From that day, bumalik ako sa normal kong buhay. I was working all day and staying in my condo at night. I couldn't afford to go to clubs to party anymore because I don't have the means to spend money on it. So, Daisy and Tanya always brings the party at my place na lang.

"You can go inside. He's waiting for your report."

I nodded. "Thanks. I'll go."

He smiled. "Don't eat dinner later, lalabas tayo. Wear something nice, like you always did."

Tumango ako. "Okay. Just make sure no one in this office sees us."

Hindi na siya sumagot pa. Tumalikod na ako't naglakad palabas ng office niya. The moment I closed the door, unang hinanap ng paningin ko ay ang secretary niya. She was busy typing on her computer. She didn't even look at me as I left the place.

He approved it naman so I thought there won't be a problem." She sighed as she closed the folder and put it on his mini-shelf. "O sige na, you can go back to your table."

I nodded and thanked her before walking to my cubicle.

By lunch time, everyone was having their lunch at the cafeteria. Ako naman, walang gana kumain. Pumunta na lang ako sa CR to take a pee. Lately rin, ang dalas ko umihi. It's not like malamig na malamig sa office or malakas ako uminom ng tubig. I barely have time to stand up and get a water in the pantry! Wala rin naman siguro akong diabetes.

As I was washing my hands, Queenie went out of the cubicle. Tumabi siya sa akin bago naghugas rin ng kamay.

"You've been very quiet lately. May problema ba?" she asked.

Umiling ako bago pinatay na ang faucet. "Wala. Still the same family matters," I said as I dry my hands with the tissue.

She sighed before she finished washing her hands. Pinatuyo niya ang kamay bago may kinuha sa bag saka iniabot sa akin.

"Make sure to not get caught, Areeya. You're digging your own grave."

After she said that, she left. Ako naman ay napatulala lang sa hawak na concealer na binigay niya sa akin. Tumingin ako sa salamin na nasa harap ko. Tinitigan ko ang sariling reflection doon. Mabilis akong napaluha nang makita ang hickeys sa gilid ng cleavage ko. I quickly wiped my tears and covered it with the concealer that she gave me.

Hindi ko alam kung saan kami pupunta kaya naman nagsuot na lang ako ng simpleng blue bodycon dress na ang length ay hanggang sa kalahati ng legs ko. I kept my makeup simple. I wore a black stilletos and use my black bag na madalang ko lang gamitin sa takot na masira ito.

For its hefty price, I will not risk using it in my everyday life, lalo na ngayong nagko-commute na lang ako.

Bago ako tuluyang matapos sa pag-aayos, may nag-doorbell sa apartment. Mabilis kong pinagbuksan si Hunter. He smiled at me before he claimed my lips as he entered inside. He's now wearing a white dress shirt inside and black suit. Parang napakapormal naman.

Naupo ako ulit sa harap ng vanity mirror saka itinuloy ang pag-aayos.

"Saan ba tayo pupunta?" I asked as I put on the earrings that he gave me.

Pumunta siya sa likuran at humawak sa magkabilang balikat ko, marahan itong hinahaplos. He kissed my temple before he answered me.

"Today's my mom's birthday. We're going at my family's place."

My face felt numb after hearing his response.

Am I hearing it right?

Am I reading the situation right? Is he going to introduce me to his family?

Mabilis akong tumayo para humarap sa kan'ya. "Are you in your right mind?!" I shouted.

Sa tingin mo ba, tatanggapin nila kaagad ako, ha?!"

"Hindi nila gagawin kung ano mang nasa isip mo. At isa pa, kung sakaling hindi nila matanggap kaagad, wala silang magagawa! The old man had multiple mistresses and not one spoke up to him about it. I am not doing anything wrong so I don't have any reasons to fear them. They have no rights dictating to me who I should love."

Hindi ako nakasagot. Nanatiling nakaiwas ang tingin ko sa kanya. Mabagal na tumulo ang mga luha ko mula sa mga mata.

He sighed once again as he lifted my face. He wiped my tears and smiled a little.

"You took the risk of having sex with me in the office, not minding that someone might know. It was a good sign to me. Now, I am taking this chance to introduce you to my family. I wanted them to know that someone owns my heart already so they'll stop looking for the perfect wife for me. Okay?"

He pulled me closer and hugged me.

"I'm sorry if I didn't tell you my plan earlier. I'm sorry if this shocked you, but I want you to trust me on this. Okay?"
