( Dilemma )

"[Y/N].. Please don't tell me.. you've forgotten.."

The moment you snapped back into reality, you were laying against a comfy mattress as if everything had been a dream. Your senses were only just beginning to loosen up, and in time you sat up, frantically gazing around.

Where you sat in was the hospital's ward.

It was empty, and not a single soul lingered in the room. Leaving you alone in perplexion and silence.

Confused, you pressed you hand up to your face, lips quivering in displeasure. "Was that all a dream? If so, then... why am I.." You'd release a sharp gasp before reaching to grasp onto your shirt, gazing at your attire in panic. "W.. What..? I'm wearing something completely different... And in a hospital gown, to be exact... What's happening?"

A loud knock shook you to your core. There was no way you'd get up from the comforts of your bed, not after the horrors you thought were real. Gulping deeply, your expression was far from nervous. In spite of just waking up, you looked like you'd been deprived from the standard amount of rest, as well as stressed. As pale as a ghost and baggy eyes puffed up with what looked to be tears, trembling body, and weakened knees. You looked a mess.

"Hello? Miss [L/N]?" Called a voice, who opened the door. Her hands carefully handled the rims of the tray in her hands, keeping it balanced as she approached you slowly and calmly, a warm smile greeting her beautiful face.

She stopped beside your bed, the tray now being placed against the medical desk next to you. On it, was a glass of water which was halfway full, and two pills; one pink, and one blue. Carefully, she handed them towards you, and you took it from the nurse with appreciation. "Please take this, it will help speed the process of your recovery."

Doing as told, you took the glass that had also been passed to you, though glancing down to the medicine in a skeptic glance. "What's this? An advanced type of Tylenol?" The nurse's smile grew wider as she chuckled gingerly, before bringing her index finger up to her lips gently.

"Doctor's orders."

Upon her sentence, she lifted the tray and budged it below her armpit, watching as you consumed the medication at ease. Finishing your water in mere seconds, the nurse took it in her care, and then stepped away. "Thank you for your cooperation, Miss [L/N]. The doctor will be with you shortly."

You could hear her heels click after every step she made towards the door. But before she could part it open, someone else had already beat her to the touch, for a familiar pinkette with alien horns staggered back in surprise, accidentally bumping into Jiro, who was behind her.

"Ah! Hey- watch it!" Jiro would call out. Meanwhile, Ashido moved aside, blinking profusely as she stared at the woman intently. "O-Oh.. sorry about that ma'am..! Please, go ahead!" Ashido said politely, forcing a smile as the other passed them slowly, walking down the narrow hallways with no other words spoken.

Jiro gently shoved her inside, as Kaminari tilted his head beside her. "Why're ya starin' so hard at that lady?" He started moving his legs on inside, sliding the door closed behind them. You watched your classmates in surprise, unable to bring yourself to speak while the tomboy with earphone jacks gently laid a vase full of attractive flowers against your bedside desk.

Ashido reached up to rub the back of her fluffy hair, a nervous smile lingering on her lips with closed eyes. "Well.. I was just thinking... That nurse has a twin, right? I mean, If you noticed it at the receptionists' desk earlier..."

"Another nurse looked exactly like her!"

Kaminari cooed. "Ah! They must be twins? Or maybe dopplegangers? Actually- Nah.. that'd be too much of a freaky coincidence.." Upon his words, he could hear the pinkette giggle. "Right?!"

That's when a forced, as well as stifled cough trespassed Jiro's mouth, moving the pair's attention towards what their priority had been. "So, [L/N], feeling better? You fell into another coma, only this time you were out for a week."

You widened your eyes, strengthening your posture in an instant. "A- A week?!! What happened?!" The three in the room tensed up, causing you to do the same. "Well..?"

Kaminari broke his gaze away. "Apparently, you've been going through some really deep stress and anxiety attacks, to the point your brain flunked out on you. So that's why you're here..." He crossed his arms afterwards. "If I had to be honest, everyone's noticed that you've been changing."

Ashido intervened with a nod, looking down as her once lovely eyes washed over with immense grief. "Yeah, and we don't blame you... After all that's happened, I'm afraid I'm trying my hardest not to break down.."

