Love lots -AV

The topic wasn't brought up again. Though in the several days that had passed Scott thought of almost nothing else. That Friday evening was what the quartet called family dinner. The amalgamation that made up their "family" though none were kin by blood gathered in the dining room at the plantation and ate and chatted about their lives and what had occurred during the week. The family also included everyone's significant others. Making the large room feel a lot cozier and less stuffy than normal.

"So for this week's family dinner, we are so happy to have Scott here. This is his first official weekly dinner and I for one and just glad he's home." Kyle toasted. "A brief history of this little gathering. When I moved in with mema years ago, she always insisted that we have dinner together. Often times since my friends were never far behind me, they were included. When mema passed I promised her that every week we would gather in this room and eat together. And we have with few exceptions. So welcome Scott and Mitch

Scott sat between Mitch and Rashad who was beside his girlfriend. Everyone was laughing and enjoying the good company. Everyone except Scott, he was distracted and everyone could tell. Mitch, however, was the only one that had an inkling as to why the boy's smile never seemed to meet his eyes. He reached under the table to grab Scott's hand and squeeze causing his boyfriend to look over and grin slightly.

After dinner everyone scattered about the house, Scott tugging Mitch upstairs to his room. He took a deep breath after pushing the door too, taking a moment before he turned around to face Mitch who was already sitting on the bed.

"What's wrong Scotty?"
"It's all I can think about lately, the baby. My baby."
"Okay so talk to me."
"I think I might want to try and find them. I just want to make sure they're okay. That they have a good life."
"We can talk to someone about it."
"We?"
"Well... I mean if you want me there that is. I just meant that I'm not going to let you go through this alone."
"Even after I lied to you."
"Technically you didn't lie, you just omitted. And yea, I'm a little mad and hurt that you didn't tell me because I thought we told each other everything. But I get why you didn't so I'm going to get over it. And it doesn't mean I'm not going to stop supporting you. I told you, you're stuck with me. I'm not going anywhere."

Scott walked up to stand between the younger boys legs, bending down to kiss him passionately until he was forced on his back with Scott hovering above him. After several heated minutes, Scott pulled back.

"God, I love you. And I do not know what I did to deserve you but I'm so thankful you're mine."
"Love you too. Now get off of me before we break a house rule about sex while your parents are downstairs." Scott chuckled but climbed off his boyfriend before flopping onto the bed and opening his arms for Mitch to situate himself in. "So how are you going to do this? Who are you going to talk to first?"
"I thought maybe Dan but I'm just not that close to him. Or maybe Sara Beth. But I don't know. I feel like she might freak."
"What about Rashad?"
"Huh?"
Mitch leaned up on his elbow to look at Scott. "I mean you're pretty close with him right? All that time you were in juvie and he watched out for you. He might have access to files or know someone who does."
"You might be right. And I am really close to him. He like the closest thing to a father I've had in awhile."
"Just talk to him and if he can't help you at least he can help point you in the right direction."
"He and Am went to the movies but I'll text him and ask him to come up when they get home. But for now come and cuddle with me."
"It would be my pleasure." Mitch giggled.

The pair snuggled and watched movies until they fell asleep. Rashad found them when he came up stairs; Mitch draped across Scott chest, the blanket covering their lower halves. He smiled at the pair, almost dreading to wake them up. However, he knew if Scott had asked to speak with him it must be important. He sat down on Scott's side of the bed, gently shaking the boy's shoulder. The blonde blinked up owlishly.

"Hey," the older man whispered, "you needed to talk to me?"
"Yea, hold on. Let me get up." Scott gently untangled himself from Mitch, leaving his pillow for the young boy to cuddle against. Then he followed Rashad out into the hallway, each taking a seat on the stairs.
"So Scott, what did you need. You're not one to ask for something."
"Umm, well you're like the closest thing I have to a dad right now other than Kyle. But you've been there the past few months when he couldn't and I just need someone to talk to."
Rashad placed his arm around the boy pulling him into his side, hugging him. "Thank you. That means a lot to me Scott. And you know you can talk to me about anything."
Scott leaned against the older man. Letting most of his weight rest against the broad shoulder. He get comfortable and safe there. Like Rashad would protect him. He took a steadying breath before he whispered, "I want to find my kid."
