EPILOGUE

SEVEN YEARS LATER

Violetta was rushing around making sure everyone was packed to go stay overnight. Extra clothes for the drive, their lovies, and snacks that they could open for themselves.

"What about the extra set of keys? We don't want another California trip fiasco," Violetta said, looking around and saw the extra keys on the key rack near the kitchen.

"Why do you always have to bring that up before every trip?" León questioned, putting Amelia on the ground. The one year crawled away, playing with a stray plastic block she found.

"Because it's a good example of why we should always bring the set of spare keys," Violetta smiled, patting León's chest. León rolled his eyes in response, and Violetta reached over and grabbed the keys, putting them safely in her jacket pocket.

The both of them turned around when they heard giggling. Their two five year old twins were giggling, pointing above their parents. Violetta and León looked above them, and saw a mistletoe hanging above the two of them.

"Daddy, you have to kiss mommy!" Nadia told her parents, giggling with her twin sister. "You're under the mistletoe!"

León smiled at his wife before pulling her closer by her waist. Violetta smiled, pulling León into a small sweet kiss. They laughed when they pulled away, as the twins screamed and ran away saying, "ew!"

"We walked in to your children running and screaming, now I realize why."

Violetta rolled her eyes, "you're the two that insisted that this mistletoe was hung up." Camila smiled in response, and Federico shrugged.

"Why not have a reminder on how you two started?" Federico said, picking up his goddaughter from where she was sitting. "Are you guys almost ready? Ludmila is outside, and she's a very impatient pregnant woman."

"Violetta needed to find the extra set of-"

"Ah! We can't have another California trip fiasco," Camila interrupted, León groaned.

"That was one time!"

"And a thousand miles away from home, and you had to lock the keys in the car," Violetta responded. "But we need to put the kids in the car, and we'll be ready to head out."

"Great. I told Mary and Thomas that we have a surprise for Emily when we get there," Federico told Violetta. It was six years ago, when Emily's adopted parents told Emily the truth, at age nine, and they asked Federico and Violetta if they wanted to meet their daughter. It became a tradition to visit around Christmas, and Mary and Thomas treated Federico and Violetta like family, and their friends.

Violetta remembered meeting Mary and Thomas for the first time at the beginning of the adoption process. They were the perfect fit to raise her and Federico's daughter. And they wanted the adoption to be open, in case the birth parents wanted to be in their child's life. Emily was happy to have her birth parents in her life, but wouldn't trade her parents for anyone else in the world.

Violetta carried Amelia outside, and the twins were already buckled in their seats, and Violetta climbed into the backseat to buckle Amelia in her car seat. When she stepped outside, León was behind her, holding an old plastic mistletoe above them. He tapped a finger against his lips, Violetta smiled, and pressed a kiss against his lips.

"I can't believe you kept that all these years," Violetta told León as they pulled away from one another.

"It's plastic, and it led us to our very first kiss," León smiled. Violetta smiled at him, I'm so in love with him, she thought.

⛄️❄️🎄🎁

I really hope you guys liked this story.

And I'm already in the Christmas spirit!

Also, a little bit more history of Federico and Violetta's daughter. I did mention that the adopted parents of their daughter send them pictures every once in awhile.

Honest thoughts?
