Mitch woke up the following day excited and ready to see his boyfriend. He hadn't gone the day Kevin was released because he knew Scott would need to take care of Avi. Then yesterday he had a doctor's appointment to check on his weight.

He'd been eating more, not a lot but more. The doctor still felt he should be gaining more. Mitch left feeling disappointed. He was trying, he honestly was. But he just couldn't gain any weight and he felt like if he forced any more food down than he already was, he would throw up.

That morning however, he felt nothing but happiness. He had told Kevin that he would just pick him up from his house and wait with him during his parole meeting. Kevin tried to object saying Mitch was already being too generous but Mitch figured it would be good practice for when Scott got out.

Mitch wasn't sure what he expected Kevin's house to look like but it certainly wasn't what he was seeing. And he hadn't even gotten to the actual house yet. He pulled up to a gate where a security guard was standing in a small building. The man asked what he was doing and he replied looking for the Olusola residence. The man buzzed him in and directed him to which of the giant mansions belonged to his new friend.

He was about thirty minutes early so Mitch parked his car and made his way up to the front door to knock. He was almost scared to touch the door for fear of breaking it. Finally he found the doorbell and hesitantly pressed the button. A middle aged woman with a heavy accent answered the door quite shocked to see the small brunette.

"May I help you?"
"Uhhhh... Kevin... I'm looking for Kevin."
"Of course. I will call Mr. Kevin down."
"Thanks."

Mitch smiled as the woman made her way upstairs. He looked around the house that was even more ornate on the inside. He had never seen so much marble and gold trim in his life. It was mesmerizing. After a few moments the woman reappeared followed by a boy that Mitch recognized as Kevin though they'd never been formally introduced.

"Uhh... hey Mitch... I see you've met Olga, she's one of the housekeepers."
"Yea."
"So you want to get out of here. We still have a while but rather early than late."
"Okay, let's go my car's outside."

They both bid goodbye to Olga who smiled and waved. Once they were seated in the car Kevin started to speak.

"It's good to finally meet you Mitch. Scott has told me so much about you. You know he's head over heels in love. No denying it."
"It's nice to meet you too. And Scott talks about you and Avi a lot too. I'm glad he got put with two people that at least tried to make things easier on him."
"We were there for each other. And I'm glad Av has him now. Also, I apologize about the house and everything."
"Nothing to apologize for. You're loaded though."
"No... my parents are. Yea, I have a trust fund and everything but I don't even know if I can touch that money anymore."
"Why wouldn't you be able to if it's yours?"
"I did just get out of juvie... there are a lot of stipulations to money in those accounts. I haven't really discussed that with my parents."
"Ohhh... ummmm... can I ask you a personal question? If I'm overstepping please tell me to shut up and mind my own damn business."

Kevin laughed at the smaller boy but told him to continue.

"Your parents have all this money. Did they not get you a good lawyer? How did you end up there?"
"Well... Scott had a damn good lawyer too if I remember correctly."
"True, but he also had two previous stints in juvie. A lot of his sentence came from the fact that the judge looked at his history."
"Yea... well I didn't have a history but good attorneys only do so much when the person accusing you is a politician and best friends with the judge. Seven months for a first time offender is nearly unheard of but here I am."
"You did seven months?"
No, I did eight... an extra month added on for fighting."
"What is with you boys and fighting all the time? Is it all that pent up testosterone?"
Kevin chuckled, "probably. But you know why Scott beat the shit out of Alex. The boy deserved it. Scott didn't think you were going to make it. He was heartbroken. When he came back that day after seeing you in the hospital... man, I don't even want to remember how he looked."
"But I'm okay now..."
"I remember when they told him you'd woken up. He was overjoyed. Speaking of how did that case turn out? I haven't heard Scott say."
"That's because it hasn't happened yet. With Scott it was two weeks and he was in court. It's been months with Alex and things keep getting pushed back. To be honest I just want it over with."
"I don't blame you. It didn't take long for my case either, maybe it has something to do with the juvenile versus the adult system?"
"Yea maybe. I'm just glad Alex turned eighteen and Scott and I don't have to see him now. Speaking of, want to finish the story of why you were fighting?"
"Not much to tell. I was in solitary for sleeping next to Avi. I took the blame because he cannot afford any more setbacks. One of the other guys said something about me and Avi being 'fucking fags'. Guards told him to shut up and he didn't. Called Avi a fairy... Avi, my Avi, strong and hairy. It pissed me off so I jumped him."
"Wow. You're protective."
"From what I gather so is Scott."
"Very much so. I love it."
"Avi calls me his protector. I'm bigger than him but I know he could protect me too. I think he just likes being taken care of. And I love taking care of him. Though he's been there to care for me more than once over the past few months."

Mitch just looked at how the boy lit up when he talked about his boyfriend. Soon enough they had arrived at the small building where Derek's office was. Kevin told Mitch he could come in and wait while he took care of his business.

Mitch wasted his time by scrolling through his phone, looking back through old messages, so glad he had gotten in the habit of screenshotting anything extraordinarily sweet from Scott. The past few months had been hard on him and those texts helped keep him going. He visited Scott at least five times a week. It was a lot of gas but his parents were very generous when it came to giving him money for such things. Still it wasn't enough, he wanted to hold him and cuddle against him and be with him other than in a room with people constantly watching.

Christmas was barely a week away and he had debated on whether to buy Scott a gift. He knew he wouldn't be able to open it until May but it went against everything he had not to shop for his boyfriend. Which is how he spent the last twenty five minutes of Kevin's parole meeting browsing through the internet for the perfect gift. He would wrap it and keep it until Scott was able to open it.

He still hadn't decided on anything when Kevin entered the waiting room with a broad man.

"Mitch this is Derek my PO."
"Nice to meet you sir."
"You as well. Kev and I chatted a bit about you, hope you don't mind. I like to keep track of who my parolees are in contact with."
"No problem sir."
"So you've got someone inside too?"
"Yea, my boyfriend as well."
"Well, you two are experiencing similar things so help each other. Here's my card if you need anything Mitch, or your boyfriend when he gets out."
"He's still got a while but thanks. I appreciate it."
"No problem. Now why don't you two hit the road. It's Saturday so extended visiting hours."
"We're gone. See ya tomorrow Derek."
"Bye Kevin. Nice to meet you Mitch."

And with that the boys were on their way to see their men.
