Chapter {10}
I smirked at the computer screen before quickly shutting it off with a smirk on my face I quickly turned in my sleek black desk chair to my guest.
"Daniel, such a pleasure to lay my eyes on you." I said, my voice smooth as honey, but cold as Ice. My gaze shifting over him, taking in all of his features from his scruffy pointed chin, to his dark blue eyes, and wide forehead with his black hair that was neatly swept to the side. His skin white but not pale.
Daniel gave me a cold smile in return as he took my hand and kissed the top of it as if my hand were a delicate flower.
"Miss-" I cut him off before he could speak my name."No, Daniel, not here. Do not say my name. We have matters to discuss. Sit."I said firmly, without hesitation in my voice.
"Yes, ma'am, of course. You emailed me files?"
"That is correct." I shifted, keeping a confident focus with him. Ignoring my lingering thoughts of pain from earlier. "Did you read them?"
"Yes."
"And you know what you have to do?" I said, half tempted to grin at his words.
"Without hesitation. I'd be happy to attend to this matter for you. It won't be a problem."
I smiled at him and nodded, silence in the room before I spoke up again."I was certain it wouldn't be. If anything it'd be something you've been wanting to cross off your list for awhile now."
It was his turn to smile as the corner of his lips curled, a scar lining the side of his forehead, down his neck.
"Revenge is sweet."

I rushed down the hall, practically flying, my pistol holstered to my thigh, gently hitting against my leg that was covered by black pants. My knife in my boot with a heel of three inches. I had my jackets sleeves rolled up to my elbow and my zipper half way down showing part of my button-up white blouse. My hair in my messy ponytail. Not your typical young adult look, but at the moment my mind wasn't even close to being on my outfit.
My heart was beating way to fast for my heavy breathing to keep up as I turned the corner. I glanced at my Fitbit watch that Liz had modified and put a screen on it and Tyler had my phone that was currently syncing the radar with the heat signature dots on it. I could barely hear the sounds around me, drowned or by my urgent need to get to Liz.
Static.
Dang it! I tried the comms but all I was getting was static when I got inside the building and was walking down one of the closed off hallways to the back of the buildings. Lucky no one usually from what Eric told me walked down these hallways. It looked like I was going to have to do this the old fashioned way.
I picked up my pace more and started running, and I slid down the railing off the stairs that went to the lower floor of the basement and landed with ease. I glanced down one end the hallway and then the other. All four sides of walls from floor to ceiling with concrete, and flood lights connected by wires in the corners of the walls. Must be the new construction area of the building for remolding.
I went through the steps in my head Tyler repeated to me over and over again before he let me go in. 'Alley, door, straight, left, down.... left.' So I took the left and ran down that hallway before skidding to a stop at the door. Crap. It was locked. Liz. If only the comms worked. Wait... she could see my heat signature just like I could see hers.
I looked down at my screen again, the red dots getting closer to her position and Felix on the opposite side of the building. I groaned lowly. I needed to get there now-
Before I could scream at myself anymore the door lighted green and made a swift sound signaling it was unlocked. 'Oh you beautiful, genius, Liz!' Without hesitation I quickly opened the door, knowing my teammates life relied on my swift actions right now.
I continued running in my three inch black boot heels again, not even feeling pain from it-thanks to Liz's genius inventions. I immediately slowed to a stop when I came to a corner, hearing deep voices from around it. I hoped the sounds of my boots on the concrete hadn't given me away. 'Note to Liz. Make no-sound, heels.'
I sighed in relief when the taking continued as if they hadn't even noticed me. I took a risk peeking my head out and around the corner quickly before lifting my head back. Three. Middle-aged men. Shouldn't be to difficult.
Then Tyler's words came to mind: Be Discreet.
I smirked a little, getting this adrenaline boost like I always did in the field. Like a new kind of blood flowed through my veins. I glanced at my screen again, and my eyes widened.
Liz. She was moving! Towards them!
No! No! No! Dang it! What was she thinking! She was down the opposite hallway. If they opened that door they were at- she is screwed.
I felt the rush, I felt the urgency, I knew her life was at stake. And I did not intend to lose. Before I realized my own actions I was already moving and my brain was workin with me. I charged at them silently-as silently as possible with heels on concrete.
Muscle memory kicking in as I swung with my arm in the air and hit the first guy in the head with my elbow, then grabbing his arm and pulling him towards me after he grunted, and bringing my knee into his abdomen. I could hear as his breathe left him for a moment and his hand went to his stomach. But before he could react I brought both elbows down on the back of his bent over head, knocking him to the ground.
I tried to steady my heavy breathing before I looked up at the other two men, one of them completely in shock, and taking his cellphone out to call.
The other reaching for his weapon and aiming it at me, but before he could think about pulling the trigger I had taken hold of the barrel of the blaster, fear never even crossing my mind as I twisted his arm and spun myself into his chest and stomped my heel on his foot as he released his hold on the gun. Making it drop but his arms coming around me and holding me in place. I grunted and looked at the guy in front of me that pulled out his Glock.
'Well this is just fabulous.'
I brought both of my feet up and with all my strength shoved him against the wall when my feet made contact with his chest. At the same time using my head to nail the guy holding me in the nose and chin. He let go of me which was his mistake as I jumped just enough in the air to spin and swiftly knock him in the back of the head with my leg.
I looked at the guy who had sunk to the wall when I shoved him and picked the gun off the floor and aimed it at him. Both of our eyes meeting. I narrowed my eyes before shooting him in his leg.
Cries of pain echoing in the hall before falling silent as the door behind me closed.

Well my hearts racing. I don't know about yours. This chapter was honestly so much fun-so fast to write! I love writing action scenes! Hence an action book!
Hopefully I'm good at writing action scenes... I just think I watch to many action movies.
This chapter actually has scenes from the trailer in it. Of course it's not the exact same, because this is my original work and not from a movie but close.
Let me know what you thought? Was she discreet enough? Is Liz going to be okay?
