Chapter {12}

Come on, Liz...

I murmured mentally, trying not to feel anxious as I skidded to a stop at the door. She was on the other side. All I had to do was get inside, grab her. Grab all she dug out and get out of this wretched place.

I looked to the side of the door. It was locked. I groaned and then looked at the hinges. They were small ones. Easy to break. So with all my might I slammed my shoulder against the door-pain immediately shooting through me and I grimaced. I stepped back and glanced at the door. One more should do it. I charged at the door again, this time when my body connected with the door it busted open. I only stumbled and my knees made contact with the ground.

I didn't even have time to react before I felt the barrel of a gun against the top of my head and I froze.

You've got to be kidding me... I swear if this is the wrong room...

"Put your hands behind your head and stand up." A quivering female voice said.

I rolled my eyes and looked up with a sigh of relief,"Liz, put the gun down, it's me." I said standing up and taking the weapon from her shaky hands before she could accidentally do something she might regret.

Liz bluntly sighed in relief and smiled sheepishly."Sorry, Lily. I thought-"

I cut her off and shook my head,"it's fine. We need to go. Did you get everything?"

Liz shook her head and went back to the walls where all her stuff was-wires, cords, laptop, her tablet- all laid. "Not yet. Their systems are tough to crack."

"I thought you said you could."

"I did say I could. However, I did not imply I could do it quickly." She told me, glancing over her shoulder as she sat back down on the ground.

"We have to go soon, Liz. They'll be more coming."  I reminded her glancing back at the open door.

"I know... five minutes, Lily. Just five minutes and we can figure out the information of this meeting."

Five minutes...

I ran down the hall, looking for the right way. Which door... since comms went off I wasn't able to get help from Liz. So I was on my own. I stopped and looked at the number of levels lighted on the walls and rooms-a map of the building. 'Files Storage Room.'

I smirked, Perfect. Man. These people really should know better than to put a map of your building right in the way of prying eyes.

I hurried to the elevator, and clicked level 3-waiting for the doors to open. I glanced down the hallway both ways making sure no one noticed me. Thankful that people were to busy chatting and walking in the lobby to even care what I was doing.

And to think Tyler said I was bad at this. Pff... he's bad at flying.

The steel doors opened with a ding and I hurried in, pressing level 3 yet again. Then leaned against the wall casually in the corner.
To my excitement elevator music started to a jazzy tune. I grinned and swayed a little to it.

Now all I need is a girl and a vacation...

But to my dismay before my thoughts could linger the elevator stopped at level 2 and the doors opened allowing two men and a woman to enter. All of which wore black jackets, the girl in a grey pencil skirt, (I took good note of), and the men wearing black cargo pants.

I scooter over somewhat, and glanced over at them with a subtle grin. The men were in their late 30's and the woman with straight light brown hair in her early 20's- the lady slightly shorter by an inch or two then the men. But definitely having a smaller build then them. And most definitely far more attractive too.

I noticed the man with the beard starting to reach for the woman's and whisper something in her ear and she stepped the side as the other man who I barely noticed, reached for something to the left of him.

I smirked and started a soft chuckle but loud enough to be an annoyance.

The one man glared at me immediately with a frown,"what's so funny?" He snapped.

I looked at him calmly and subtly reached for my Glock at my side and smiled at him,"Look up, you'll see." I laughed, and the woman and the man speaking to me looked up. Which gave me a spilt second to react as I smirked and brought my foot up kicking the man into the wall of the elevator, just as the other grabbed my arm and punched me in the gut making me gasp for air which I quickly collected.

Lily, is gonna kill me for that...

I frowned and brought my elbow up and back with great force into his abdomen, before using the wall of the elevator as I took one step against it, and pushed off, round house kicking him to the ground, with a bleeding mouth.

"Gullible is written on the ceiling." I smirked at his unconscious body. But was greeted with the sound of a gun being cocked. My face paled and my eyes widened.

I looked to my side to see the man standing in front of the lady who seemed to be quivering and shaking as she watched in fear and the man holding his pistol aimed right at my heart.

Crap.

"Uhh.... easy buddy, I'm not looking for trouble..." I eased into conversation. But was only frowned at as he moved his finger to the trigger."look up at the ceiling..?" I tried with an optimistic tone. He didn't budge or move to look up. "Darn... same trick doesn't work twice.." I sighed. "Maybe... this will.." I smirked before lowering my head and crouching down, charging at him, before he could fire the bullet and his bullet went right into the ceiling with a loud echoing sound that nearly killed my ears.

I slammed him into the wall with my body and turned him around taking hold of him by the neck and pinning his arm to his back with my other hand.

I could hear him groan and wince and his teeth clenching in anger toward me. "You Bas-" I cut him off with a grin and wrapped an arm around his neck before snapping it with a heavy force and letting him fall to the ground.

"Lady's in the room..." I scolded his dead body and then looked at her.

"Any plans for tonight, m'lady?" I questioned flirtatious and she looked at me in disgust, clearly traumatized by all this.

"Get away f-from me-e..." She stuttered our as firmly as possible and I rolled my eyes before digging in my back pocket for cuffs.

"Geez... and I thought I was being polite..."

Sorry this wasn't published on Sunday I'm trying to work out different publishing schedules because I may be writing a new book-will have to see. It's still in the rough draft process.

Hoped you liked it!
