Chapter {8}

"Load up! Let's move it, team!" I called out, as I carried my two duffle bags up the ramp of our plane. One night plane trip. I mentally sighed, 24 hours with this crew. And by crew I mean my squad. I loved them all but sometimes they could be like a bunch of children. Especially Felix. "Make sure weapons are secured in storage, Eric!" I told him as he packed our weapons in tight-sealed cases.

I threw the black bags I was holding in a pile by the stairs up to the planes main room that was connected to the cockpit. I started to turn around before a familiar arm wrapped around my shoulders and I cocked a brow, looking up at Tyler's face."May I help you?" I said taking his arm off me, gently.

"She wants you to be the pilot for the flight. She's only sending us in, Lily." Tyler told me just as he threw his bags on the pile.

I nodded and gave a small sigh,"alright- I'll let Felix know he's gonna have to co-pilot-"

"How about I co-pilot?" He suggested, cutting me off with his signature grin, that at times seemed charming.

I cocked a brow and completely stopped,"you? Co-pilot? Don't you hate flying?" I questioned with a small smirk.

Tyler shrugged,"not necessarily." He told me quietly,"I'm most likely better company than Felix anyway."

I chuckled, letting myself give an amused smile."I don't know, I kind of like his jokes and puns. They grow on you after awhile." I teased.

Tyler frowned, his frown only growing more as Felix put his arm around Tyler's neck in a brotherly fashion."Here that Tyler-boy, someone does appreciate my puns." He winked at me, playfully.

I rolled my eyes and laughed at the boys, and watched as Tyler took his arm and twisted it behind his back, whispering something in his ear. I stood there and crossed my arms, watching them.

"-alright, alright. Geez... I was only jokin' Ty."

"You two are ridiculous." I said in a teasing manner after watching Tyler release him and both of their eyes looked back at me."Load up, or I'm leaving without you two." I said as I walked away from them but then I stopped and glanced over my shoulder,"oh, and Felix, Tyler is gonna co-pilot for me this time. I can only take so many of your puns in 24 hours." I grinned.

Tyler's lips curled in a smirk as he glanced at Felix and ruffled his hair,"told ya so."

I took my headset off and sighed. Most people like long road trips and find them enjoying to go on. That is if your destination is a relaxing one. Mine never have been. Only another moment to wonder if I truly ever have another moment like this or if this is my last.

I smiled when I looked over to my right and saw Tyler completely asleep in his seat. If we were younger and I would have found him like that, I would do what every kid would and put whipping cream in his hand and a feather to his nose. But those naive activities and childish days of fun are over and we both knew that.

I had put the private jet on autopilot as we soared through the night sky and I stood up, leaving Tyler in the cockpit with a small kiss on his cheek before leaving. I made my way down the hallway and out he door of the cockpit to the main room of the plane. Everything was dark and there was a small light on in the back where the coffee and snacks were and the bathrooms were.

I glanced at the seats as I made my way down the isle. Liz was asleep with her laptop in her lap and files sprawled our in the seat next to her. And Eric asleep like her across from her seat. I smiled at the twins, this was about the only moment they were ever peaceful.

I glanced away as I opened one of the glass cased cabinets and pulled out a med-kit, and then set it on the counter as I flicked the locks up and opened it, rummaging through it.  I heard a toilet flush that interrupted the peaceful silence I was in as someone behind me opened the door from the bathroom.

I didn't turn around or flinch, but kept shuffling through bandages for Neosporin.
I grabbed the small toothpaste-like tube of Neosporin just as the person behind me spoke up.

"You know, there are consequences for stealing." Felix teased with a chuckle.

"You know, there are consequences for sneaking up on girls-violation of privacy from what I've heard." I retorted, in a calm manner as I turned to meet his face, before placing my hands on the counter behind me and jumping up.

Felix only laughed at my reply and shook his head in amusement before speaking up as he stepped closer,"how is our fearless leader doing?" He asked, a hint of play and a hint of seriousness in his tone once he noticed the med-kit.

"I'm not your leader-so to speak, Felix. The director is." I countered, not looking up at him as I applied the Neosporin to a cut on my arm, that had started bleeding again. I grimaced slightly at the shock of pain that went through me.

Felix frowned and stepped forward, taking my arm, so he could look at it. "Lily, what-How's you get this..?"

The pulled my arm back and rolled my eyes,"training. Relax. It's a small cut. I'm fine." I said as I put a larger bandaid on it-to cover all of it.

Felix nodded and stepped back, leaning against the counter as well. He cocked a brow and watched me,"does Tyler know?"

I furrowed my brow and paused, looking up at him,"-about the cut?"

"Yes, what else would I be referring too." He mused.

"No." I sighed and glanced to the side with a huff. I had really become a lot more paranoid as of late.

He nodded with a grin,"I figured as much. Do you ever tell the poor guy anything?" He joked.

"Yes."

"Let me guess, need-to-know-basis?" He gave a huff of amusement.

I shifted as I sat on the counter. "No."

Felix sighed,"I swear, getting more then one word answers is one of the hardest things to do, personal opinion."

I laughed quietly at that and looked him in the eye,"I know what your trying to get to. 'Do I still have feelings for him'. 'Have I told him?'" I spouted off. And then turned my gaze back to the ground."Yes..." I answered the first one.

"And...?" He waited for the second answer, stepping closer.

"No."

Hey, thanks for reading! Let me know what you think in the comments and feel free to give me constructive criticism, I'd love to know where I'm struggling at or what I need to fix! I absolutely love writing! Sorry for such a late update, I'm afraid I've been given some very recasting news lately about a good friend of mine who needs a miracle if she's going to live past this brain tumor that's inoperable. So these past weeks have been hard for me and my family. That and I've been really sick-if you any of you who see this could please pray for me and her family and her.❤

Love,
GlitzyDiamond
