Natsu's Pov

Erza and Mira made up and made a promise to not keep secrets that important from each other ever again. Erza also apologized to me and Luce for disrespecting my magic and my mate although it was indirectly and also to my dad by praying at a shrine I made when I was 13 for him. After all of that, the guild went back to normal and Luce and Erza became new friends, since this is the first time them being friends it's going to take a while for them to get acquainted with each other. Luce and I decided to go find a job since there wasn't anything to do, and this would be Luce's first job as a guild member. To celebrate Happy went to the bar and got Luce her favorite drink. Looking at the quest board I didn't see anything that interest me, there were some cleaning jobs, stripping, cosplaying, and even being a camgirl.  

Even though I'd love to see Luce in a maid outfit I don't want anyone else to. The stripping job would be interesting to someone else also it's a female strip club. Luce seemed to have found something though I don't think she likes what she picked, her face had a hard frown and a wrinkle in her brows. " Natsu I think we should take this one, I have a feeling something isn't right. I know it's a long shot but something tells me this is bad. Do you mind if we go check this out?" She handed me the mission and as I was reading it I didn't get a good vibe from it, even the smell was giving me bad vibes. " Yeah sure",  we went to go get the mission approved from Mira and headed out the guild to the train station. Again, getting tickets for the train was easy as Luce is the daughter of the " thing" who made them.

I won't say that he is Luce's dad cause no parent does that to their child and still deserve to be called a parent. When we arrived at the place where the job was sent from I was surprised and kind of weirded out. The people introduced themselves as the Melons, but I wasn't paying much attention to what they were saying but more to the smell of them and the house. As we were leaving the house I quickly scanned the other rooms, there were no other furniture or other house accessories. No pictures, no beds, no couches, or even rugs even though the house has hardwood floors. Something didn't feel right even when we were in the house.  Anyway, when Lucce explained the job to me again, she also told me her plan to get inside the mansion. Her plan was a good one however, I know for sure that I don't want anyone to see her in a maid outfit. 

We decided to go with it since Luce promised me a secret surprise tonight when we get back home. The plan Luce came up with didn't work because the owner didn't like the way she looked and even called her "ugly", even though countless people have told Luce that she was beautiful, even more than that they've cat called her multiple times even though I've told them to back off. We ended up improvising the plan and ended up finding the book we were looking for. Luce looked at the book for a few seconds and then told me to hold off Everlue and his maids while she figured something out. 

Lucy's Pov 

This book "Daybreak" was written by one of my favorite authors my mom used to read to me before bed. I even got to meet him when I was a kid as well, as well as his son. I never wondered what happened to him when I had heard that his father had passed. Kaby, who is the son, loved his dad dearly and spent countless hours with him writing his own books and contributing ideas for his dad's book. Putting on my speed reading glasses I read the book and then read it again. I knew that something was weird with this book, it's not even the real intent of the book! I took off my glasses and read the first two pages and they were totally different than when I had them on. Without the glasses, this book sounded like a  very boring and bragging thing, not even worthy of being called a book.

 With the glasses was an entirely different thing that I knew that Mr. Melon would need to see if my deduction was correct. I went back to where Natsu and Happy were only to find that Mr. Everlue and two other people smashed into a wall. " Natsu I know what's going on, we need to get back to  Mr. Melon if you want to get your surprise tonight. " I say kind of huskily.  While walking back to the mansion, I explained everything to Natsu and Happy. Natsu mentioned that he also had a weird feeling in the house and that he had found a file and something else while fighting Everlue. " That bastard stole everything from a family by blackmailing someone, when they refused he took everything that family-owned for himself. That library that we were in was originally theirs, even that mansion is theirs! And I'll bet that you can guess who that family is since you said you have everything figured out."

We stopped by the mayor's office and asked for the rest of the official file and explained what happened to the mayor. He created a  new file and told us that all we needed now was the original family's signature for the transaction to be complete. We went back to the mansion where the mission was sent and knocked on the door. When the Melons let us in we informed them that we had not completed the job, but had a good reason not to. We knew that this wasn't really their house and asked if they wanted to know why and who caused this to happen to them. We placed both the book and the file on the table and told them to decide what to do with the info bomb we gave them. Since we had not done what the job required us to do, we told them we would not be receiving the payment they said they would pay.  We wished them a good day and started on the way home.

The train ride was very long for Natsu, asking every few minutes were we home yet. I told Natsu to head home and get a bath started while I went to go get some groceries and report back to Mira how the job went. He gladly started his walk after fixing his...... problem. I walked with Happy to the guild when he asked if he could spend the night at Wendy's so they could watch the new Lion King that just came out. "Sure as long as you remember to eat your veggies and brush your teeth before you go to bed okay?"   I'm giving Natsu a surprise for bringing me to the guild so we'll be up for a while. After making sure that Happy got to Wendy safely, I headed to the market and got some of Natsu's favorite foods. When reaching for a few steaks I noticed that my mark started glowing a deep dark red with a gold shimmer.

Out from the fire came a dragon that was the same color as the flames, meaning that my mate was turned on, and would soon be getting to me if I don't hurry! Knowing that Natsu would never let anyone see me like that and also not wanting people to recognize what was going on, I quickly checked out and went to run one more errand before rushing home. I put the food in the oven on low so it wouldn't burn even if we took a long time in the bath. Walking into the bathroom, I was in for the hottest thing I've ever seen. Natsu in the bath with candles lit and soft music, boy o boy will this be the death of me?
