My heart started to beat faster, while jealousy was spreading through my body like a poison.

The vicious smile didn't disappear from her pale face, on the contrary, it was accompanied by a ringing laughter that just flared the fire inside me even more.

I blinked slowly, and then looked at her underneath my eyelashes. She was standing just a meter away from me, while looking at Gabriel from the corner of her eye.

I could almost see his dark reflection in her glassy eyes.

I wanted to get rid of that beautiful smile on her face, but the tensed rope was forbidding me to move even a millimeter, which just made me more angry.

Then her eyes looked at mine and lost that snowy white gleam. They became dark blue like the sky before a strong storm.

She flipped her bright blonde hair and it fluttered over her shoulders.

The smile finally disappeared from her face, and was replaced by the bitterness when she grabbed my neck and pinched me against the wooden pillar.

It was too fast for my brain to figure out what had just happened, when the sound similar to snake hissing came out of her rosy lips.

"Who the hell are you and how did you get here?" I swear I saw the shiny lightning flashing in her stormy eyes once these words echoed through my head.

"Don't answer." Gabriel leisurely said before me, sending a sudden wave of pleasant heat down my stiff body.

She eased up her snake grip around my poor neck and slowly stood up looking at Gabriel.

Her glance was empty and she smiled cynically, making a step towards him.

She put her exposed arms on her back and looked at him for a moment, then fell on her knees dressed in black leather and roughly grabbed his smiling face.

"Like she's going to listen to you." She arched one of her eyebrows, piercingly looking him in the eyes, and then she shifted her glance to his lips.

I had to turn my head away in the opposite direction because something strong clenched me in the chest, stabbing my heart with the cold dagger of jealousy.

This is the thing that I have been afraid of the most since the moment he kissed me for the first time. Although it wasn't actually a real kiss.

I was afraid of the fact that I will get attached to him, even though he was bad for me. Bad for my heart and mind.

But it seems like his poison already poisoned my heart a long time ago and made it its slave.

My vision got blurry once the tears threatened to stream down my face like waterfalls.

This time I didn't even try to stop them.

But instead of the sweet sound that lips would make when they connect, I heard a loud bang that made me turn in the direction it came from.

The blonde girl flew into the wall and raised the dust that was lying there untouched for over a thousand years.

Gabriel's laughter quickly filled the room, while she was slowly recovering from that strong kick in the back and stomach.

The tears had already dampened my cheeks, and at this moment, it seemed like I was crying because of laughter.

"What's going on?!" The doors suddenly opened with a shudder, raising the cloud of the dust into the air even more.

I glanced over at the young man with gray eyes, from which the lightning struck in the second his eyes met mine.

He quickly turned his gaze to Gabriel and pulled the girl up with one move like she was lighter than a feather.

"Natasha, what happened?" He asked her with a sharp Russian accent once he saw her painful expression on the face, but she didn't answer, only looked at Gabriel and everything was crystal clear to him.

He let her upper arm, and then came closer to him like a stampede, grabbing his chin firmly and pulling him up to stand.

How we were both tied with the same rope, I was also forced to stand up on my feet because otherwise, I would choke in the second.

"What are you going to do now? Kill me like you did the day you caught me with your sister?" The malicious smile rose on his lips when a face of a young man in front of him frowned.

"You bastard." He hissed through the teeth and punched him in the cheek the strongest he could.

Gabriel's head helplessly flew to the right, his eyes catching mine when he painfully opened them.

I felt like I need to apologize for everything, it's my fault that we are here now.

If I haven't come here, he wouldn't be here either, but still live his monotonous life in the eternal darkness.

A dark liquid came down his face and then the neck, where it merged with the black color of his T-shirt.

The young man was preparing to hit him once more when suddenly a blonde girl stepped in between them.

"Valentin! It's enough!" She raised both hands in defense like it would stop him if his hand flew towards Gabriel.

"Natasha, move. He has to learn the lesson that nobody, but nobody is fucking with you." He was about to push her away, but it was like she buried herself in the place and didn't move even for a millimeter, insisting to defend him.

Her cold gray eyes were shooting Valentin's identical, while her wavy blonde hair was extending down, up to her breasts.

"He learned it. Stop." She pushed him away uninterested and he lost his balance for a second.

"Why are you suddenly defending him? I thought you don't care about him anymore!" He raised his voice to the level even my heart skipped a beat because of the sudden shock and fear that flew through my veins.

"I never stopped caring for him! It just faded with the time since you started behaving like an idiot!"

"Natasha." He tried to calm her by placing both of his hands on her shoulders, but she quickly shook them away and pushed him back.

"Nothing Natasha. Stop Valentin, I can't let you kill him for real this time." Her voice was halfway cracked and I could say that she was already crying like a rainy year in a tropical forest somewhere in Brazil.

He just looked at her uninterested, rolling his eyes in annoyance and then his gaze locked with mine. He effortlessly moved her to the side and came closer to me.

He stopped just a step in front of me and gently caught my chin with his icy fingers.

I looked him in the eyes, and then he asked me a question that really made me think.

"And you princess? Do you love him too?"
