Happy Birthday

*I don't own Transformers or anything affiliated with Transformers. I only own my original characters and plots. All rights go to Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg.*

The sun shone brightly through my bedroom windows. I opened my eyes and sat up. Suddenly I remembered what today was and I jumped out of bed and ran downstairs. Everyone was in the living room but it was particularly quiet as Braelynn slept on the couch. I had told her that she was more than welcome to sleep inside my room, but she refused, claiming that our couch was and still is the comfiest couch she's ever sat on in her life.

I nearly tripped over the last step, causing my parents and Ron to look at me. Ignoring them, I jumped onto the couch where Braelynn lay and began jumping up and down.

"Wake up! It's your birthday!"

Her eyes shot open, a startled expression on her face. She sat up and very rudely pushed me off of her. I ended up falling off of the couch and the distance from the couch to the floor when you were standing up is pretty far. A loud thud could be heard as I fell to the floor. Braelynn looked at me with wide eyes and held a hand out to me. I took it and she pulled me up.

"Still so clumsy," Ron said with a laugh. I smiled at him and sat down on the couch beside Braelynn.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

"I should be fine. But, today isn't about me. It's about you. You're finally seventeen," I exclaimed.

She laughed and shook her head. "Where's my present?" she smirked.

I gave her a look and stood up.

"Just knowing me is more of a gift than anything else. Now get up. We have to get ready to leave to meet the Autobots. After that we're going out to eat at your favorite place to which your parents will be joining us," I told her.

She stood up from the couch and I motioned for her to head up to my room. She did, and I turned to Ron.

"Are you taking us or not?" I asked.

"Yes, I'm taking you."

I smiled.

"Yay. Okay. I'll see you guys in a little bit," I said and turned around.

I ran up the stairs and into my room. Braelynn was dressing herself and I walked over to my closet to pick something out. I took out a grey tank top, my black and white checkered flannel and a pair of blue skinny jeans. After grabbing my black combat boots I headed to the bathroom to take a quick shower.

The shower took about ten minutes, so when I was done I got out and got dressed. When I finished putting my clothes on, I walked back into my bedroom to see Braelynn laying down on my bed reading a fashion magazine.

"Are you ready to go?" I asked her as I began to dry my hair.

She nodded and got up. I finished drying my hair and soon Braelynn and I were headed downstairs.

"Are you ready, Braelynn?" I heard my dad ask.

She nodded. We followed Ron and my dad out the door and to the truck. The two of us hopped into the backseat while my dad and Ron got in. Before long we were off.

"Wow, this is so weird."

I looked at my best friend. "What is?"

"I'm sitting inside a living being right now. Nothing could be stranger," she stated.

I laughed at her. "It's not as weird as you think it is. Trust me."

"Oh well. It's okay. I'm just glad that I get to spend my seventeenth birthday with my second family. Well, two-fourths of my second family and the Autobots," she said happily.

I hugged her. It was very rare that Braelynn and I ever spent our birthdays with our own families. We were always together and that's something I loved about our friendship. I loved the fact that something as simple as meeting the Autobots could make her so happy and that's why I did it. She was the greatest friend a girl could ask for and I loved her more than anything.

Braelynn's eyes widened as she stared at the building in front of her. We had just pulled onto the base grounds and she was now happier than ever. After passing through the gates, she seemed to be getting more and more anxious.

Ironhide pulled into the hangar and stopped, Ron motioning us all out of the cabin. I got out of the truck and went to stand by my dad who was already leaning against a post, Braelynn followed shortly after me.

Suddenly I heard the sound of bending metal and scraping metal. My dad pulled Braelynn and I closer to him so we wouldn't get in the way of Ironhide who was now transforming before our eyes. It was fairly interesting to say the least. Braelynn seemed to love it as well.

Ironhide stalked off, but not before turning to give me a smile. Even in robot form he was still the cutest thing I had ever seen in my life. If it wasn't for my dad not knowing, I'd happily show him that.

"This place is amazing," Braelynn said as she looked around the building.

