Christmas Special!
Ah, yes; the wonderful holiday time of year, a day for festive traditions and cold weather. Bakugou's Christmas spirit however, was dangerously low. Every year, it was the same thing; Wake up, open presents, eat dinner, sing carols. He was sick of it.
But one person did make it better. It was you.
Since your return, he looked forward to this joyous event, and even sent the first text questioning your whereabouts.
You:
>[Y/N], Where are you? You didn't get lost, right?<
My beloved is typing...
My beloved:
>No, I'll be fine lolol<
My beloved:
>I ran into Izuku on the train. He said he'll join us ice skating!<
Of course. It seems like he couldn't go a day without you mentioning his name. It also seemed like he was everywhere you went, meeting you by coincidence. Though, knowing you, you didn't seem to realize that he was using every opportunity he had to get closer to you. Bakugou knew this, and so he came prepared.
The black leather gloves he wore weren't meant to keep himself warm, you see.
He tugged against the collar of his shirt leisurely, and then adjusted his tan fur coat as the toe of his shoe tapped against the concrete, staring toward your message intently. It took him a while until he sent his response.
You:
>I see. Well, come quick. It's cold.
He turned off his phone and then moved to tuck it into his pocket, but in the midst of this, he'd open his coat's pocket a little bit to make sure the object inside of it remained intact, and then narrowed his eyes onto the gift bag beside his feet.
"I can't let Deku ruin my day out with her. I planned to give her present to her while we're alone." He pressed a hand to his neck, cracking it eerily. "And I'm not going to let anything stand in my way from doing that."
A few minutes of standing there eventually came to an end, at least he thought it was worth the wait. He'd lift his head the moment he heard faint steps getting closer, soon after would be an feminine voice. "Katsuki! Sorry if I'm a little off schedule!"
You walked up to him, accompanied by a timid Midoriya, dressed nicely in a real green jacket, red beanie, as well as scarf, complimenting the red color of his shoes perfectly. You on the other hand, wore a white trench coat, white beanie, and a long sleeved, black turtleneck shirt just like Bakugou.
"You had me waiting in the cold for a while. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't drop our date." The male would say, giving Midoriya an sideways glance after you spiked.
Midoriya seemed surprised, overwhelmed to the point he pursed his lips, unable to speak during the moment. " ..You didn't tell me the both of you were on a date, [Y/N]!!" He then turned the way opposite from you, stiffly proceeding to walk away with an smile contorted into zigzags.
In spite of your mild shock, you grabbed onto Midoriya's arm, halting him while being oblivious to his jealousy. "I didn't know this was a date, either! But could you stay? We're all friends!" 'It's more like I don't think I'll be able to stand being alone with Katsuki if he considers this a date!'
Suddenly stopping, Midoriya would look into your direction, then at Bakugou who seemed calm despite his heavy unbalance within. "Well.. uh... since you asked me to.." His uncertain green eyes strayed down to the gift bag beside Bakugou, and then gradually back up at him until he locked eyes with him.
The male with ash blond hair looked away, staring towards you as he lifted the bag gingerly and moved it into your path. He earned your glance, and the moment you saw it, you'd gasp, eyes twinkling like stars. "You got me a gift?!" Your excitement was replaced by guilt in a matter of seconds. "I didn't think we'd do a gift exchange, so I didn't get you anything... But, don't worry, I'll get you something great after this!"
Although he didn't prove his appreciation, he'd lower the bag in his hand, head turning. "Don't worry about it, you idiot. I'm not giving this to you until we're done skating, anyway." Now his body was turned completely, and he started to enter the ice skating stadium without hesitation.
"Come on Katsuki!! Not even a peek??"
"[Y/N], I think its best if you don't annoy Kacchan, or else he'll incinerate your gift... I know from experience.."
As the three of you reached inside, you were greeted by workers who'd guide you to the skates. For you, it took a while to find your correct shoe size, since your feet were rather small. You remember having to use Midoriya as support to keep you from falling as you walked to the ice rink with the skates on, it was extremely difficult to maintain balance.
Don't get me wrong here- you had experience ice skating, but honestly a little slip needed to jog your memory. By the time your skates touched the ice, you wobbled involuntarily. Midoriya struggled to keep you upright, because he too failed to maintain himself. "Have you, uh, ice skated before?" He asked, staring toward your focused eyes glued to the icy ground. "I have! And you?"
Midoriya froze up a bit. "Well... no... I didn't want to tell you because I thought you might've laughed at me-" He was cut off by the sound of your laughter, forging a deep shade of red against his cheeks. Embarrassed, Midoriya shuffled his eyes downwards.
Waving your hand, you moved the other off of his shoulder, finally managing to keep yourself upright. "Don't worry, I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing at the fact that you didn't want to tell me. The reason sounds silly."
Your response caused his eyes to shimmer with that same glow as before, something you knew and loved. "So then... would you teach me how to properly skate? You don't have to if you don't want to!"
"Then don't." Spoke Bakugou, appearing beside Midoriya, standing there at ease. You blinked wildly, before quickly glancing to and from the men. "Wait- Don't listen to him! I'll help you!" Of course he'd expect you to say something along those lines, which is why he didn't feel any surprise. Bakugou would click his tongue, taking a lunge forward to skate deeper into the rink. "Just don't get in my way, you two."
Feeling slight admiration for him, you stared at Bakugou as he began to skate effortlessly, hands tucked into his pockets as his eyes kept themselves forward. Midoriya on the other hand, sighed, and then looked toward you. "[Y/N]? Are you ready?"
Snapping out of it, you nodded eagerly, taking gliding forward while snatching Midoriya's hand in the process. "Follow my lead! You just slide your feet, and make sure to lean your body forward as you do so!"
