Full Of Surprises
*Prince's POV*
One Week Later...
My buddy, Jerome, and I were sitting in my living room at Paisley Park. I haven't heard from Allison for a whole week, she really loves this game. Really playing that 'hard to get' role extremely well, she really knows how to drive a man mad. Vivid memories of the last thing we were doing keep playing through my mind like a movie, or in our case...some sort of porno.
"You're think about it again aren't you?" Jerome asks.
"How can I not? That was the best sex I've ever had! And she just up and left!" I exclaim.
Jerome laughs, I glare at him. My suffering is no laughing matter.
"Did it ever occur to you that maybe she was playing you at your own game?" He asks.
I furrow my brows and rub my chin, he's onto something. It really wouldn't surprise me, but at the time I didn't care, because I was the one that got her in my bed. But she still wouldn't work with me music wise, she's really stubborn on that front.
"Not at the time no." I shrug.
"No because you were thinking with your dick and not your big head. You'd think with a head as big as yours you'd be a lot smarter." Jerome scoffs.
I smirk.
"And you'd think with a personality like yours you'd get at least one woman to like you, but not everyone gets what they want." I chuckle.
Jerome makes a face, shakes his head and glares at me.
"Well maybe Allison would like me." He says a little too confidently.
"Ha! Rome, if she don't like me she definitely won't like you." I say while laughing my ass off.
"Maybe it's your personality that needs some improvements." Jerome says.
I mimic what he said in his voice while making a face.
"That is exactly what I'm talking about!" He yells.
I laugh and wave him off.
"You're too sensitive, that's what she doesn't like. But look at this..." I say while picking up the latest entertainment magazine, "Look how beautiful she is...now how does someone so beautiful and nice looking have such a mouth and attitude on her?"
Jerome whistles while snatching the magazine off of me, getting a closer look.
"Dang! You did the wiggle wiggle bing bang with that?" He gasps.
I raise an eyebrow at him, snatching the magazine back off him.
"Yes, you've seen her before you moron. Plus why do you always talk like that? It's no wonder you don't have a girl." I scoff.
Jerome chuckles, patting my knee.
"Neither do you, home boy." He says.
"Yeah I do, she's just being stubborn about it. She's playing games, you wouldn't understand. I'm gonna get ready for the Music Awards, you're getting on my nerves." I get up.
"Aww honey, don't go. Let's kiss and make up." Jerome makes kissing noise at me.
I scrunch my nose up and start walking away.
"It's amazing how on paper it says you're incredibly smart but your personality tells everyone else otherwise." I say while walking to my bedroom upstairs.
At The Music Awards...
Jerome and I made it to the Music Awards and it's going off! Everybody is here, my people are here. Morris is here, Sheila is here...but the one person that caught my eye looks at me over her shoulder.
I just stand there and stare, taking in her beauty. I don't even know if it's possible that she gets more beautiful every time I see her.
I finish my staring and begin walking up to Allison with Jerome in tow. She turns properly towards me, I smile and take her hand in mine, placing a soft kiss on the back of it.
"Allison, it's been a while." I say.
"Yes well, I have a life." She smiles.
Jerome raises his eyebrows.
"Ooh feisty, I like her already." He says.
Allison diverts her attention to Jerome, giving him a small smile.
"And who are you?" She asks.
"I'm his best friend well, more like brother...I'm Jerome." He smiles.
"Oh wonderful...there's two of you." Allison sighs.
I smirk and chuckle.
"Oh how I've missed the sarcasm that drips from those lips of yours." I say.
Allison smirks and tucks some of her perfectly curled brown hair behind her ear.
"And how I've missed seeing your big head floating on your tiny body, it almost felt unnatural." She sighs.
I laugh at her comments.
"Can I talk to you after the show?" I ask.
"Sure." She nods.
Allison walks inside, Jerome steps in front of me.
"I don't get it! She looks so nice but she's so...so...mean!" He gasps.
"I told you." I shrug.
The both of us walk inside and sit down at our table, which isn't that far away from Allison's. My eyes widen once I realise who her date is, she's with Morris? That's such a bad match. I'll have to do something about that. I get called up to accept an award.
I walk up on stage and take the award, I stand at the podium and look out at the crowd as I begin my speech.
"Thank you so much for this. I don't usually like to talk much when accepting awards but I'd like to say a few words. I want to thank The Revolution for all their hard work and support, we are family and always will be. I'd like to thank Warner Brothers as well, also the fam. I'd also like to thank Allison Richards..." I say.
Allison furrows her brows once she hears me say her name.
"Your feedback on my performances has helped me as an artist as well as you performing with me. I cannot wait to work with you soon. Thank you." I look up at her and smirk.
She sits back in her chair and crosses her arms. I can almost hear her huff all the way over here.
I walk off the stage and go back stage, I wait out by my limo. Jerome comes out with a smirk on his face.
"Are you trying to get into trouble? Because if you are you're doing an excellent job." Jerome says while clapping.
I chuckle and roll my eyes.
"Nah, I'm just making a point. You gonna get home alright?" I ask.
"Yes. You gonna tell me what goes down tomorrow?" He asks.
"Yes. Now go." I shoo him away.
Jerome laughs while walking away, Allison walks out with an unamused look on her face.
"What the hell, Nelson?" She asks.
I chuckle and grab her hand, pulling her towards me.
"Come with me, let's talk." I say.
"Oh is this your 'fancy a fag and a chat?' Moment?" She asks in a British accent.
I try not to laugh at that accent, opening the door to my limo.
"That's one way to put it, but not here." I say.
We both get in. Once the limo stops at our destination we both get out, Allison furrows her brows.
"Why are we at my house?" She asks.
"You've seen inside my house, only fair I see yours." I shrug.
She shrugs and walks inside, I follow. I take the opportunity to look around, inside her home was very modern. It's not your typical rich people's home, it's like a normal person's home but huge. There's a lot of family photos which makes me smile, Allison walks up beside me.
"Not what you were expecting?" She asks.
"I didn't know what to expect, it's just a normal house. I love it." I admit.
"Well feel free to look around, I'm gonna get changed." She says before disappearing upstairs.
And I do just that, I come to a room with a fancy door. I slowly open it and walk in, the room is filled with musical achievements and other awards. Awards for movies and television shows, she's an actor as well?
"This is the room where I stuff all my awards, I never come in here." Allison says, standing in the doorway.
I turn around to look at her.
"Why?" I ask.
"Because Awards don't matter to me." She shrugs.
I smile, I walk up to her. Placing my hands on her waist, staring into her brown eyes.
"It's all just about the music and acting for you?" I ask.
"Yep. The awards tell me that people like it but I don't do it for that." She says while looking at me.
I nod.
"I feel the same way." I say.
She smiles, the smacks me upside the head.
"Ow! What was that for?" I ask, holding the side of my head now hurting.
"That is for that little stunt you pulled on the podium." She says still smiling.
How creepy.
"Oh come on...don't you think it would be great if we worked together?" I ask.
She just looks at me then laughs.
"Oh sweetheart, no." She says.
I don't know if that was meant to be insulting or...
"Why do you keep rejecting me?" I ask.
"I don't need to explain myself again." She says while walking out of the room.
I follow her, I catch up to her and grab her hand. She stops and turns to look at me.
"Yes you do, you keep telling me it's because you work alone and you don't want to make other people popular as the outcome...but give me the real reason you keep saying no to me." I demand.
Her expression softens and she takes a deep breath.
