( Reminisce )
Shortly after making an very important promise to Midoriya.. you had to move away from Musutafu. Your grandma had gotten sick, and eventually passed away... leading to the recent transfer between homes. You were placed under your step father's wing, who was a proud scientist commencing research in i-Island among other popular scientists. Unfortunately, it was only him taking care of you, but at least he had two sons who could keep you company. They were only older than you by a year.
You couldn't keep in touch with Bakugou or Midoriya, though.. but you knew it was only a matter of time before you'd see each other again. Speaking of, the new life you had didn't take very long to come by. You returned to Japan now at fifteen years old, back into your hometown, hopefully you could see them again. You also knew for certain that Bakugou would be attending the greatest hero academy yet; UA High.
Planning to enroll at the school yourself, you were placed under recommendations thanks to your step father, and now you were on your way to being transferred to the prestigious academy. Fortunately, that dad of yours wasn't all that worried.. as you were starting school two days after they implemented the dormitories.
~[A/N]: (I know that the dorms were implemented when everyone had been 16, but just roll with this for plot reasons!)
Today was now the first day for you, and you arrived a bit late. Breathlessly, you placed your hands against your knees while becoming rendered out of breath, panting and scoffing heavily. Soon overcoming this, you wasted no more time and slid open the door, nearly slamming it upon doing so. Your body was stiff and locked together, feeling multiple stares rest on you.
A gulp had left you, meanwhile there was a certain tall teacher with messy black hair and dark circles around his bloodshot eyes, inevitably complimenting his extremely tired look. He lowered his clipboard. "Oh, there she is. Come in."
Shortly after bowing in an apologetic manner for being a few minutes late, you entered the room entirely, stopping right beside the podium. The students in the room quietly watched you, meanwhile you were too nervous to even search for Bakugou. "So, this is our recent transfer student. Treat her well." The tired instructor would speak, looking at you as you returned the stare. "My name is Mister Aizawa. We've been expecting you, so I've placed you in the back behind Ochako Uraraka. Uraraka, raise your hand."
Seconds after the demand, the young girl with a short brown hair and brown eyes would lift her hand followed by a genuine smile. You perked up, already feeling at ease, and quickly made your way to the back row.
"I'll get on with our new student's introductory. Her name is [F/N] [L/N], and her quirk is the ability to manipulate objects by minimizing and maximizing them." Multiple classmates cooed, highly impressed, leaving you to frantically rub your head. Aizawa lowered his clipboard from his eyes once more, seeming as though he hated his job; when really, he had a stoic face that we all knew and loved. "Now onto roll call.."
"Yuuga Aoyama.."
"Ici~"
"Mina Ashido."
"Here!"
"Tsuyu Asui..."
"Ribbit."
"Tenya Iida."
"Present."
The list went on. And every time a student replied to Aizawa's callings it took you little effort to look at them, whether they were beside you, or ahead of you. Until... you heard someone's name ring throughout your ears. It felt like you we're brought back down by reality itself.
"Katsuki Bakugou."
Your eyes widened ever so slightly. Quickly you searched around the room, happiness filling you. 'No way, he's in here?!' Leaning forward against your desk a bit, you came to spot him, however, it was far too late for he had already noticed you minutes prior. Bakugou looked into your direction intently with surprise- nearly allowing his feelings to surface.
"Katsuki Bakugou?"
Upon hearing his name called a second time, he'd shoot his head back forward. "Right here." Pink lines developed against his left cheek, unfortunately no one could have seen it from their view. Aizawa gave a skeptic look, nonetheless he continued as the daily roll call was nearly complete.
"Izuku Midoriya."
That name immediately made your heart drop. Just behind Bakugou sat Midoriya, who was noticeably nervous. "He-Here!" He spoke with a slight croak in his throat. You cupped your hand over your mouth, how could you possibly miss that green unkempt hair?! Currently sinking slightly in your seat, your heart fluttered.
The three of you knew.
The three of you were aware.
The three of you reminisced;
About the promise made years ago.
Your hand slithered up to lay against your cheek, unable to conceal your blush. 'H-Holy crap!! Why am I thinking about that now??! We were only kids!' Groaning softly, you drowned the lecture from Aizawa, and instead kept yourself busy by mental conflict. Sensing your instability, Uraraka would peer back towards you, her head tilting a bit.
Little did you know that in these two years.. her crush over Midoriya had developed even more. Had she found out about your childhood.. she'd be in a world of heartbreak.

>After class<
Finally, as class ended, you felt your heart sink even more than before at the mere sound of the bell. You were nervous to see them. It's been three years, what if they've changed? You stared down at your desk with not one word, daydreaming and contemplating on your next actions.
'Maybe I should go up to them casually..'
A shadow lingered right beside you, overlapping your figure. This sudden obscurity caused your eyes to raise, as well as your head. It was a male.. watching you with his green eyes inflicted in euphoria. They momentarily shined, gaining confirmation that it was you.
