Suvi.. Suvi... Suvi

It was the final football match for Girls playing for the inter school competition of the academic year 2003-04 and it was won by St. Theresa High School, Pune. The girl who hit the goal was Suvarna Pandya, daughter of Vijaya Pandya.

Suvarna was a adopted child and Vijaya is a single mother. She have raised her as an independent and strong headed girl.

Survana is allowed to take her own decisions and she is always motivated by her mother at her each step. She loves her mother so much that she can't tolerate a single word against her.

Well, this mother daughter relation is one of its kind, they are friends as well as enemies. Friends as Suvarna is pampered by Vijaya to any extreme and Suvarna would never go against Vijaya words but enemies as Survana know about both of her parents being dead and her being an adopted child to Vijaya.

Whenever Survana tried to get some information about her dead parents all her efforts went to vain. Suvarna doesn't even know the names of her parents.

At the age of 7, she came to know about her being adopted as she accidentally heard her Mother conversation with her uncle and Anuty.

Suvarna has tried 'N' number of times from that day but she was never told by Vijaya for once about her parents. Vijaya always avoids passing any information related to her parents.She was scared but of what Survana could never understand.

Their fight has been nonstop from then, Suvarna decided to call Vijaya as "Maasi Ma" because her mother is not ready to give any details about her real parents and Vijaya, she always stays upset with the fact that Suvarna won't call her Maa.

Now Suvarna is 14 and after 4 months she will be appearing for her 10 th board exams and she has been promised by her dear uncle Mr. Arvind Kashyap that he would come to India and take her on world tour after completion of her exams.

After 5 months

It has been fifteen days that Suvarna's vacation has started but She was not happy. As promised by her uncle he could not take her to the world tour because of his company's expansion programs and he had to stay in US for this month.

Her mother had tried to change her mood many times but she was not successful in doing so. Vijaya even offered to take her on World tour but Survana denied as she wanted Arjun and Piyali also with her.

28 th March

Next day morning her mother came to her room to inform her about her uncle's call last night and him being sorry to her. Suvi was upset so she didn't reply to her mother. Her mother also informed her about a interview being telecast on T.V. by BBC English.

That night Vijaya had gone to her friends house for their anniversary party she had asked Suvi to accompany her but her daughter flatly refused.

After Vijaya leaving the house, Suvi had nothing to do so she switched on the T.V. and was surfing through the channel. When she accidentally got hold on her uncle's interview.

She was listening about his ideas to expand their company in India. How he wished that his children Arjun and Suvarna would join the company and built it's future in india. Tears formed in her eyes seeing the love for her in her uncle's eyes.

He always put her first in his every dream and every plan. She was his daughter and he would always be there for his children's, he stated in that interview. She was not less than Arjun for him. Suvarna concluded in that very moment and thus all her anger went flying out of her mind.

Interview questioned about his life back in India to which Mr. Kashyap started filling in with various details. He was answering the questions and when asked about his college life. He laughed and narrated about his roommate and his pranks on students and teachers.

Mr. Kashyap further added "He is my Best friend till this day. He died 15 years ago and I can't believe he is gone." Tears flooded his eyes and the interviewer moved further with questions.

Suvarna was aware of her father's friendship with Mr. Kashyap. They were friends from college and taking that college name as a hint and Arvind being emotional just at the mention of his friend, she knew it has to be her father. She decided to search for his father's name and her paternal family.

Survana got ready that night and packed all her essential things and grabbed all the money which she could find in her house. She also took her gold jewellery gifted by her mother and Uncle Anuty with her so that it can be useful to her if she run in some problem.

She started walking on unknown path and she knew it won't be easy for her. That 14 year old teenager was very persistent about knowing her father's identity. She had to know about her parents because she knew that her mother and Uncle-Anuty have been hiding something from her and that she had to find.

30 th March

It was early morning when she reached Mumbai and now she was waiting for the college office to open. She was really sacred and feared from inside about the consequences of her stunt but nothing can be done now. Crying over the spoilt milk is wrong taught by Gauri Maa and therefore backing off was not a option left with her.

Suvarna mentally prepared herself for anything which could come her way. She knew the road is difficult but she had already taken the first step so now moving further can at least give her the satisfaction that she tried nor that she feared the world and run back in her mother's shelter.

Morning 9:00 A.M.

She was waiting in the college premises and her memories went back when she was 7 year's old, that day her Arvind uncle was moving to abroad and she was making card for her best friend Arjun, as she would missed him a lot and her Arvind uncle and Gauri anuty also.

That day she heard the three of them talking how her parents friends came up and adopted her, how she was saved and then the little girl understand only one thing "The women whom shpe considered her Mother was actually her Mother's friends and her parents have died long back."

Tears were running from her eyes and she was seated there in the grass at the daytime. A sweeper came near her and asked her
"Kyon ho tum aur yaha kyu bethi ho ?"
(Who are you and why are you sitting here ?)

Suvi stood up and collect her bag. She inquired about the administration office and moved towards the shown way.

The little 14 years old girl was all alone but determined in her path. She wanted to know about her parents and why they were murdered ?

Suvi was only 11 years old when once it happened that she listened to her Mom and uncle Anuty conversation when they visited India for business purpose.

She closed her eyes and remembered their words, which she heard while moving towards kitchen from her mother's bedroom.

Vijaya - She has all the qualities of her father. She is determined in sports, I think she will go to state level easily.

Gauri - She is talented but I have a fear, what if those people come to know about her ? Will they kill her also ?

Arvind - No, that should not happen. I lost my best friend but I don't want to lose My daughter.

Vijaya - I think it's better to hide from her that her Father was murdered and those people try so hard to kill us also. She should never know where she belongs to because if does then she could go to any extent to know the truth and then I am sure we won't be able to do anything. This girl will any how make us spill the beans so we have to be careful.

Moreover what about her grandparents, are they still alive ? Do they know about her ? She had cried herself to sleep that night. A small girl faced the reality of being orphan and not just that she didn't even knew why someone took away blessings of her parents from her.

Till that day she blamed God for not able to spend her life with them but now she knew someone else was responsible for her parents not being with her so she took it on herself to at least find her grandparents and know about her parents.

This may be her chance to do something for her parents who died but didn't allow a single harm on their baby.

Suvarna was standing outside the college building and thinking about the events in her life. Her mind was not working properly and how could it when she herself has created such a mess. She heard a young girl asked "Hello, May I help you ?"

Hello, She replied. "Way to Admin office please.?"