"Like this?.." The male with green eyes asked, sliding one foot before the other. He found it hard to concentrate since he could feel the warmth of your hands, it was next to impossible to retain his focus if this continued. After all, it felt like you two were a couple.
Impressed that he got the hang of it so early, you smiled subtly, watching him in a skeptic manner. "Yup, just like that!" You encouraged him, unable to realize Bakugou's head was turned into your direction, discreet in his pensive glance. You'd feel Midoriya's body spike however, as you both heard numerous voices belonging to women who passed by.
"Such a cute couple!"
"I've always dreamt of a relationship like that, honestly.."
"Babe, come here and hold my hand too~!"
"Ahh, I miss my youth..."
Put into a misleading situation such as that would make anyone falter. Nervously grinning, the one beside you widened his eyes just a bit as he felt your previously tight grip around his hand loosen.
Soon, your hand drifted toward your body, attempting to refocus your attention, despite the warmth in your cheeks. "Okay, you can try it on your ow-"
"[Y/N], don't let go of my hand. Please." Midoriya would utter, surprising you to no extent. Hand latched around yours, he pulled you closer to him, nearly causing you to stumble in the process. "Ignore them. It's ... It's fine if you oppose what they're thinking.. Just know.. that I don't."
While you couldn't fully comprehend what that meant, you noticed your hand flung away from his own, as he went stumbling onto the ice. Midoriya cracked his head back, that elated expression collapsing underneath his shocked apparel.
"I told you not to get in my way." Started a stern voice, skating in front of the both of you only to twirl around to face you. It was Bakugou, who carried the same scowl. "Wha- You were in my way! You obviously bumped into me!" Cried his childhood friend, however Bakugou paid no heed to his objections. "Stop moving so damn slow, then."
Midoriya tried to glare, only it was countered by his friend's intense hostility. You giggled to lift the mood up a little, and even helped the fallen male up to his feet. "You are okay right?"
While Midoriya nodded, Bakugou kept his eyes glued to his skates, until they shifted away as he returned to skating. "Alright, let's try this again, nice and slow." You announced, maintaining the same rhythm as before. It hadn't dawned on you that he was rather irritated, after realizing how stiff his skating became due to the fact his laces were loose.
And so, switching up to move behind him, you caught him by surprise as you pushed against his back a little, allowing the momentum to build up within his increased speed. "H-Hey!! What are you doing?! My laces are-"
Stiffening, Midoriya clamped his mouth shut, coming to spot the outer walls surrounding the ring up ahead. Hitting it and embarrassing himself wasn't something he wanted, which is why he sharply turned, praying to the gods that his shoelaces wouldn't affect him.
Luckily, it didn't, however it led to an unfortunate turn of events. An agonizing buckle came from his right ankle, immediately making him release an abrupt yelp.
Midoriya fell onto the platform, wincing while biting harshly against his lower lip, keeping his pained groans to himself. 'This.. this hurts..!! But.. I've felt worse..' He looked up, spotting both you and Bakugou closing in. Worry heavily engulfed you, it seemed like you were also guilty. "Izuku, are you okay??!"
He'd look down. "I think I sprang my ankle.. But don't worry! It's not your fault! I accidentally turned too sharply.." To you, it felt like it really was your fault. You played too roughly, and should've waited until he was more comfortable.
Quiet for a minute, you leaned down, helping him up by wrapping his arm around your neck. "Katsuki, help me out here.." Of course, Bakugou followed your directions in a blink of an eye, grabbing hold of his other arm.
Decidedly, you took him to the nearest train station, too frantic to realize that you could have called for an ambulance. Midoriya was on the same page as you as well. This was a decision you never knew you would regret so much.
Surprisingly, the station was empty, perhaps it was due to the occasion. Nonetheless, as you left to pay for the tickets, Bakugou announced he was going to the restroom, leaving the male alone for a while. Midoriya gazed at his ankle, poked it a little, and then flinched.
"Like I said.. I've felt worse..." He'd turn his attention away and beside him, noticing a bag coated with christmas decorations, meant for you. Pursing his lips, he averted his eyes. "I hope Kacchan isn't upset that I practically third wheel-ed.." While he said that, he heard footsteps behind him, making him turn around slowly. "Huh? You're back already, [Y/-"
The male suddenly widened his eyes, too late to react to the swift movement that he managed to spot. To add to the pain he already felt, Midoriya shot back, landing against the ground, choking gasping violently after an tremendous amount of agony came from the side of his neck.
His eyes watered in a matter of seconds. He desperately tried to understand what was going on. Looking to the source of his pain, he recognized an small switchblade shoved into his skin, leaking with his own blood. With his gaped eyes, he lifted his trembling hands, cupping them around the blade. 'Stop! Stop bleeding! I don't wanna die!!'
Freezing momentarily as someone's shadow hovered over him, Midoriya looked up, spotting Bakugou, who simply stood there, enjoying the sight of him writhing so deliriously. "At least you realized that you came between us. But that wouldn't stop me from doing this either way."
Stepping beside him, Bakugou would have quickly removed his knife from Midoriya's jugular, leaving the other speechless as he stressfully pressed his hands against his spurting wound. "K-Ka-.. Kacch.. an..." He stuttered, "Pl.. Ple- Plea.. se..!"
Bakugou never liked beggars. He thought he deserved a slow, and cruel death like this. Which is why he leaned away, his leather gloves soaked in a crimson ooze. In the last moments of his last few breaths, Midoriya stared into his glacial and distant eyes that seemed to transmit an burning red glow, while his became deeply sullen. He could hear, however, his final sentence before his senses relinquished completely.
"Merry Christmas."
[Christmas Special - END]
