( Ambushed )

|1 more day until your birthday.

The following morning, you got up later than the rest of the students. It didn't take much effort for the word to spread about the latest tragedy regarding your step father.

Aizawa, your homeroom teacher, principal Nezu, and the other staff among UA understood the emotional struggle you were going through, so your tardiness was excused. About to enter the classroom, your lips dreadfully petted together.

Regretting your decision immediately, you considered the gruelling day ahead of you, chomping down your mood even further.

In the moments you slid open the door, a brief, yet loud noise frightened you to your core, it was like being silenced by a muffled grenade. Blinking, you noticed party streamers floating around your lonesome self, and eventually it occurred to you that there were other class 1-A students crowding around your figure as well.

They looked eager, admittedly... and exchanged glances with one another before Hagakure finally shook her arms frantically. "One.. Two.. -" A few students perked up, storming up to you even more with dazzling eyes, prancing with excitement.

"Happy Birthday, [Y/N]~!"

They all shouted in unison. You looked extremely puzzled. Pausing a second for your mind to catch up with your words, a nervous feeling churning in your stomach. With this sort of surprise, you should've felt immense happiness, but there was...

Something off about today.

Sweat gingerly rolled down your cheek, attempting to speak until Iida cut you between. "We are all aware that your birthday is not today." He pushed up his glasses, "But Midoriya informed us about your upcoming absence, which is why we decided to throw your party today instead."

You looked over to your childhood friend with freckles, who immediately looked away from you, urging a flare of agitation. Nonetheless, you turned back to the crowd, smiling warmly. To be honest, this party was something you needed to relieve your tiring emotions. "Thank you, everyone."

There was a dark shadow that suddenly inched closer to you, taking form of a menacing bird with sharp, glowing yellow eyes. Between it's beak, looked to be a nice gift, perfectly wrapped just for you. "Please, help yourself and accept this gift, [L/N]." Said Tokoyami.

You smiled lightly, a little flustered to the gift handed to you. And to your surprise, it wasn't only this individual, but the others as well. They had bombarded you with gifts, and the only ones who hadn't handed your own were your two closest friends.

Aoyama looked to Midoriya, dazzling with sparkles that never once failed to surround his figure. He leaned close to him, his hues seeping with curiosity. "Aren't you going to give that to her?" He mentioned, aiming his focus onto the small satchel now frantically tumbling in the other's hands.

"Wh-What?! Of course I am!" Stuttered Midoriya, attempting to conceal the present behind his back. His freckled cheeks went red, though it wasn't out of it's typical love, it was out of anxiousness.

He looked over to your being, surrounded by everyone else, somewhat guilty for what went on inside his heart. 'I've been wanting to tell her, but..-' Eyes widening as he shifted forward, the impact of his shoulder being hit by another's earned his attention. "Oh, sorry.."

Bakugou, who was the cause of their slight collision, scoffed and proceeded with angry steps toward the commotion, with his own confession in mind. "Move it." He commanded to Kaminari, meanwhile the electro-boy himself brought himself aside with an agitated expression. "Does it kill you to show some manners?"

The male with red eyes getting closer, his features would noticeably seem more subtle, the box in his sweaty right hand hidden away from your view. And after every step, things would get a little hazy, and his footing felt unbalanced. By the time everyone could finally acknowledge Bakugou, things made a drastic turn.

The lack of balance he thought to be an illusion.. was in fact a reality.

The floor beneath their feet shook, and while no one had time to process a drop of thought, smoke filled their noses, as their glass windows shot shards into their direction.

Screams inevitably became carried with the wind, and the students found themselves separated as certain parts of the floor were destroyed beneath their feet. The entire establishment was quaking, and just near them, the loud noise of another detonation took place just one level above their heads.

You'd yelp as one step led to a crack below, and in just a few seconds your heart fell from your chest, as you now began to sink into the crashing pit of cement, glass, and broken structures underneath.

This didn't go by unnoticed however. You didn't even get the chance to blink, for there were two men in the distance racing to your aid. The one on the left, with green hair, and the one on the right, with ash hair. They looked absolutely panicked, horrified about the thought of allowing you to slip past their fingers as they reached out to you. And although they shouted towards you, you suddenly became inept in hearing their cries.

'Is this...'

Everything was happening so quickly that at this very moment, this one moment, things began to proceed in a more slower time lapse. Your hand, which kept itself extended for someone to take, did so desperately, trembling as tears took it's time in leaving your eyes, floating above you.

Looking at the men who got even closer than last time, despair trapped you, shaking you to your very core. Just what was going on? What did you do to allow this to happen?

'How I'm going to die?'

Bought back to life at the feeling of warmth enveloping your wrist, a strain preventing you from falling struggled in remaining still, for he exhaled a tired grunt as he also began to slip from the cliff. Sweat trickled from his face, his eyes pinched close, and his teeth grinded together. "[Y/N]! I got you, so hold on tight!"

