Chapter 26 - Intervening Brother

Cameron was on his way back to his room when he got another text from his parents. It had been weeks since he last spoke to them, and he didn't know if he was ever going to be ready to see them again.

He donated the extra money they put into his bank account, he sent back the expensive gifts that were sent to his room, and he burned all of the letters with pathetic excuses that was sent to him.

Cameron shared this information with Chantelle because he wanted her opinion about the whole ordeal, and she agreed that it would be better to protect Jessie from finding out about them contacting him. He knew that Jessie would be even more upset since he had radio silence from them, and so Cameron thought it would be better to leave it how it was.

The hell that they put his brother through made Cameron desperate for Jessie to find his own happiness. When he came out with potentially liking Riley, Cameron was supportive because he wanted his brother to just be happy.  The fact that Jessie already had someone that showed his best interests, in more ways than one, was a blessing - even if he didn't want to imagine it in particular.

Cameron still had his headphones in when he stood outside his door. He couldn't hear the giggling inside as he opened it without stopping.

The image of his naked roommate and friend, pressed down onto his younger brother was an image that was scolded into his brain. He was thankful that the blanket covered their little modesty left, but Cameron already figured out what they were up to.

Cameron deliberately slammed the door shut to get their attentions, with both of them horrified to see him enter the room.

"Cameron!" Riley shouted alarmed.

"Fucking hell." Jessie whispered annoyed.

"Cover yourselves up." Cameron instructed sternly.

Cameron faced the wall and gave them a decent amount of time to sort themselves up. He turned around when he heard Jessie give him the all clear, and Cameron saw that they were both still naked in bed together - but with the blanket covering their waists.

"It's not what it looks like!" Riley immediately defended them, "Please don't freak out until we can explain."

Cameron pointed towards the floor that had both of their clothes thrown on it, and he regretfully noticed the empty condom wrapper on the bedside table. "Go ahead then."

"Riley, Cam alread-"

"I was just giving him some pointers!" Riley blurted out loud.

Cameron lips were sealed to prevent his laughter, as he masked his expression with a deadpanned look. "Really..."

Riley vigorously nodded his head as he failed to make the room laugh - to try and lighten the situation they were in. "Jessie was always a better learner when he would be doing stuff, especially more than reading or listening."

Jessie nudged Riley's arm and gestured that he should stop talking. Jessie was already embarrassed about having his own brother catching him having sex with another guy, so he didn't need Riley to add to it.

"This was all my doing, Cam. Don't blame any of this on Jessie, and don't hate him because of what I did." Riley begged.

Riley's pleading caused Cameron to eventually laugh at Riley. He pitied Riley, who thought that he would be pissed off at the pair. So he finally eased the pressure off Riley by telling him that he knew about them both already.

Riley's shocked expression was noticed by Jessie, as he felt himself get shoved by an embarrassed Riley. "You could have told me that Cameron knows! Now I just look like a dumb, hot, jackass!"

"Then I wouldn't have seen you squirm and look so innocent trying to protect me." Jessie pointed out as he smacked Riley's thigh. "I really appreciate how you did that without even thinking about it."

Riley sweetly smiled at Jessie as he grabbed that same hand and kissed it. When he saw Jessie's eyes light up slightly, Riley leaned his head forward and quickly kissed Jessie before he could stop him.

Cameron interrupted them as he slammed the door shut again. He made his presence known again by showing that he wasn't leaving the room, and dove onto his own bed across from them.

"Can we help you?" Jessie sarcastically asked.

"As much as I don't want to see you two like this anymore," Cameron implied as he pointed towards their naked bodies, "I'm stopping this from getting any further - to spare Olivia's feelings."

They both sheepishly looked at each other guilty as Cameron continued to explain, "I really am happy with whatever thing you guys seemingly have for each other - I really am. But I don't think it's fair to continue like this if Olivia still thinks you guys have a chance together, Jessie."

Jessie silently agreed as he then picked up Riley's shirt from the floor, and told him to put it on. Jessie did the same with his own shirt as he was coming to terms with how Cameron pointed out that the sneaking around wasn't fair to Olivia.

"We're sorry, I think we're both just too caught up in the moment." Riley apologised, "You're 100% right Cameron, we should be more sensitive towards Olivia."

Jessie and Riley finished putting their clothes on from underneath the blanket, and showed Cameron how they were dressed decently now.

