Chapter {3}
"Hey, Lily..."
---------------------
I frowned at the happy expression on the face of my teammate and heard the chuckle to my right from Tyler as he leaned against the wall in the hallway and I still held my Teammate's arm and kept him pinned to the ground, I sighed and let him go.
"Felix? Be careful next time, I could have broken your arm." I scolded and stepped back, letting him stand up.
Felix winced but nodded and stood up, still smiling,"sorry, I was only saying 'hi' though." He smirked a little,"you shouldn't be so uptight and defensive. Relax and lighten up sometimes."
I rolled my eyes and glanced at Tyler who also nodded in agreement, making me mentally groan. Men...
"Where's the rest of the gang?" I ignored his comment and changed the topic. My brunette bangs falling down from being tucked behind my ear. My hand now on my hip as I looked between these two men who were somehow my friends. I called them 'acquaintances that I spend twenty-four/ seven with'. I glanced at Tyler just briefly catching his glance at me.
Well not Tyler. Tyler I called... my friend. A very close friend. I've known him the longest. I'm not such an easily trusting person so to speak so having friends is a struggle. I choose my acquaintances/ friends. But I'd have to admit, Tyler-when I'm with him. It's more than a friendship. It's a-well like a bond almost. If he were in my head right now he'd call it 'chemistry'. Which only made me roll my eyes mentally.
We were suppose to have relationships and he knew it. But something told me there was no stopping something stronger than rules.
"Eric, and Liz are working on their new gadget. Or at least Liz is. Eric is just slowing her down." Felix reported, watching me as continued walking silently and calmly.
I paused thinking of something, stopping in my foot steps. The files. They had to have finished downloading by now. I turned to Tyler and Felix.
"I have to go take care of something, I'll meet you guys in the director's office." I said before taking a breathe and turning on my Black, leather boot's heel. But not before a strong grip took hold of my arm.
"Lily, I'm-" I interrupted him as I looked into his eyes almost at a lost for words but I pulled myself together.
"-your coming with me?" I finished for him, and cocked my eyebrow.
"Yes," he said calmly not even breaking his expression or gaze when I had interrupted him.
"No." I said with just as much ease as he had. "It's personal business." I told him, matching his gaze. I could see the pleading look in his eyes to come with me.
"Isn't that how all our business is..." he paused and I swear I could see a small smirk growing on the side of his perfectly perfect lips."...personal."
Felix's eyes widened and he smirked at us, I knew that look from anywhere even out of the corner of my eye. "Are you guys...? Having an affair?" He asked almost as if this made him happy and excited. Like a brother learning his little sister was getting married.
My eyes widened at his questions, but I quickly hid it."no."I defended,"that's against the rules. Love.. is weak anyway. I wouldn't be stupid enough to risk my position on something like that." I retorted and without further ado, walked down the hall to my quarters rather quickly as I left Felix in the hall and a 'following' Tyler behind me.
We walked in silence, the echoing sound of Or footsteps seeming to be the only thing keeping our silence from being over bearing. I risked a glance at him, his brown, purposely, messy, hair, and husky stubble that lined his chin attracting my attention before I let my brown eyes meet his hazel eyes. Which I hadn't even realized were looking back at me.
"Flowers," he said in a playful tone with his charming smile that I could have sworn earned a tony smile from my lips; but I shook it off.
"Tyler, don't bring that up." I said quietly as we walked, having left Felix to his own duties. I glanced away as we turned the corner.
"Oh come on, Lily." He said still smiling as he walked, then stopped in front of me. I finally looked up from the floor and his oddly shiny combat boots to his eyes."You can't push me away. Even though you won't admit it, you need me as much as I need you."
"I never said I didn't need you, Ty." I replied calmly, a blank gaze settled on his own tender gaze.
"I've always got your back." He told me, just as he had everyday for however long I've known him for. I believed full heartedly that he did.
I looked into his eyes, almost searching them. Tyler had been my only real comfort and safety over the years. Like a Captain in a war room deciding his best play. He goes for his best bet and keeps what's important safe. For me that was Tyler. I couldn't afford to lose him. But now I let him get to close.
"I know." I said softly.
"You're bleeding." He said in a quiet tone as he reached toward my forehead. I flinched at his touch and pulled away. For a millisecond I swear I could see a glimpse of hurt and immediately regretted that. Good gosh. He looked like a lost puppy when he did that.
"Tyler." I said breaking the silence as I side stepped him."You trust me right?" I glanced over my shoulder at him as he stood in the doorway.
"Yes, but what are you talking about?" He paused and smiled,"cause I'm getting Aladdin vibes here." He said in playful humor.
I ignored that and nodded before stepping to the side and letting him into my room.
"You need to see this."
