Kano State, Nigeria.
08:00PM . . .

"Yes, Abba?" Both sisters answered, their eyes downcasted as a sign to show respect, not only is he their father but also the Waziri in that great state of Kano. The one who gives advises to the King and that person has immense respect from the whole community and also in his home. Not only that, they are both afraid of their father and there is nothing he said that they won't do. Absolutely, nothing to argue about.

"You're both here because you all will be getting married in three months!" He explained straightforwardly. He was never known for sweet talking things to them, unlike their mother. He demands, ordered, said and never asks, what's the use of even asking when they'd do it either way?

"Okay, Abba." They whispered in unison, still head down. They won't stand up until he asks them to, so they kept sitting down on the floor, waiting for him to dismiss them like he does his maids and guards, not really like that though.

"You can go!" He dismissed, relaxing back on the sofa, biting into an apple like he didn't just finish declaring their destiny. What a day!

Jabrayah and her sister -Jaiyana, walk out of their father's huge parlour and straight to their beautiful cute room. Two twin beds are pushed to the wall, a small table in the middle of the beds with a lamp on it. There are two wardrobes full with their clothes and a pale pink desk, cream furry rug also spread across the middle of the room with small fairy-light type of thing up. Just beautiful room for the duo since they are almost inseparable when they were kids.

Their stepmother didn't let her children play with them when they were younger and their brother Ja'afar went to boarding school very early so they stuck with each other and feel in every space they will need that was why their room is only for them.

"You caused all these, you're the one who did this!" Jabrayah fumed, looking at her useless stupid sister who is two years older than her but acts so infantile and puerile than her, always thinking about bollocks, garbage, bullshit before anything sensible.

"Don't start your rubbish. We're getting married and that won't change. Don't think because I made a mistake I'll let you match me like this. You've been looking at me weirdly and I hate it." Jaiyana roared back.

"If you didn't sleep with that stupid ex-boyfriend of yours-" before she could finish her words, Jaiyana has landed a slap on her face, hard and very loud. She almost freaked out because her father hates violence, especially between the siblings. She also regretted slapping her sister, that happened only once when they were younger.

"Don't you dare talk about it. Didn't father forbade you from bringing it up ever again?" Jaiyana is now more furious than ever. Yes, it's all her fault but she can't just keep putting it in her face. She's never done that before, not even when people were taunting her and wanting her to break, she stood by her side.

"That wasn't a mistake. You did it willingly because of your stupidity and now look where we are. We'll be getting married." Jabrayah is not ready to give it up just yet. The thing has been bugging her since the day people started taunting her sister about it, she felt really bad.

A beautiful Friday came and their father summon them to his living room looking very furious and started landing slaps on Jaiyana. He didn't talk for good five minutes and was slapping his daughter senseless because of the shame she's brought to the family. They manage to build a great home with respect and everything but one mistake from her will bring the world against them.

"You did it! What I've been afraid of, you did it. You went and slept with that boy, huh? Didn't I ask you to leave him?" He kept slapping her and even their mother couldn't interfere now, she was crying by the side and begging to Lord not to let her co-wife hear this and come in.

They manage to keep everything low and threaten the guy, to never ever talk about it or they'd ruin his family. He promised not to and also begged for forgiveness, he didn't do it intentionally. Now that everything is out for the family, she hopes her co-wife won't hear about it. Hajia Safiyya can be a demon and will take everything out which Hajia Rauda is afraid of. She doesn't want her daughter's image to be ruined.

Jabrayah felt her heart tug at that. News spread rapidly in this city especially the families with title. Now that her father is the Waziri in Kano, he's wellknown and everyone will want something to spoil their name with. Jabrayah knew she won't be able to go to school for a week because of it and that makes her more sad, but she did went to school though. They manage to keep it very low and no one knows about it except the King.

"Yes, we're getting married and so what? Won't you get married sometime in future?" Jaiyana glare at her younger sister. She has no right to be mad and she knows it but she can't help taking all her frustrations on her sister.

"You should thank God that you're old enough to get married, what about me? I'm just seventeen for goodness sake. I should be in highschool still studying and facing my upcoming exams but look where I am, getting married in three months!" Jabrayah yelled at the top of her lungs.

"I'm sorry!" Jaiyana gave up. It's all her fault that her baby sister is getting married when she should be getting ready for West African Examination Council by that time but she ruined everything for them.

Maybe that is what God has planned for them but everything will look like her fault now. All she needs to do is, help her sister with the exams and cheer her up before they face their future husbands. Another question, who are those future husbands of theirs? She hopes they are nice people, for herself at least since she's the one who just lost her virginity doing nonsense.

"Wow! I wish you the best out of this. May Allah answer your secret prayers, wipe your secret tears, erase your secret fears and lift you to that position you always desire." Falak prayed, feeling that she should say something nice since she is emotional right now.

"Thank you." Jabrayah gave her first real smile since she met Falak. All those smiles and laughters are fake but this simple du'a that she said to her made her feel like she could face all her problems and Allah is with her.

"So, when's this grand wedding of ours?" Falak beamed, that is always her nature, she loves wedding! She couldn't wait for Marawiyyah's but now that she is not in the village, she has another best friend to think of.

"In a month." Jabrayah sighed, it's getting closer with each breath she is taking and that's what it feels. Maybe she should stop breathing for the whole month and see whether the days will move faster.

"What! So this happened a long time ago?" Falak almost whined, don't they know that wedding preparations should start taking place two months before the wedding? That is what happens in her village.

"Yes, I don't even know the husband and I'm afraid to ask my father." Jabrayah is not only afraid, she can't even face the man anymore. She feels like he's punishing her for another person's crime.

"Ask your mother then."

Falak promised to go to their house that very day after she asks her mother so she could help Jabrayah talk to her mother about it and even get to meet her sister Jaiyana. She felt bad that she didn't go to her house after they started their friendship. Knowing that Jabrayah is not always free and can't come to her house so maybe she should start going first.

"Mom, I want to go to Waziri's house. I have a friend there and I want to meet her." She said the last sentence very fast because of the questions dancing in her mother's eyes.

"Which one is it, Jabrayah or Juhainah?" Her mother asked since she knew only the duo could be her mate and are still in secondary school.

"Jabrayah." She answered, standing up from her mother's King sized bed. Her own colour combination is white and golden, very beautiful for a woman's and any Queen.

"Take two cars." Her mother ordered when she's at the door.

"Okay!" She hollered back and immediately ran to her room down the hall but bumped into Suwaid.

"Why so bubbly?" He raised a brow at her still uniform clasped body.

"I'm going to my new friend's." She beamed and continue to skip to her room with him in tow.

"Who is this friend?" He curiously asked, looking as she kept sky blue pearl trim belted button dress with pearl bishop sleeves on the bed and went to take a yellow veil from it's hanger.

"Her name is Jabrayah, and she lives around here." She answered before taking the clothes with her to the bathroom so she could change.

Suwaid didn't get why someone will get this excited to just meet a friend. Or is it because she doesn't have friends back in the village? That is not possible for someone like her though, so he will go with she is just being her happy self. He wanted to tell her some great news but that should wait till later when she is down from her sugar.
