Chapter 5: Layden's Lesson

3rd Person's POV~~

Jayden's Dream~~

"Thank you for letting me know, sir." Jayden said, a hand over her heart, that throbbed with pain and guilt.

Cut the "sir", my dear. Why are you pained, as so shown by how vigorously your heart is beating?

Jayden wished she didn't hear his silky, yet gruff voice, and bit her lip,"It's nothing, I just know I might drag my twin into this."

Oh, don't fret about her, my young one. She will be taken care of by two of my associates. Don't worry, she will be fine, for young Layden has the protection of the bane of my existence, a Fairy.

Jayden nodded her head,"Thank you for understanding."

Her dream slowly faded away, leavig Jayden with the last words; It's not understanding, it's unwaveringly painful, but I must, to keep you in my grasp.

~~~
Jayden jolted up on Lapras, scaring the young Water/Ice type. She put a hand to her forehead, and felt herself sweating. She fell back against her neck, Lapras swinging her head around to say a small,"La..." While nudging her, telling Jayden they were at Castellia City.
Jayden nodded and got up, stretching her arms and grabbing the side of the dock, pulling herself up and rolling onto the wood. She held a hand out to Lapras, who nudged her head into it,"Thanks Lapras." She said, patting her, before standing up, and watching the Pokemon disappear under the water, probably already waiting for the whistle to call her.
Jayden walked into the busy city, already turning and heading towards the sewers. She walked down the stairs onto the pier, and walked past a group of tourists, and down the stairs, moving onto the sewer entrance.
She sighed and walked in, no one following her movements. It was incredibly cold, a murky darkness of sorts, and just plain awful. Good. That's why no one came here.
Slowly, Jayden made her way down the stairs, and up a different set, walking across the metal walkway. Grimer, upon Grimer got in her path, but she scared them off every time.
Sighing, she made her way into the cave system beneath the city, unknown to those above it, and the boulder blocking the way behind her, slowly made it's way shut, making the cave dark, the only thing seen? A pair of glowing eyes.
~
Layden woke up bright and early, exactly 7:30 AM, every morning, always saying the same thing,"Jayden, get up, we need to help the Professor."
No response. No groan of defiance. No noise at all. Just, pure silence. Layden rolled to the other side of her bed, now facing Jayden's. It was empty? Minus a small note.
Layden got up, and read it over. It had some quickly scribbled notes that read;
"Sorry Lay, got a letter that needed me back at Kalos for a bit. Be home soon.
-Jayden"
Sighing, Layden set the note down and released Gardevior, who had a concerned look on her face, Mistress Layden, Jayden and Gallade have left.
'I know, Gardevior, but thank you. She left me a note, saying she was going to Kalos for a bit. Must be a problem with the League.' Layden shrugged, and Gardevior smiled.
Later on, after breakfast made by Mrs. Ketchum, Layden headed to Professor Oak's lab, to be met by a familiar face,"I thought I saw a nerd coming."
"Gary, must I repeat myself and cause you to stand motionless once more, or can I help you Grandfather like I came here to do?" She said, crossing her arms.
Gary smirked,"Gramps asked me to help you today-"
"Absolutely not."
"You have no-"
"I have all say. I run this lab, and funded it with hard earned money from Kalos, where I work beside Professor Sycamore, and have kept this place running properly. Leave. Go pick on Ash or something, but leave me to work here in peace. I'm getting quite sick of you coming around, and attacking me for no apparent reason!" Layden finally snapped, waving her hands around angrily while speaking.
Gary blinked, and shoved his hands in his pockets,"Whatever." He grumbled, and Layden pushed past him, an angered look on her face.
As she entered the lab, she let out a breath, calming herself. She shouldn't have been so rude, but he got on her nerves so easily!
Walking through the lab, she made her way to the back of the lab, going through a new pair of glass sliding doors, out into the bigger Pokemon Pen, as she called it.
She instantly noticed two Pokemon, one of which she couldn't place, for it must not have been native here, and another was a Shiny Ralts.
The other Pokemon was a pure black color, having tufts of fur around it's neck, a poofy tail, and one on top of it's head. The tip of the head-fur was a light blue color, matching it's eyelids, and two small dots above it's eyes. It had light blue "socks" on it's feet, and it was roughly the same size as the Ralts.
They approached Layden, both of them letting off small sparkles as they walked in unison, their eyes unblinking, their strides unwavering.
When the Pokemon got to her, she got on her knees,"Hey there! Are you two new here?"
They looked at each other, and the Pokemon she didn't know touched her legs, sending a voice through her, saying;
We have her.
