The cold sweat overwhelmed me in the moment.

"Gabriel, are you okay?" I furrowed my eyebrows, looking in his direction.

To my astonishment, he didn't even shift for a millimeter and nor did the most silent sound like breathing come out of his soft lips.

"Gabriel!" I was trying to get rid of the rough rope with all my strength, moving until it clenched me even tighter.

But that didn't matter now.

I didn't even care about the fact that all the organs in my stomach will be crushed if I continue this way.

I only cared about some sign of life that will convince my mind that everything is fine with him and calm my heart, which was ripping apart because of the thought that I will never hear that fairty-tale voice again, which was at the same time the most beautiful melody and the coldest tone that would make the blood freeze in my veins.

He can't leave me here alone this way. I didn't go through the burning hell so everything would end like this.

I looked up, remembering the lantern that was still giving the dim light to this desolate room.

My mood got worse when I realized it was still too high.

Maybe it was better that way because knowing myself, I would manage to set myself on fire.

While I was trying to get free, I heard the sound of the creaking door, which immediately distracted me.

"What happened here?" I froze in the place hearing that cold tone, which was giving me headaches from the moment I first heard it.

The lock of my brown hair calmly fell over my horrified face when I slowly turned my head to the side and saw Valentin coming to the middle of the room with the quick steps.

He grabbed Gabriel by chin, not gently at all, and pulled his head up so it was at the same level as his gray eyes that were glowing with the dark sparkles.

"What the-" He moved away like burnt, dropping Gabriel's lifeless face, which helplessly fell back on his chest.

His eyes looked deserted, with a bit of fear and disappointment in the thin circle around his black pupil.

His gaze met mine, so I quickly turned my head and held the painful sob that was the hint of the news I refused to hear.

My lips opened in a pained expression, and the tears blurred my sight, pushing me over the edge.

I cried because the heart wanted so.

The blue streams poured out of their trough, flooding the meadow with their suffering and suffocating the lush greenery in it.

"Oh, you're here, I've been looking for you everywhere. I needed-" Natasha leisurely walked in the room, looking at her light red nails.

The red lipstick on her lips highlighted the line of white teeth that she was just proudly showing, and the black corset shaping her narrow waist.

She stopped as she saw Valentin's pale face looking at Gabriel unbelievingly, who still didn't show any signs of life.

Her smile disappeared and without thinking twice, she attacked Valentin.

"What did you do?!" She snapped, pushing him to the side.

With the speed of light, she came towards Gabriel and put the both of her hands on his pale cheeks, raising his limply head.

"Gabriel?" Natasha called his name, trailing her thumbs from his chin to ears and pulling his black hair out of his face.

"No." She shook her blonde head in the disbelief that showed in front of her crystal eyes.

"You promised you won't hurt him!" She exclaimed and turned towards helpless Valentin as fast as she could.

He was trying to explain that he did absolutely nothing, but she didn't want to listen to him.

At the moment, she didn't want to hear anything else except Gabriel's husky voice saying that he is fine.

"I didn't do anything, I swear to you Natasha." He shouted back when she pushed him with all her strength into the wall, under which the bricks turned in the dust.

"You promised you won't hurt him! I don't believe you anymore!" She grabbed his neck, magnificently lifting his body a few centimeters above the dusty ground.

"You promised." She cried and dropped him once his gray eyes closed because of the lack of air.

"We'll fight over this later, and I guarantee you that with my life." She hissed and then kicked him, quickly turning to the middle of the room.

She looked at me for a second, but it was enough so I could see the burning fire in her dark eyes along with the flash of lightning, making them so dangerous.

With one single move, she had torn the tight rope around us, allowing Gabriel's body to unobtrusively fall into her arms.

I fell on my blue knees while the pain was swallowing my whole body.

"You didn't deserve this, even after all you did to me." She cried, pulling his head closer to her chest and slowly rocking him like a small child.

I have to get up and take this opportunity to escape. That's what Gabriel would say and want me to do. At least I hope so.

I slowly stood up leaning on my elbows and turning back to Natasha, who had all her attention focused on Gabriel.

She didn't even notice that she let me free too, or she did, but didn't care about it.

I'm fighting with the last atoms of strength anyways. I don't know if I will even achieve my goal.

With every new movement, the sharp pain torn my body, but I didn't want to give up just like that.

I have to fight.

For myself.
For Gabriel.
For my family.
For humanity.
For the whole world.

I was finally standing on my feet, and when I turned, the whole life flashed before my eyes.

Natasha was standing in front of me with the face as white as a sheet and her eyes wide open, pouring the fear deep into my fragile bones.

The scene was the same like the ones that I was dreaming about in the worst nightmares.

These vicious eyes were swallowing mine like the fog was swallowing natural beauties.

Her lips opened in shock when the sound similar to cracking bones echoed through the empty room.

To my astonishment, her body suddenly and unexpectedly slipped to the side, revealing the dark silhouette with bloody hands that was standing right behind her, with a heart that was still beating in its palm.

My throat got dry and the pupils widened.

He was standing in front of me, looking flawless as always.

He slowly raised his enchanting glance, which immediately slapped me with its dark aura.

"Gabriel." I whispered in disbelief.

His lips slowly twisted to the side, showing his most beautiful smile.

"Hello, sweetheart. Did you miss me?"
