Chapter two; their chemical romance

*ten years ago*
"Finally, I've done it!" Sheldon's eyes widened as he backed away from his beautiful creation.
He fell to his knees in front of the supercomputer he just made. For once he felt proud of himself. The fifteen-year-old ran down the stairs to his arguing parents. He learned to ignore the fear of them leaving each other by this point.
"Hey Ma, hey dad!" He yelped as he rode down the railing on his stairway. They snapped and look at him quickly with squinted eyes as to say "this better be good" At that moment all his confidence vanished. He suddenly felt anxious to speak. He finally got his words together and said;

"Sorry to bother you two, I thought you'd be interested to see what I've just finished."

"Sheldon sweetie can this wait?" His mother said with false sweetness. Just that was enough to extinguish his pride. He felt dumb for asking so he walked back to his room. He gently swung open the door to find the cluttered mess from his project. He collapsed in bed and stared at the ceiling.

Even though this was a small event it happened too much to go unnoticed. He finally felt the bottled up emotion break it's case and leak through his eyes. He broke out to a loud cry and buried his head in his pillow.

"Are you planning on crying like a baby all night? cause it's starting to get annoying!" The automated female voice said.

The young scientist looked up in confusion. He didn't design her to speak like that. He wiped his eyes from his tears as his mood lightened. He walked towards her in shock.

"Wait, I didn't program that, how did you just...?" he murmured.

"Oh please, I'm not some silly laptop." she sassed him.

He smiled gently. finally, he wasn't alone.

"Yeah go ahead, Just sit there and smile at me! or you could ask me my name like a normal specimen." the computer kept going.

"Fine, fine! What should I call you?" He murmured

"Karen, and you?"

Sheldon was meeting his computer for the first time, his only friend.

"Dr. Plaintrol to you!"

And this is how he met her. The young scientist met his future wife at fifteen. The one person that would never leave him.
