Love lots, -AV

Conversations picked back up as the couples cuddled back together. Josh interrogated Kevin some more trying once again to ensure this boy was good enough for his baby brother.

Soon an hour and a half had passed and Rashad made a show of standing and clearing his throat.

"If y'all would like to join me, I have some treats in my office."
Mitch looked at the clock, "no, no, no! You told us two hours we still have thirty minutes."
"I know. I wasn't speaking to you or Kevin. I wanted to give you guys some alone time."
"Ohhhh.... I'm sorry."
The warden chuckled, "no problem. But I do need those presents back from Avi and Scott. Your families can take them home."

Avi reached to unhook his necklace but his hands were pushed out of the way by his boyfriend's. Kevin unclasped the chain and placed a kiss on Avi's neck before placing the gift in Avi's hand. The brunette looked at the charm, kissing it before gently laying it back inside it's box. He passed the box to his mother and asked if she would let Kevin take it home for safekeeping. She smiled and nodded.

Scott sighed deeply and stared at his hand, he really did not want to take his ring off ever. In the few minutes he'd had it, it had quickly became one of his most prized possessions. Mitch took Scott's hand in his own and brought it to his lips kissing his palm, the tip of each finger, and finally the ring. He slid the ring off and replaced it in the box.

"When I get my necklace back I'll put the ring on it so it'll be with me all the time. Okay?"
"Okay..." Scott kissed Mitch's lips gently before pulling away and running his thumb along his now naked finger.

Everyone stood to bid the boys goodbye, hugs and kisses were passed around.

Avi and Josh were the last to pair up.

"You'll stay out of trouble? Won't you Av?"

Avi nodded, his voice failing him as tears welled in his eyes.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you bro."
"Not your fault."
"Doesn't matter."
"When are you coming back?"
"I don't know. It took a lot to get me home this time but I had to see you. Mom and dads said you were fine but I know how they are. And you don't write me enough."
"Letters take too long to get to Israel."
"Liar. Write more. Let me know how things with you and your boy are."
"I will. I love you Joshua."
"Love you too Avriel. I'll try to make it back for when you get out but I can't make promises."
"Okay."

Josh wiped the tears from his younger brother's cheek as he stepped back and allowed Kevin to hug Avi from behind. He saw the way Avi relaxed into Kevin's embrace and he wasn't worried about his brother as much anymore.

The Kaplans, Scott's guardians, Danny, and Rashad made their way out of the trailer. The warden closed the door with a warning glance, reminding the boys that no funny business was allowed.

The remaining thirty minutes were spent in two separate bubbles. No words except for whispered "I love yous" could be heard from either pair. Each boy was completely entranced by his partner.

Too soon they heard the lock opening and Rashad stepped in, shackles and cuffs in hand. Collective groans were heard by resident and boyfriend alike.

"Say goodbye quickly. I've got two guards ready to take Scott and Avi back to their cell so I can take Mitch and Kevin back to my office."

Kevin and Avi stood, the smaller boy instantly wrapping his arms around his boyfriend. Kevin bent to kiss his deeply. When he pulled away he looked straight into the green eyes that he fell for every time he saw them.

"I love you."
"Always?"
"And forever."

Scott stood and pulled Mitch to stand against his chest. He nuzzled his head in the crook of Mitch's neck and kissed him just below the ear, a spot he knew was so sensitive. He felt Mitch shiver and giggled before finding his way to his boy's lips. Mitch was breathless when Scott pulled away, he loved it when he was kissed like that.

"I love you Mitchie so fucking much."
"I love you too Scottie... unconditionally."
"Will I see you soon?"
"Tomorrow hopefully."
"Good. I miss you."
"I miss you too Scott... so fucking much."

Scott pecked his lips once more before allowing himself to be pushed against the wall by one of the guards Rashad had let in. The warden directed Kevin and Mitch toward the door each looking back and stealing one final glance at their love.

Kyle and Danny had offered to take Kevin home before dropping Mitch off. The first few minutes of the car ride were quiet save for the occasional sniffles coming from the boys in the backseat. Eventually Kyle couldn't handle it anymore and began to talk to Mitch about next semester at school. Mitch eventually including Kevin in the conversation by asking if he had been approved to attend the public school in his area.

"Uhh... no actually. Umm it looks like as of right now I won't be going back to school. Fleetwood kicked me out, the public schools say I'm too much of a liability, my parents can't stay home to homeschool me. I'm kind of out of options."
Dan spoke up, "have you considered Arlington Academy?"
"What is that?"
"It's where I work. I'm their consular. I can pretty much guarantee your acceptance."
"No offense but I doubt any private school is going to accept me."
"It's not a private school. It's actually a state funded alternative program."
"Alternative program?"
"We offer courses in a different setting compared to most schools. Smaller classes, more structure. We have a lot of kids right out of juvie."
"Would I still get a high school diploma? Not a GED or anything like that?"
"Nope... high school diploma. I can even help look into some colleges that would accept you."
"That's true Kev! He did it for Scottie," Mitch interjected.
"Do you think you could talk to my parents about it?"
"Of course! It really is a fine school. Our team works hard to make sure students succeed."
"I just want to finish high school and go to college. I don't want to disappoint my parents anymore than I already have... and... and I want to be able to take care of Avi when we get older."

Mitch reached over and laid his hand in Kevin's shoulder. Kyle soon spoke up again.

"You know they are proud of you right Kevin?"
"They used to be but I don't think so any more."
"They were telling us at lunch. I don't think your father truly understood what you went through to come out to them. I think he realizes now that him being unsupportive means him possibly losing you. And he doesn't want that. He loves you and he's proud of the man you've become. Accepting the consequences of your actions without complaint, standing up to your family for the one you love. There's a lot to be proud of. You're a great kid."
"Thanks Kyle."
"No thanks necessary. Just make sure you give your dad the opportunity to make everything right."

Kevin nodded and thumbed away his tears. He took the box with Avi's necklace and hooked the chain around his own neck. He needed his boyfriend close but for the moment this would have to do.
