Big Day

*I don't own Transformers or anything affiliated with Transformers. I only own my original characters and plots. All rights go to Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg.*

The morning sun shone brightly through my window. I sat up slowly. The sick feeling had left. I felt so much better than I had yesterday. My fever was now gone, my nausea was now gone and so were my cramps; something of which I was thankful for.

Smiling in relief, I got up from my bed an headed over to my closet to pick out an outfit for today. Today I would finally head down to the base to meet the oh-so-famous Autobots, along with Ironhide, the bot who had saved my life. The nerves were still great but they weren't as bad as yesterday. I had managed to calm myself down after Ron's comforting words.

After regaining myself, I finally managed to choose an outfit. I picked out a pair of blue skinny jeans, a peach colored shirt, a denim biker jacket and a pair of tan ankle boots. Once I took a quick shower, did my makeup and hair, I changed. At fifteen minutes after seven, I was ready to go.

I grabbed my book bag and headed down the stairs and into the kitchen. I grimaced at the sight of my parents.

"Well, if it isn't Jackass one and Jackass two. Thank you two so very much for leaving me in my time of need," I baited.

My mom laughed. "Ron was here. You were perfectly fine," she said as she fed Anna.

I looked around the kitchen to see that Ron wasn't in his normal spot. "Where is he anyway?" I asked.

My dad looked up from a bunch of papers. "He's down at the base," he told me.

I gave him a look. "Already? Why?"

"Preparations," he smirked.

I nodded and sat down across from my dad. "And why aren't you preparating?"

"Your mom's dropping me off after she takes you and Anna where you need to go," he told me.

"Hm. Interesting. And what will you be picking me up in today?" I asked.

"Probably a military vehicle that isn't an alien robot. Just look for a black Suburban with the NEST symbol on the side of it," he instructed.

I nodded. "Sounds like fun."

He gave me a serious look. "Just listen to me. You had better hope you are ready for this. There's so many things that you're going to see and hear; things that just can't be explained and other things that are going to be hard for you to understand," he told me.

I raised a brow. "I think I'll be okay. There's no need to go all philosophical on me, dad."

He chuckled. "If you say so."

"Alright. Grab your stuff. We're leaving," my mom said as she placed Anna's baby spoon into the sink.

She threw the container of baby food into the trash can and removed Anna from her seat. I took Anna from her arms so she could grab her stuff and I headed out to my mom's car. I opened the back door and strapped Anna into her car seat before sitting down and buckling my seat belt.

My mom and dad walked out several moments later and got into the car, my mom in the driver's seat and my dad in the passenger's seat. My mom started the car and pulled out of the driveway. Soon enough we were cruising towards the school building.

The ride to school was mostly silent. Most of the time the only thing you could hear was a random song on the radio or Annabelle's childish murmurs. My mom pulled up in front of my school building and I opened the door to get out.

"See you in about seven hours, little one," my dad said.

I chuckled. "See you in about seven hours, jackass. Bye mom. I love you."

I hopped out of the car and walked into the school. Braelynn was stuffing books into her locker while I walked over.

"Hey, Brae."

She looked at me and smiled before continuing to put books into her locker. "Hey, Lea. Are you ready for today?" she asked me.

I nodded and opened up my locker. "I believe I am," I said as I took out my algebra and my chemistry textbooks.

I put them in my bag and shut my locker. Braelynn was struggling to stuff her books into her bag.

"You're still going to text me, right?"

"Of course I am. I have to tell you everything. Maybe one day you'll get to meet them too," I stated.

She smiled. "So long as they don't try to kill me, I'm good. Did you hear about those other attacks?"

I nodded. There had been a long list of different Decepticon attacks since my injury happened.

"I've heard about every single one of them," I told her.

She frowned. "It's quite tragic actually."

"Yeah, but they're doing everything they can to put a stop to them I assume."

The bell to go to first period rang. I bid my goodbyes to Braelynn and headed up the stairs. Hopefully today would go my moderately fast.

Seventh period was dragging on and on. I just couldn't wait to get out of this retched building and down to the base. Braelynn had a doctor's appointment so I was left alone in class with no one to talk to. I didn't mind though.

I was jotting down notes from my astronomy book to help me with the fifty questions I had been assigned for homework. Like always I had homework in just this single class, but hopefully Ron would help me with it when we got home later on tonight.

The sound of the final bell ringing caused me to jump up. Everyone quickly got up and piled out of the classroom. I jotted down the last of my notes before throwing my book and my notebook into my bag. I threw my bag over my shoulder and hurried out of the room and down the stairs.

The hallways were filled with students. Many were throwing books into their lockers while others were just goofing around with their friends. I walked to my locker, ignoring the immature students. I put in my combination and opened it up. I placed my history and my Spanish textbooks into my locker and shut it.

I stalked down the hallway and out the front door. I looked for a black Suburban with the NEST symbol on the side of it like my dad had instructed me to do this morning. Moments later, I spotted one across the street from the school though I couldn't exactly see who was driving. The windows were far too tinted. I just hoped it was my dad.

I sped over to the vehicle and walked around to the passenger's side. I opened the door and met the very anxious eyes of my loving father. He gave me a small smile and I climbed into the car.

"Are you ready for this?" he asked me as he started the car. I nodded, holding my breath as I did. "Just remember what I told you this morning, okay?"

"I've got it dad," I chuckled.

He smiled at me before taking off down the street. Hopefully this went well. .