Soldiers were walking around everywhere, some were even driving mini vehicles to and from the hangar. It had looked the same as it did over a week ago, only this time all of the Autobots were actually in their true forms instead of being in their alternate modes.

"It's quite magnificent, isn't it?" She nodded.

"Alright girls, let's go." My dad stepped away from his post and began walking further into the building. We followed him as he walked over to Epps. Braelynn saw him and immediately engulfed in a hug which cause him to laugh.

"Braelynn, it's nice to see you."

She pulled away and smiled at him. "It's so nice to see you too. I feel like it's been years," she said.

He laughed again. "That's because it has been." She just laughed and shrugged. "Are you ready to meet the Autobots?" he asked her.

She nodded anxiously.

"Well then. Let's get started."

I stayed back with my dad as Epps led Braelynn over to the Autobots. I watched as he introduced them to her. They all politely greeted her and when she turned back around to run over to me, a huge smile was plastered onto her face. She hugged me tightly.

"Thank you for bringing me here. They're all so cool," she exclaimed.

I laughed and my dad walked over to the opposite side of the room to start a conversation with Epps.

"Were they all nice to you?"

She nodded and I raised a brow. I would've figured Chromia would've felt indifferent towards her as she did me, but maybe it was just me. I still hadn't a clue as to why that was though. I had never done anything to her.

"That's peculiar. But, I'm glad you like them."

I heard two pairs of loud footsteps and looked away from Braelynn to see Mudflap and Skids walking over. Behind them, Ironhide was watching. I laughed at that but greeted the twins.

"Hey, little one. What's up? Ain't seen you in a good week," Mudflap exclaimed.

"I know. I miss you guys a lot. You need to come over sometime. Sometime when Ironhide isn't there, that way I don't have to worry about you two being killed."

I heard a grunt from the other side of the room and chuckled.

"Old man ain't gonna do nothing," Skids retorted. I snorted back a laugh.

"Never knew robots could be so temperamental," Braelynn whispered with a small laugh.

"They're all like that. Trust me," I assured her.

"Aye Braelynn. What's up girl?"

"Long time no see."

Skids and Mudflap continued babbling.

"We just saw each other like three seconds ago," she laughed.

"I'm just tryna make conversation," Skids said.

"You three are going to get along great. I can already tell," I baited.

All of a sudden there was an explosion in the hangar, followed by an even louder crash. The floor shook with great force causing nearly every human on the ground to fall over, myself and Braelynn included. Above us, Mudflap and Skids stumbled as they tried not to step on the two of us. I stood back up and looked to see where the explosion had originated from.

I gaped at the sight in front of me. There was a giant hole in the side of the wall. a few aircrafts were now in flames on the opposite side of the room.

"Ah, slag."

Skids and Mudflap ran out of the hangar.

"Azalea! Braelynn!" I heard my dad yell for us.

I turned to see him running towards us and as soon as he got over to us another explosion sounded. The floor shook even harder, sending us to the floor again. My dad shielded us from falling debris. I took a deep breath and stood up. The sound of gunshots filled my ears and I looked to see that there were now only four Autobots in the building, one of those which was Ironhide. He had his cannon out, aiming out of the other large gaping hole in the side of the building.

"What is going on?" Braelynn asked as my dad pulled the both of us from the ground.

"They found us."

My eyes widened.

"Who? What are you talking about?" I asked worriedly.

"The Decepticons. They've found us," my dad told me.

"Sideswipe, get the girls out of here!" Ironhide yelled to him.

How were we supposed to get out through all of this?

Sideswipe quickly rolled over to us before transforming. My dad pushed us towards the car. Another loud shot sounded and I covered my ears.

"You need to get in the car. Both of you," my dad said.

Braelynn wasted no time in getting in but I stayed to talk to my dad.

"What about you?" I asked, fear in my tone.

"I'm going to be fine. I promise. Just get in the car," he said.

He basically shoved me towards the vehicle and ran off. There was no sign of the Autobots. They had all fled, which sent a wave a worry over my body. Would Ironhide be okay?

I shook the thought from my mind and hopped into the driver's seat. This must have been the bad feeling that my dad had. Today had truly taken a turn for the worst.
