I sat on the couch just staring at the burgundy colored wall in front of me. The TV could be heard in the background but I paid absolutely no mind to it.
Dozens of thoughts crossed through my mind. I didn't know what to make of this current situation. I was so relieved that I finally knew what happened to me, yet I was angry; angry at so many different things. There was nothing I hated more than the people I cared about keeping very important things from me. It didn't make sense.
I could hear the engine of my dad's truck as it pulled into the driveway, followed by the closing of two doors. Soon, the front door swung open but I didn't move at all. I just continued to stare at the wall, hoping I could somehow process all of these thoughts.
The sound of heavy footsteps could be heard walking into the living room. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Ron and my dad come in. My dad made a move to stand in front of me, but I didn't shift.
"Azalea, are you okay?" he asked me. I just shrugged at him. He knelt down in front of me and I looked at him. "What's wrong?"
I let out a little chuckle. Him and Ron were definitely going to love what I had to say.
"I remember," I stated.
My dad gave me a weird look and Ron walked over to stand in front of me.
"What?" my dad asked me.
"I said that I remember. I remember everything that happened to me. You don't have to keep it from me anymore," I told him.
He gave me a skeptical look. "Is this your way of trying to get us to tell you what happened?" he baited.
I groaned and rolled my eyes. "No, damn it. I actually remember," I exclaimed.
"Are you sure?" he pressed.
I grabbed his face with my hands and looked him in the eye. "I can not be clearer on how crystal clear I am being, dad. I remember everything. Why is that so hard to believe?" I retorted.
His eyes widened and I let him go. He shared a quick glance with Ron before getting up to sit down beside me on the couch, as did Ron.
"Tell us what you remember," Ron told me.
I sighed.
"I remember eating at Taco Bell with Braelynn. We were talking when there was a loud explosion. After that we ran back to the front of the building to see what had caused the explosion and behold there stands a giant robot just like the one from my previous dreams.
"After the robot sighting, Braelynn and I began running which is why my knee is in such bad shape. I ended up falling and I told Braelynn to leave so she did. That's when three more robots entered the square. They're all still so familiar to me in some way. One was green, the other was blue with flame decals and the last one was the same one from my other dreams.
"I remember being absolutely terrified. The black robot shot the silver one and he came flying towards me though I got away in time. Everyone had managed to escape but me. I was left on the side of the street just watching the robots fight.
"At first I thought the other robot was dead because the explosion after the black bot shot him, but he wasn't. I remember almost being stepped on and then the silver bot had his gun aimed at the building beside me. Before I knew it I was trapped underneath a pile of drywall.
"I managed to get out but I was losing consciousness fast. I was almost halfway gone but I was still aware of everything that was happening around me. The silver bot transformed and flew away while the other three searched for something unknown to me.
"It was then that I met eyes with the black bot who I assume is a he. His facial expression when he saw me was almost as if he knew who I was though at the moment it was nothing I was worried about. The last thing I remember is him picking me up and then I guess I fell asleep," I finished.
The looks on their faces were quite amusing. Right now I was guessing that I remembered right.
"Is that all?" my dad asked.
His question sparked the anger in me from earlier. "No, actually."
I got up and stood in front of them, my hands on my hips. It took all of my concentration to keep me from falling.
"What is it?" Ron asked me.
I glared at the two of them. "You two are some shit liars," I exclaimed.
They both raised their eyebrows at me and I chuckled.
"Don't even try to act innocent. The night I woke up Ratchet said and I quote 'Just know that without a very special person on your father's team, you would not be sitting here right now'. That's funny because I wasn't saved by a human. This leads me to believe that those strange alien robots are apart of your team, dad.
"That means that you two, Ratchet and possibly even mom have been lying to me all along. When I asked you if anything was being done to stop these things, you told me that the government was doing all they could. That was a lie because the government may very well know about them but they're not doing shit. These other robots that you're working with are," I told the two men.
"Azalea," my dad started.
"Don't start with me. Why did you keep it from me?" I inquired.
He sighed. "To keep you safe," he said.
I scoffed. "That didn't turn out so well, now did it? I mean just look at me."
He pursed his lips. Ron had been silent almost all throughout the whole ordeal but I was glad. I didn't want to have to yell at him. I sat back down in between the two men and stared at the wall again, new thoughts finding their way into my mind.
Suddenly, something else clicked. The three robots. .the way they were familiar to me. I had seen them before, just not as robots. The truck and the hummer I had seen when I went running and the other day when Optimus and Ratchet had shown up with the twins. Then my dad's truck. .I couldn't believe that I wasn't able to figure this out sooner. It made so much sense.
