Kano State, Nigeria.
2017.

Finishing her look with a simple blush point court heels, she admired herself in the mirror. She is clasped in black pallazo, blush blouse and matching veil. She is ready to start her housemanship and so she stepped into her white lab coat and other necessities that will be needed.

She walked down the hallway and sat down on the dining table alone since she woke up earlier than everybody else. The maids started tripping in with a lot of food and fruits and set the dining table, she only smiled at them and continue doing whatever she is doing in her phone. She's stopped trying to befriend most of them because they don't smile much.

"Good morning, Doctor." She heard Masrooq's deep voice greeted as he emerged from the door they always use because it is faster from their Chamber.

She gave him a once over, he is dressed simply in washed jeans and black v-neck and some sneakers which made her question why Shaddad likes killing himself with suits and waistcoats when there is no policy that forced them to wear it. The man is always different from all other people. She shook her head, why did she even think about him again?

"Hello to you too, Doctor." She beamed at him, wishing she fell in love with either him or Harith because they are also dead handsome and nicer than their brother.

"I'm also here and I'm a doctor!" They all turn around to see Harith struggling to adjust his dress shoes because it looks too tight on his legs and Falak chuckled.

She never would've thought that the Princes had it in them to keep talking because the first time she met them, she was glared at. He is simply dressed in black dress pants, sky blue button up and his dress shoes. He looks dashing! If only wishes were horses, she would've rode Harith without any other thought. He is caring and his wife will be so lucky.

"Hello to you too, Doctor Harith." She stood up and bowed before sitting back down together with Masrooq who chortled at her dramatic self.

"Good morning, Doctor Falak. I hope you're ready for your first day as a doctor in our hospital?" He asked, sitting down next to her and kept his phone on the table so he could chat with her before the other join them.

"I'm so ready for this!" She grinned, thinking about how she is going to make sure Shaddad is always uptight and mad around her. Since he won't love her, why not make his life a living hell?

At the hospital, she was given an office coincidentally close to Shaddad even though she should not be in that ward. Her mother told her that she will be going back to her Ward if her office is arranged, her answer was abrupt so they are still getting it ready for her. She wasn't complaining though, not at all.

She took her note and blinker before making her way to Shaddad's office. She was not supposed to ask him what she should do, she should go to her mother but what's the fun? She breathed in and adjusted her stethoscope and placed a bright smile that could blind the sun's before knocking on his white oak door. No one is going yo stop her this time around.

The last time she tried opening that door five years ago, it was miraculously locked but this time, she know that he is inside and he doesn't know she is the one standing. Yes, the blinds in his office are closed and so he won't see her coming not that he would be able to stop her, she is now a doctor.

She didn't forget the fact that he hates tackling his things outside his office but that is the main reason why she wants to enter his office so he would be surprised. This wouldn't be the first time she is stepping inside, it shouldn't be a problem but she knew that he was going to make a mole out of a mountain! She likes the idea of it happening!

"Come in!" He thought it was Nawaar to tell him that he is needed in the paediatrics Ward to check up on some baby that still couldn't breath properly because his heart was weak.

He looked at the door when he didn't hear her voice but his eyes get stucked as he sink her in and suck the brightness out if her. They hadn't seen each other earlier in the dining room because he didn't get to eat there as he had an early emergency to attend to. He missed her outfit today but she looks in the outfit, a Hot doctor.

He'd grown only more handsome in the ensuing years, his haircut has changed, his shoulders broader, his cheekbones more pronounced and jaw squared even with the help of beard that fringed it, it is evident. He had an air of authority in his face that had been lacking in the twenty six year old man who had challenged her with condemnation lacing in every word he uttered.

"Good morning, Dr. Shaddad! Is there something I could do now?" She asked, resting her weight on her foot as she look straight at him, her voice ever so professional but he could hear the undertone of her tease.

"Not that I know of. But you can go to the Paediatrics Ward and see whether there is something there for you." Well, he knew how to dismiss her but this is the start so she smiled more brightly.

"Okay, sir." And she left, one mission done!

After that, she worked herself in the paediatric ward and even made a few friends there. She likes working there, the place looks plain for children and an idea popped into her head. She should've told her mother since she is the Ward Head but she wants to disturb Shaddad again and wants to show him she is not a baby.

She started walking back to his Ward when she bumped into someone and the injections she was holding fell, Falak panicked. She was told by kme of her professors that sometimes, the injections are not easy to find and she is afraid this one is amongst them. She released a sigh of relieve when she saw that they weren't broken.

"That was close, I would've gotten stranded by the statue!" She said in her mind but she should've known better, the woman she bumped into chuckled.

"Hello, I'm Nawar, are you new here?" The woman asked, taking the three injections that feel from the floor and inspected them before placing them on the tray she was holding.

"Yes, just started my house man ship." She forgot to say her name, she is just eager to move forward and keep those chatter.

"Oh, that's nice. Where are you heading to?" She pivoted and started making silent and small steps further to where Falak was going.

"To see, Dr. Shaddad!" A smirk curled her lips as a wicked glint shone in her eyes, making them glimmer a brighter darkness.

"We don't normally go to his office, well, except me." Nawar raised a brow and turned to look at Falak, seeing the glint in her eyes made her remember a certain someone who sat down comfortably in his office five years ago.

"Oh well, it's not like he has any other choice." It was supposed to be in her mind and; "I just need to see him urgently!" should've come out but it turned out opposite.

"Who are you?" Nawar asked out of curiosity, she is truly curious as to who this woman is. She knew that she was saying those things unconsciously but still, she looks too comfortable with his topic.

"I'm a paediatrician!" She thwarted away from the question again but not intentionally.

That's when it clicked, she is the Princess that moved to the Castle five years ago and the same girl who sat down in Shaddad's office. Nawar gave her a look from head to toe that may seem rude to some but not Falak, her attention is not even there. The girl has changed, not the village girl she hears about and the little girl that opened her books to do her assignment in his office.

Though she was a threat, she didn't think she was going to become a doctor and that too one that will get work in their hospital. Though she was a relative of theirs, if her result doesn't reach certain scores, they won't give her the job so she is intelligent. An intelligent village girl!

Nawar thought her dream will come true but after three more years of waiting for Shaddad to even say her name, that didn't happen and so she moved on and accepted the next wedding proposal that came to her. Maybe, she was not his and he was never hers and their destiny will never cross path, she is happy that she moved on though.

She now has a son with her husband and she won't trade a thing for Shaddad now. He is only her boss and she is his nurse, nothing has changed. Maybe, just maybe, this girl will be the one for him, they'd make a perfect match.

"Uhm, I will get going." Falak added sidestepping the woman that was weirdly staring at her with a smile, more like creepy one.

She knocked on his door for the second time that day and got the same answer, and she trudged in. Her heels clicked silently as she walked and stood by his office desk, she sat herself down on the chair and he still hadn't raised his head to look at her, he knew she was the one.

Nawar hardly comes into the room, she only says everything from the door but Falak always crossed her boundaries and walk further through the border and into the marked territory.

"I brought forth an idea." She started, crossing her legs as she dropped her pager on his table and her well manicured hands sat on the desk.

"What is it?" He really is opening up, he likes talking to her even if he didn't in the mood.

"I think we should paint some animations in the paediatric ward to make it look more of their home than plain hospital sky blue walls." She explained, tapping her long index finger on her finger unconsciously.

"I will think about it." He dismissed but she didn't stand up, she brought out her phone and started talking to Bilal before leaving.

She didn't do that to make him jealous and he wasn't.
