

"My brother is much more important than your pride Sam," her voice filled with sadness.

We were all quiet for some time, the tension that had gone away was quickly returning.

My father was glaring at Chelsea's family, while Andrew, Ethan and Scarlet were glaring at me. Now wasn't the time for the discussion I know they all wanted to have, but I wasn't going to let them drag me back in with guilt. They were angry that I stepped out on the family business and as pack Alpha, I know they encouraged Maggie to attack Chelsea.

It was silent; the sound that came wasn't what I was expecting.

Molly doubled over in laughter, laughing so hard that she was crying and her mate unsure of what was going on.

"Is she going into hysterics?" I asked no one in particular, then looked at mom this was her area of specialty.

"Oh God!" she continued laughing, choking out the words.

"Molly, baby?" her mate asked her. "Are you okay?" he asked cautiously.

"Yeah," she chortled.

"Ch-Chelsea just mind linked me-"

"Is Jamie okay?" my brother interjected, not letting her finish.

"Yeah I was asking her repeatedly about Jamie since a doctor hasn't come back to let us know anything..." she was still laughing sporadically, trying to catch her breath, "She showed me Jamie and her with Violet in their pole fitness class. I didn't know he even signed up."

As soon as she finished her mate, Violet Jack and Casey began laughing, I kept my face blank because what I learned today about Chelsea was she tried to help those around her, always helping or giving them ways out of problems if they take it smartly. I knew that my mate probably sent that memory over to Molly because she didn't want Molly to be sad, which worked Molly was laughing despite the situation we were in.

Sam however just growled angrily, seriously what was his problem and I guess that Molly thought the same thing except unlike me she wasn't going to ignore it, "What is your problem with Chelsea?" Annoyance clear in her voice.

"He ignored me all day to go to a Pole Dance class with Chelsea!" Turning to me he asked, "How does this not bother you bro?"

"Well, one I jumped to conclusions once already today and that messed everything up so I'm not going to read anything into what she spent doing today." I said ignoring my moms smile.

"Second, Molly just nearly died from laughter-" I was cut off by her growling mate probably upset at hearing the words 'Molly' and 'died,' in the same sentence, rolling my eyes I continued.

"I doubt anything remotely scandalous or sexy happened with the way she just laughed."

"Still-" Sam began.

"How many friends do you have?" Molly asked Sam.

"Maybe 50 close friends, 10 really close ones, why does that matter?"

"My brother has never had a single one, our pack judged him so much, he was alienated. He didn't grow up as the Alphas son, our pack didn't have to accept him and they didn't... He mostly spent all his time with studying or us. Chelsea is really his first and only friend, she doesn't judge him, treats him like he should be treated, no matter his sexual orientation, stop-twisting things. Making them look like more than they actually are..." she said shaking her head.

Still not letting this, whatever it was go "Then why wont she let me move into her house to be with my mate? If he wont leave her and she doesn't let me come?" I've never known Sam to be this needy or jealous.

"She doesn't trust you" said Violet in a kind of how are you not understanding this tone, I glanced around and saw my mother just shaking her head.

After she said that he remained quiet and I promised myself that I would speak to him later, I let myself jump to conclusion, went and did something so stupid that caused everything that happened today and I knew that.

If I had just stayed away from Maggie and knocked on Chelsea's door, Maggie might have just let me go instead of thinking that she was doing the right thing because I wanted out.

An hour passed with us just waiting, not speaking but Andrea and Ray, two more people in Chelsea's little pack went for tea and drinks for their pack, and my mother who was the only one who seemed to just want to make peace between everyone.

Chelsea hadn't returned, and the tension that had been going and coming was definitely coming back full force now, every once in a while Rian would sob and Jay would try to calm her down but for the most part it was silent. Too silent.

I kept myself still just watching in Molly's direction, not pointedly gazing at her but I realized that after the message about them going to a pole dancing class- hot by the way- that Molly was not worried. It was as if she knew that without a doubt, her brother was out of the woods and was 100% going to live.

My attention to details was why I was Il Principe, yeah it goes from oldest to youngest and I was oldest but out of all my siblings I was the one that held the natural skills to be successful.

If my brother was paying attention he would have stopped questioning her every 10 minutes, he would have noticed that her demeanor was off. Even if Chelsea was giving her encouraging updates, Molly still wasn't acting right. He's in surgery, things could go wrong, unless he was safely out of surgery, talking to her... she should have been a bit worried like Sam was. Molly was acting as if no matter what she knew Jamie would be okay.

It reminded me of the car ride with Chelsea, everyone in her pack was worried about Jamie, but they didn't really seem to want to rush Chelsea to the hospital to the nearest MRI machine as I had been.

I was deep in thought when I heard a knock at the door.