His free hand tried to keep him in place but had been failing miserably since it was wearing off it's grip in a matter of seconds. He'd lock eyes with you however, attempting to brighten the mood with an relieved grin.

Izuku Midoriya.

Eyes swelling up with tears, you'd cry senselessly, knowing that Midoriya was too stubborn to simply allow you to succumb to the depths of darkness. While you didn't have the time to scold him, he focused his attention onto his body, taking in a sharp breath as his quirk was set into motion. Using his strength to heave you up to the surface it one swift tug, your body was brought past him, however he had to be used as a sacrifice.

The last of his supporting hold of the floor let up, and the force of yanking you to the surface caused him to slide off. Midoriya knew this would have been the result, however he'd rather be the falling lamb instead of you.

He choked on air while he closed his eyes, trying to evaluate his possible outcomes. 'I.. I can survive this! Maybe if I use one for all to cushion my landing, then it'll work! Or I could soften the impact by kicking into the air with my shoot style! I have to try! I have t-' Snapping him out of his thoughts, was Bakugou, who held onto his ankle tightly.

Bakugou's red eyes were wide, and the movements he made to save Midoriya was simply out of instinct. While the other was relieved, his green hair dangled as he stared at him in return, unsure as to what move to make next. "Kacchan! Be careful! You can fall too!!"

Of course he was aware of that part. Bakugou proceeded with effort trying to pull him up however there was something that caused him to abruptly stop. Ultimately, the male with green hair looked confused, and even uttered out to him. "Kacchan..? What are you doing?"

Bakugou could no longer listen to him, for he was deep in mental conflict. His irises hinted with an peculiar insanity, going by unnoticed since you were busy trying to motivate yourself to move.

'Do it.'

'This is the perfect opportunity.'

'Kill him.'

'Let him fall.'

'He'll die.'

'He's in your way.'

'[Y/N] can only love you.'

'He has to die.'

'His confession wouldn't matter.'

The roof came down to collapse, and amidst all the chaos, he had been rapidly having unnerving thoughts. Midoriya started to feel concerned, and then felt moving intimidation from Bakugou's dark, pensive smirk making way to his lips. His fingers loosened around his ankle slowly but surely, giving his classmate the time to start to shout in fear. "What are you doing? Kacchan??! Hey!!"

Maniac laughter was about to build up in his throat, especially after witnessing such a pathetic, shocked expression such as that.

'Let him fall.'

'Let him fall.'

'Let him fall.'

'Let him fall.'

'Let him fall.'

"Katsuki?"

You spoke, directly beside him as you stared at the other below. "Let me help you bring him up! We have to hurry, more debris is coming down!" Grabbing hold of his other ankle, Bakugou noticed your desperate tugs in order to pull him up, distinctly feeling an burdening quantity of envy wrapping around his mind.

Midoriya kept still, eyes wide as he reminisced to his childhood friend's apparel of detestation. 'Was he.. About to let me go?' His teeth clenched together, eyebrows burrowing. 'No! That can't be! Maybe I'm just seeing things wrong here!!'

The noise of the platform you and Bakugou sat on cracked, causing everyone to quiet. It felt like mere exhale would result in the unstable floor to shatter. Midoriya, who realized this, started to open his mouth in a panic. "You guys have to let me go or else you'll fall with me! Please!" He shouted. But for you, his pleads went out the opposite ear.

"No way we're going to let you die! We can pull you up and get out of here!"
You protested, shortly after looking to Bakugou. "Right?" He noticeably flinched upon hearing his name, reluctantly beginning to drag him up. "Yeah.."

Unfortunately for the three of you, taking his warning for granted stirred up consequence. Not a second after you both tried to pull him up in unison, the damaged floor made you feel uneasy as it rumbled and filled with fractures until the both of you found yourselves collapsing along with the cliff. Shrieking, you felt as if this had been the end for everything. While the timing could've been any far from perfect, you dreaded the thought of dying a day before your birthday.

Midoriya couldn't worry about his safety, for your vulnerable being pushed him beyond his limits. As a electric glow sparked around his figure, his eyes gazed around, searching for something.. anything.. that could possibly help him.

By the time he could get himself to act off of impulse, however, his eyes would widen in shock at the sight of the other male with red eyes, managing to bring you into his chest gently, one arm behind your head, while the other against your back.

You didn't know how else to react, though your eyes filled with sudden tears that you didn't even realize were present. He held you so tightly, occurring to you that he didn't want to let go. And in spite of the dangerous situation you all were in, all you wanted was to get a glimpse of his face from the other side.

It was as if your prayers were answered, for Bakugou leaned his head away, revealing his expression of sore sadness. You wanted to know what was going through his head, but before he could acknowledge your confusion he pushed himself closer, while the other male far below grew even more pale.

It took seconds for everything to process, the only thing that made you realize what was happening was the force of warmth pressed against your lips, leading you to feel arrays of complex emotions.. His hate, envy, despair, and lust. Your face had been far from red, and so was his, but for some reason, your heart trembled in pain.

Bakugou was.. kissing you.