"So... What do you guys want to do now?"

~~~~~~~~~~~
The three of them settled for a video games night. Cameron went out to grab some food, and he would meet up with Luke so the 4 of them would play together all night.
Jessie had just finished texting Olivia when he put his phone down to talk to Riley. "She's going to be back from her parents in two days time, so I guess I'll talk to her then I guess."
Jessie showed his anxiety as he could be heard tapping the desk with his fingers. The change in his pocket jingled, as he bounced his leg nervously about imagining the conversation he was going to have with her.
Riley put the book he was reading down, and got off the bed so he could approach Jessie. Standing behind the chair he was sitting on, Riley bent down so that his head hung over Jessie's shoulder.
With one simple kiss to the cheek, "You sure you want to do this?"
"I don't want to do this, but I need to." Jessie emphasised, as he then looked up at Riley and whispered, "You both deserve it."
Riley began to play with the string on Jessie's hoodie. He twirled it with his fingers as he asked, "Do you know what you're going to say?"
"No." Jessie whispered sadly. He was hoping that if it couldn't be planned, then it would just naturally come out when they talked.
"How much are you going to tell her?"
"I said I don't know!" Jessie yelled as he raised his voice.
The frustration was getting to Jessie as he knew he had to have this conversation with Olivia in person. He was still uncertain on how it would go down in a few days time, and the not knowing was terrifying him.
Jessie wanted to storm out of the chair and walk around the room to calm himself down. He needed to do something to relieve the anxiety and nervousness that was gnawing its way through his body.
But Riley had the same effect on him as he just held Jessie closer. Riley squeezed his arms to hug Jessie, and he kissed his cheek to apologise to Jessie.
"I'm sorry that I'm rushing you, I'm just nervous too." Riley whispered as he kissed his cheek once again.
Jessie took several calming breaths, along with the calming presence next to him. Riley loosened his hold as Jessie spun around on the chair to face him. "I shouldn't have shouted at you like that, I'm sorry too."
Riley offered Jessie a forgiving smile as he pulled his own chair up next to Jessie. "Maybe talking will help you process everything better?"
Jessie nodded his head as he swivelled on the chair he was sitting on. He wanted to plan how the conversation would go with Olivia so that he could prepare for anything she would ask, but Jessie wasn't sure if he knew how to answer them properly.
"What even am I anyway?" Jessie wondered, "I'm not gay since I don't really have interest in other men. But I'm pretty sure that I have some kind of feelings for you."
Riley couldn't help but grin back at Jessie as he admitted to having some kind of romantic feelings for him. The fluttering feelings inside of Riley were spilling out as he was gently spinning on the chair side to side.
"I'm still attracted to women," Jessie rushed out with, as he wanted to explain his thinking. "I still like boobs, ass, vaginas and everything."
"That's probably the gayest thing I've ever heard."
Jessie punched Riley for laughing at him, and Jessie had to suppress his own laughter so that it didn't look like Riley was right. The punching stopped when Riley held Jessie's wrists above his head, and Riley then pulled several mocking faces until Jessie laughed.
"We don't have to put a label on it." Riley told Jessie supportively - as a way to try and comfort his worrying nerves. "For what it's worth, you're just Jessie to me. And that's what I care about the most."
"You son of a bitch..."
Jessie wanted to be annoyed at how much of a sweet talker Riley was. He was saying everything that was making him fall head over heels for Riley, and it scared Jessie.
But Jessie wasn't annoyed, he felt a sense of happiness and safety.
Jessie was leaning forward to kiss Riley because he felt that he needed it. He was being magically pulled to Riley, and Jessie wanted this magic to take over him and let it do what he wanted.
Riley laughed as he held a finger up to Jessie's lips. "We're meant to be apart until Olivia comes back, otherwise Cameron would look at us funnily."
Jessie shook his head at Riley's obedience as he then whispered, "Cameron's not here..."
"He's probably got cameras in he-"
Riley's laughter was silenced as Jessie pulled his body to him. Grabbing him by the shirt, Jessie leaned his own head forward to passionately kiss Riley.
Jessie sought out more of Riley by shifting their angle slightly, so that he could push his tongue further into Riley's welcoming lips. He raised his own hands behind Riley's neck and made sure that he couldn't pull away.
The heavy shuffling of keys outside the door soon alerted them that someone was coming. Cameron had gave them a signal beforehand that he would do this gesture on his return, just so that neither him or Luke would catch them in the act again.
After a planned 5 seconds of door scratching noises against his keys, they both pulled themselves away as Cameron and Luke came through the door.
The sleeping arrangement for tonight was a lot more unexpected and uncomfortable for everyone.
Chantelle was currently at Harriette's home town earlier because of of a family emergency. They had left early in the morning, and Chantelle was being Harriette's friendly support system.
This meant that Cameron couldn't stay in their room tonight like he usually did, so he had to sleep in his own bed, in his shared room.
The minute Cameron got out of the bathroom and saw his brother in bed with Riley, he forced them to separate as he didn't want any funny business going on with him in the same room. "Floor... Jessie..."
"No." Jessie whined as he turned away from Cameron, and happened to face Riley instead.
"It's either the floor, or you share with me," Cameron negotiated, "I'm not risking my eyes or ears from becoming blinded and deaf."
Jessie mumbled several curse words under his breath as he lazily dropped onto the uncomfortable floor. "You'll probably just keep kicking me in my sleep anyway..."
"These small beds are too big for more than one person anyway." Cameron deduced as he turned the last lamp off. "Night guys."
"Booooo." Jessie chanted in protest.
Riley chuckled at Jessie's childish behaviour as he wished them both, "Good night guys."
With the room in complete darkness, only the breathing of the three men could be heard. Cameron had his eyes shut when he heard a 'thud' in the room. He opened them as he reached to turn the lamp on.
Cameron expected to look towards the other bed, and see Jessie back in bed with Riley. But in fact it was empty, with the blanket messily hanging onto the side.
He looked down towards the floor instead, and saw that Riley had rolled off his own bed to join Jessie on the floor.
Cameron wanted to protest at their behaviour, but it was silenced by Jessie's chuckles. "Night Cam!" Jessie said a lot more merrily.
Cameron groaned to himself as he turned off the lights without fighting them anymore. He let them have this night, as he was just secretly happy that Jessie was happy too.
Riley spooned Jessie as he held him on their sides. Sneaking a kiss to his shoulders, Riley whispered to him. "Night Jessie."
Jessie simply patted Riley's enclosed arms as he shared the same sentiment. The floor was cold and lumpy, but Jessie thought that it felt like a 5 star resort because Riley was holding him as they slept into the night.