He reached to place a hand against the nape of his neck, his cheeks a buzzing red. "[Y/N]... it's been so long.." The boy would whisper almost inaudibly. Gazing at his unkempt hair, there was a warm feeling you felt from back then.
"I-Izuku?!" You suddenly shot up from your seat, eyeing him up and down. There was no denying it; it was the same freckled appeal from when you were younger. "It's great to see you again, too..!" Unable to maintain your emotions, you moved forward for a tight, long embrace.
Everyone in the classroom looked over, their faces written in surprise. "You've grown up so much, a bit more taller than me, I see!" You slowly moved away from the boy who sputtered frantically and uncontrollably, his eyes bloodshot from nervousness while his cheeks proceeded to deepen in color.
"Y-Y-Yeah! You too!" He then scratched his cheek as he batted his eyes. "You've gotten really.." In the midst of his sentence he suddenly broke down, making it known that he couldn't exactly say what he had in mind.
"Cu- Cu.. t.. Cu.. C-Cut.. C-C-..."
You profusely blinked. "Cut?.." Midoriya closed his eyes, noticeable balls of sweat rolling down his neck, inevitably soaking his uniform. At this point, his entire skin complexion altered into a beet red. But after calming down gradually, Midoriya gathered his courage and tugged against the collar of his clothing, gulping down the lump in his throat.
"....Cute.."
Immediately after admitting this, he felt mild tension drain from his body as his shoulders relaxed. He then discreetly balled up his fist near his waist as if he achieved something extremely crucial. 'I finally said it! I should scratch that off my bucket list..' Mentally, he began to celebrate, meanwhile you lightly giggled at his tenacious efforts that paid off. "Thank you, really."
There was another subject Midoriya desperately wanted to broach... but that needed to wait. His attention which was on you had now moved somewhere else; where he heard the sound of shoes approaching.
Of course, you looked over too, and during the time you felt your joints connect, tightly halting you. Your chest squeezed in blind sight to another familiar face. There it was.. that frisky, ash blonde hair and sharp red eyes that got to know you well.
Katsuki Bakugou.
He stopped right beside Midoriya, His hands deep in his pockets while giving you the blankest look, wondering what to say.
The atmosphere descended into becoming very awkward. The rest of the students sweatdropped, wondering how to go on about the situation. As strange as it was, they knew the three of you had some sort of connection.
Bakugou eventually parted his lips, but nothing came from it, only an abrupt stutter that ended very sharply. His eyes had been more soft than the glares he sent to his other classmates, and he nearly wanted to embrace you in that moment.
In order to break the ice, you awkwardly forced another smile, and then grasped one hand onto your forearm. "You've gotten handsome too, Katsuki. And more taller! Not a surprise really, me and Izuku have been shorter than you since we were kids." A brief nod left you, causing nearly the entire class to flinch.
'Wait, they're childhood friends?!'
They all thought in unison. This revelation urged a few to approach, such as a male with spiky red hair and red eyes, leaning against Bakugou while his arm remained on top of his shoulder. "You know this hot head? He's so rude I didn't even know he had friends besides us."
Bakugou clenched his teeth, growling in attempt to intimidate the young male, but to no avail. "..I'll kill you Kirishima, not another word, damn it!" He sounded both angry and embarrassed, as what went through his mind was how your outlook was towards him.
"Uh, I dunno, we all know that your personality is complete garbage mixed with ego. Don't try and cover it now." Spoke another male who held a rather sly, mischievous tone during the moment. His yellow hair danced as he cropped himself against Bakugou's other side, smirking like an idiot.
"Shut up! I-I'll blow the both of you to hell, you hear me?!.." While looking at you, he stuttered unintentionally, earning small laughter from the two.
To prevent matters from worsening, Midoriya quickly retracted everyone's attention. "Th-this is Kaminari and Kirishima, they're really nice and easy to get along with." He gestured towards them, the two replied with casual greets. Kirishima also noticed your eyes were glued onto him the majority of the time. He was about to say something, but unexpectedly your friend with green eyes spoke up again. "Anyways [Y/N], could I.. talk to you for a moment? Alone?"
You didn't mean to stare at Kirishima.. you simply thought he seemed appealing. There wasn't even a drop of shame or embarrassment within. As you now looked returned focus back at Midoriya, yet another nod came from you, making his face brighten up with what appeared to be a genuine smile.
Completely subsided in terms of presence was Bakugou. Previously he was fending off the two boys that leeched onto his side, but now he felt regret since he didn't manage to act fast enough to talk to you more. No matter what your intent was, you were still hurting his feelings.
He was also very aware what Midoriya called you out for.
Blankly watching the both of you leave, part of him desired to intervene, but another part of him wanted him to remain and wait. Bakugou... didn't see this as any normal person would, though; he saw it as an detriment, or something far worse than an game over. He couldn't stop himself from advancing, eyes currently fixated on the closed door you last passed through. Endless thoughts wafted throughout his mind, one of which, was concerned about your birthday..
His deadline was in under one month.