The black robot had headlights where his chest was; the same headlights that my dad's truck had. The blue and red robot had the same exact flame designs as the semi Optimus had arrived and left in and the green robot was the same exact color of Ratchet's medical vehicle.
All of this could be a coincidence but I highly doubted it. There were way too many clues present for it to be just a simple coincidence. This would mean that the black robot did know me though. Why is that so? Because he's been sitting in my driveway, watching me for weeks. .
My eyes widened and I jumped up again. I looked at the two men who seemed to be suprised by my sudden outburst. Right now I kind of wanted to hit them both.
"The truck," I said.
"What about it?" my dad asked.
I groaned. "It's not just a damn truck, is it, William?" I exclaimed loudly.
Ron's eyes widened. My dad put his head in his hands.
"When were you going to tell me that there was a damn alien robot living in our driveway? I mean, they might be the good ones but how do you know that it wouldn't for some reason want to hurt me?" I remarked.
"Because he would never," Ron stated.
I looked at him. "Do you speak alien?" He just shrugged.
"They actually speak perfect english. They're an advanced species, Azalea," my dad told me.
I groaned. "And the hummer and the semi? Are those aliens too?" I asked even though I knew the answer.
Ron nodded. "They prefer the term Autobots," he told me.
"Well, how many Autobots are there?" I asked.
"Eleven but there's only nine at the base," my dad told me.
I scrunched my eyebrows. "Where are the other two?"
My dad gave me a dumb look. "One's outside and the other is serving as a guardian to a young boy somewhere in California," he told me.
Then realization hit me. "So, the name Ironhide. .it's the truck's actual name?" I inquired. Ron nodded and I sighed. "This is so strange," I whispered.
"What is?" I heard Ron ask me.
"The fact that there's been an alien robot in my front yard for weeks and I had no clue about it. Like, does it not freak you out that your every move is being watched?"
My dad chuckled. "Doesn't effect me at all."
"Well, that's because you're closely acquainted with him and I'm sure Ron is too," I remarked.
My dad snickered. "You have no earthly idea."
Ron swatted his arm and I gave him a dirty look before sitting down on the coffee table.
"It makes sense though," I stated.
"What does?"
"It makes sense that he's a robot. Automatic seatbelts, the heat cutting on without either of you making a move to turn it on, the warm exterior. .everything about it makes sense."
"Yeah," was all that my dad said.
"I want to meet him," I told the men.
Their eyes widened.
"What?" my dad inquired.
"I want to meet Ironhide. I want to thank him face to face," I told them.
"Thank him for what?" Ron asked.
I gave him a dumb look.
"I thought I just established this. It wasn't a human that saved me. It was him and I want to thank him for it. And you remember me telling you that I wanted to meet an alien right?"
He sighed and nodded. "Well, I want him to be that one. No, actually I want to meet all of them."
My dad met my eyes. "Azalea, are you sure about this?" he asked me.
I nodded. "One hundred percent sure. Now that I know about them, what's the harm in actually meeting them? Especially the one that saved my life. I'm sure he's nice."
My dad laughed. "I'll see what I can do," he said.
Ron shot him a hard look and my dad shrugged.
"What's wrong, Ron?" I asked him.
He shook his head and I frowned. "Don't want me to meet him?"
"I do, actually. I just don't think you're quite ready for it," he told me.
I scoffed. "Why's that?"
"There's just going to be certain things that you won't understand and things that I know you won't like," he said.
I smiled. "I think it'll be okay," I assured him.
He just sighed and I turned to face my father. "So, when is this going to go down?" I asked him.
"Well, not right now because he can't transform in a residential area. It'll have to be on base after I've gotten clearance and after you've healed up a bit. You never know what could happen. They're quite the unpredictable group of creatures," he told me.
Ron grunted. "Unless they feel like dealing with me, I'm almost positive they wouldn't dare to lay a servo on her," Ron remarked.
I raised a brow but smiled at his over protectiveness. "And what makes you so sure that you can take on a group of Autobots?" I baited.
He grunted again. "You'll figure it out sooner or later."
I playfully rolled my eyes.
"Do you have a specific date set?" I asked him.
My dad shook his head. "It'll be a couple of weeks, I know that for sure. But first thing is first. You can not tell anyone about this, okay?"
I nodded in understanding and stood up.
"Well, if you'll excuse me, I have a shitload of homework to do. Thank you for telling me the truth," I said.
They didn't respond. I grabbed my curtches from the side of the couch and headed up the stairs, not ready for the great amount of work I had to do.
