Love lots -AV

Scott and Mitch managed to pry themselves from the bed in order to shower. The first thing Mitch noticed was the black band around Scott's ankle.

"How did I not notice that last night?" He asked.
Scott shuffled away, slightly embarrassed that his boyfriend was staring. "Well, we were kind of engaging in things that focus a bit higher on our anatomy. Not to mention the fact that you're always dazed after we fuck. And last night was the first time we'd done anything in months. You were just distracted."
"Can I ask how it works?"
"Uhhh, it's just an ankle monitor. It tracks where I am so they can find me if they need to. It also lets them see that I'm where I'm supposed to be when I'm supposed to be."
"Oh... can you take it off?"
"Yea... if I want the police showing up and carting me back to jail."
"So that's a no. How long do you have to wear it?"
"At least a year. Don't worry I'll make sure to wear long pants when we're together."
Mitch looked at him oddly, "why would you do that? It's almost summer in Texas, no way you need to wear long pants."
"I just don't want people to think differently of you because you're with someone like me."
"Someone like you as in an amazing man that loves me no matter what? Whom I love with all my heart even if he has to wear some black anklet?"
"So you wouldn't mind me showing it?"
"Not at all."
Scott walked back over to his boyfriend, pulling the brunette into his arms and kissing him softly. "You're amazing, did you know that?" Mitch just giggled, tucking himself into Scott's chest.

After breakfast Mitch drove Scott to pick up Avi and Kevin so the three boys could make their parole meetings. It was the most convenient way to get all three boys to Derek's office. It made it even better that Mitch didn't have school and Kevin was staying out for the week to be with Avi. The three delinquents would start back to school the next week, all three now enrolled in Arlington Academy.

Mitch pulled up outside the Kaplan's house and beeped the horn, it was seconds later when the two boys emerged hand-in-hand and made their way to the car. Mitch noticed that the pair had matching accessories, same as Scott's. He was proud that his friends had chosen to not hide. They had no reason to, after all, it was none of anyone's business what they'd done. Mitch made a mental note to practice being tough so he could defend Scott and his friends if it came down to it.

As soon as the second couple was settled in the back seat, Scott cranked the radio and Mitch pulled out of the driveway. Derek was waiting with three cups when the boys arrived. He wasted no time greeting Mitch and herding his parolees into the single bathroom. Mitch wasn't quite sure how all three fit in the small restroom but he assumed it was easier for Derek to watch them all go at once then do the one at a time deal. Still it was several minutes later when they all emerged. Must have been Scott's shy bladder, Mitch thought.

"Guys, let me take Kev first since he'll be quicker. They I'll call Avi and Scott one at a time. Sound good?" The boys nodded at Derek and everyone but Kevin took a seat in the waiting room, Scott of course directly beside his boyfriend.

Avi stared at the office door after Derek had pushed it through. It was the first time in nearly twenty-four hours that he and Kevin had been apart, save for showering which his mother refused to allow them to do together. Avi didn't see the issue, they showered together for months in juvie. Still, Kevin had told him to let it go and he had.

Kevin was with Derek for all of ten minutes when the door opened and Derek called Avi in next. Kevin smiled at his boyfriend as the passed in the doorway, Avi returning the gesture. The brunette took a seat across from his parole officer ready for the third degree that Kevin and Scott had both warned him about.

Derek leaned back in his seat, crossing his arms before he spoke. "How are things Avriel? You doing okay?"
Avi nodded, a little unsure how to answer. Yes, he was fine but it felt a little like an out of body experience. "It's hard to comprehend how I'm out."
"I suppose it is. You were in for quite a while."
"Over a year."
"That wasn't your original sentence though."
Avi shook his head, "no, it wasn't. I got in trouble a lot those first few months."
"I see. Broke some guy's wrist, another one's nose, fractured one's rib. And that's just the tip of the iceberg son. What was up with the fighting?"
"Honestly I don't know. I was mad." Derek looked at him questioningly, prompting him to continue. "I guess I was just pissed I was in juvie. I didn't understand why I was in jail."
"You were in juvie because you had loaded guns on school property. Guns that didn't even belong to you."
"I wasn't going to do anything. I had them because I forgot they were in my bag. Honest."
"That doesn't matter in the eyes of the law. Why did you have them anyway? I've never figured it out. Your school record shows you were in trouble for fighting a few times but nothing major until last March."
"Someone who I thought was my friend gave them to me to keep. We used to go shooting in the woods. I didn't know they were stolen. And I honestly forgot they were in my bag."
"How did you get caught?"
"That so called friend turned me into the office. The police stormed into my history class and took me to the ground. I was arrested, spent the a few nights in jail, got out on bail, went to trial, got convicted. And here I am over a year later."
"I see why you're so careful with who you trust." Avi nodded his head and Derek continued. "But you trust Kevin and Scott?" Another nod. "Why?"
"They've showed me I can. I lived with them for months and they've proven that they won't do me like Blake did. Plus I'm kind of in love with Kevin so I can't help but trust him."
"I'm glad we had this little talk. I feel like I know you better. Anything else you want to talk about?"
"I don't think so."
"Well, you've got my number if you need me. Go send Scott in please."
"Yessir."

Avi stepped out of the office calling for Scott to take his place. The blonde took the seat that had been previously occupied by his two friends. He had done this all before. He knew what was coming. "How are you doing Scott?"
"I'm good."
"Really?"
"Yup. I've done this twice before. I should be a pro now"
"But never after being in for so long."
"True... still same concept."
"I suppose," Derek nodded, opening and looking through the file on his desk. "I see your previous parole officer was John Wilson?"
"Yessir, both times."
"John was a good man, too bad he retired. Any trouble so far?" Scott shook his head no. "Still planning on the prom with Mitch tomorrow?"
"If you still say I can go."
"I see no issue with it. Curfew is still ten though Cinderella. If you're not your carriage will be a police cruiser back to juvie, understood?"
"Yessir! Thank you!"
"Of course. Now let's get you boys off."

Derek walked back with Scott to tell the boys bye. "Mitch keep these guys out of trouble for me." Scott tucked Mitch under his arm as the small boy nodded and giggled. "I'll try Derek. They can't get in any more trouble, I've gotten kind of used to having them all around."
"It's been since yesterday Mitchie," Scott said.
"Still I like you guys out and free so we can hang out." The three boys smiled at the smallest of their group.
"Well, I'll see you all tomorrow. Same time. Get out of here and be good please." They said their goodbye and made their way to Mitch's car, ready to enjoy their first full day of freedom together.