Refocusing our [E/C] hues down toward the sheets on top of your legs, your lips pursed, and you went silent for a second. "I see.. th-then.. how is... Ser-" The sentence that you predisposed to say had suddenly vanished as if it were a candle being blown away by the wind.

Your eyes went mute, cold, blank.. until you returned your eyes toward your friends, more specifically; to Kyoka Jiro. Your movements being so abrupt that it startled her, she sweatdropped at the sight of you clinging onto her sleeves desperately. "H.. Hey... I... don't.."

Everyone looked to each other in confusion, yet Jiro drew herself closer to you, extremely puzzled and in belief that you were in some sort of pain. Before she could utter a word however, you released her sleeves, gripping onto your [H/C] locks. "I don't..."

"Remember who I was... talking about..."

Kaminari knitted his eyebrows, approaching the side of your bed. "Maybe it's uh, some typical amnesia? Trauma? After all you just woke up from your long coma.." He tried to ease you, however you shook your head, raising your twitching eyes back up at them in attempts to push back your tears. "No! That's not it! I was suddenly.. Thinking about someone.."

Every time you tried to materialize the person's face, voice, or even attitude, it just got blurrier and blurrier. Harshly, you collided your fist against your forehead, while your other hand continued to bunch up your locks tiredly. "It was important! They were important! Be.. Because..-"

"Hey! [Y/N], over here!"

As your classmates attempted to calm you down, amidst the worried tones a single voice was vivid. It came from the open window behind you, and this prompted you to move away from your friends, pulling the fluttering curtains to the side to stare outside.

Hues going agape, it was out of natural instinct for you to extend your hand, the other one pressing against the windowsill as you focused all of your weight against it.

There was no way you could've been seeing things, right?

There he was; a familiar male with dark green hair, who'd been waving toward you with a large smile.. and the ones who accompanied him; Uraraka, who harbored peary brown eyes and brown hair, as well as Todoroki who simply stared ahead in silence.

They were walking in their regular attire, and it also seemed as though they planned to pay you a visit. "Izuku, and Uraraka.. th-they're.." Too excited to think, your body had a mind of it's own, for you listlessly attempted to climb from the window in spite of the long distance below. "Izuku..! Uraraka!"

Tears ran down that cherubic face of yours, too relieved at the sight of them doing well. You remembered when Aizawa had revealed certain photos of Midoriya and Uraraka's corpses, but now things were thrown underneath the bus instantly. Denial was at it's peak.

But before you could fall forward, a pair of arms locked around your shoulders, pulling you back followed by a deep breath of relief. "[L/N]! What are you doing?!" Shouted Kaminari, whose eyes were bloodshot from fright while he huffed heavy breaths.

In the moment you realized you were in the male's hold, you kicked and screamed, flailing your arms in an furious and desperate attitude. "They're here! Please, let me see them!" The other male refused, and instead strengthening his hold. "If you're talking about our classmates then hold up a sec! They'll be up here!!"

He then glanced back to Ashido, who slid her foot back as she watched in horror. "Go and get the nurse, hurry!!" Nodding her head affirmatively, she turned around just before rushing out of the room, her heart pounding fast. Jiro on the other hand, raced over to aid the both of you.

Your weak state and extreme fatigue led you to lose energy earlier than anticipated, and while the gusts of wind manipulated the curtains only to block your view of the two students you laid eyes on, your sporadic behavior had suddenly shut down.

"Wha.. What...?"

Everything now laid still. There'd been a harsh thud in your chest while staring at the two who you thought were alive and well.. however it dawned on you that it was only Todoroki; the aloof male who in which continued down the path, yawning to himself tiredly.

Due to Kaminari's strength, the both of you had collapsed. With your back against his chest, you did nothing but laid there, staring toward the ceiling. "I.. was certain.. That they were there... I.. I heard him.."

The male you crushed beneath your weight breathed heavily, bullets of sweat running down his face profusely as his head pressed against the slick tiled floor. "Wha.. What are you talking about? You.. You.. could've died, [L/N]..."

At least he managed to save you. Things could've been worse.

Jiro brushed the fabrics hanging from the window off to the side, her shoulders rising up. "Why does she keep saying they? It was only Todoroki-"

Ashido bursted into the room alongside of the nurse from earlier. The both of them walked on inside, and with their help they successfully guided you back to the bed. "Is everything okay, Miss [L/N]? I heard you suddenly began to act irrationally." The nurse knitted her eyebrows, but you were still at a loss of words, reduced to a muttering mess.

The others exchanged glances with one another.

Kaminari pressed his palm to the back of his neck. "It looks like she was only seeing things. I.. actually.. overheard her mumbling on about Midoriya and Uraraka, two classmates of ours who recently passed..."

His words made you sit up immediately, shocked. "No! I saw them! Izuku.. He... He spoke to me! They aren't dead!!" You looked over to Ashido, "You believe me, right??"

While waiting for the pinkette's reply, the nurse placed a hand to your shoulder in a form of small consolation, before she relaxed you against the mattress at ease. "You need to calm yourself." She then reached into her pocket, extracting a syringe. "Here, I'll inject a potent medicine to hopefully soothe your body, as well as mind."

As she said this, she'd done so without your consent. However, having regard for the nurse's status you allowed her to do as she pleased. This window of opportunity granted Jiro the time to part her lips, looking away. "...This might be a bad time for you, [L/N].. But Prinicipal Nezu is going to hold a funeral with Midoriya and Uraraka's family. Misses Midoriya asked you to attend, mainly because you had a strong connection to him, as well as Bakugou..."

She clenched the fabrics of her thin shirt. "But..! I don't think you should make an appearance at all...!" Unexpected gazes pinned themselves onto Jiro, making Ashido act on impulse. "What are you talking about?? Of course she could attend their funerals! We also didn't tell her what happened to Se-"

"I'm not going." Interrupted [Y/N], silencing everyone. Confusion washed over everyone. Of course, you had your reasons, and the atmosphere was practically batting you down just to give your reasoning. To prevent matters from worsening, the nurse forced a small smile, and with her hand behind her back she gestured for your friends to evacuate the room quietly.

Having caught the discreet command, Kaminari yanked onto the tomboy's collar, dragging her backwards. "...Actually, we have to meet up with Aizawa and Allmight since we're helping them out with some stuff. But in the meantime, try to rethink your decision, [L/N]!"

"Hey, Kaminari! Let go of me!!"

Ashido spared the both of you glances with uncertainty. It looked as though she wanted to comment to consult a matter, but she bit her tongue, closing her eyes as she followed the others to the door. "..Get well soon..."

Click.

The woman lingering next to your bedside reached for a small bandaid to press against the small bruise where the injection sourced from. Her eyelids narrowed. "How are you feeling?" She asked you. You simply remained silent, gazing at the window over your shoulder, waiting for the moment you recovered the ability to speak.

"My arm hurts, and so does my head..." You whispered. "Can I.. can I stay here forever..? I don't want to go back to the dorms anymore, or see anyone.." Feeling depressed, a sigh heaved past your throat, making the nurse shake her head. "I'm afraid I cannot allow it. You're actually scheduled to be discharged tonight, since someone called and offered to pick you up."

"Someone is.. picking me up?" You glanced toward your phone, before reverting your eyes. 'It must be because of my dad.. there is someone whose supposed to take me back home, after all..'

With a gentle hand touching her face, the nurse tilted her body a bit, looking to the floor. "It seems so. They claim to be your cousin. And now that I think about it, I overheard a boy talking to one of my coworkers, asking to deliver a message for him."

Your.. cousin..?

You don't have any cousins, as far as you knew.

You gulped. Habitually, there was only one person who struck your mind. One who was full of a complex amount of intentions, whether it'd been murder, rape, or assault. He was the reason you could no longer think correctly. He was the reason as to why you were such a mess, and he was the reason why... you no longer had the strength to fight. "What... " Your voice cracked. "What message..?"

The woman gladly replied, though it took her a moment. She turned around, facing away from you, all while she stuffed her hands into her pockets belonging to her mandatory uniform. "Ah.. I think it was something along the lines of..."

"I'm coming for you soon?"
