Love lots -AV

It was minutes after Summer made her appearance in the lobby that Jeremy was lead out, He had on his tux pants again, his white dress shirt hung off his shoulders. He looked rumpled and worn out. His mother immediately ran up and hugged him tightly. He didn't hug back, he just stood in her arms until she pulled away. Sara Beth waited until they had had their moment before walking up and speaking.

"Jeremy is good to go. No charges were filed. Nothing will be on his record. He can go home and put this whole ordeal behind him."
"Where's Scott?" The brunette was still concerned about his best friend.
Summer walked up behind her girlfriend, placing an arm around the woman's waist and sighing. "He's going back to Dallas. It's just for the time being. We're all working on getting something figured out."
"But he didn't even do anything. He tried everything to make sure that he was home on time last night. The only reason he even went was for Kit, me, and Mitch. He had not reason but to make us happy. I was actually drunk and yet I'm out and he's going back to juvie. How is that fair?"
"Jeremy, you got drunk at prom. Kids do it all the time, I'm not saying it's right but it happens. At least you didn't go out and drive drunk. You made a mistake. And I'm sure your parents are going to punish you for them. And hopefully this shocks you into never drinking again, at least until your 21." Jeremy nodded and she continued, "as for Scott, it's not fair. He's been working so hard, even before his release to get his life back on track. But we're not going to let him get sent to prison." Another nod and sniffle as Jer tried to hold back his tears. "He's going to be okay. For now though you need to worry about you, go home and get some rest, okay? Depending on what happens, and if your parents allow it, maybe you can ride up to Dallas with us one day next week?" Summer looked to Mrs. Lewis who nodded and smiled, her husband stepping up to put an arm around her.
"Thank you both for helping our son out of this whole mess," the man said.
Sara Beth smiled, taking her girlfriend's hand, "it's not a problem. I know I don't know him as well as Su does but Scott talks about him a lot and from what I hear he's a good kid."
"He is. Scott is too. He's always been there for our son when he could. I'm just thankful he finally found foster parents who care like you all do." Mrs. Lewis responded.
"We love him and we'll take care of him. Now go ahead and get Jeremy home. He looks like he didn't sleep at all last night." A sheepish smile from the boy confirmed Summer's suspicions and the three Lewis's left quickly.

As soon as he was home Jeremy put his phone on the charger, planning to text his girlfriend as soon as it booted up. His mother and father has already dealt out his punishments, extra chores for two months and grounded for a month. It would be after graduation before he got to spend any time with anyone. He let Kirstie know as soon as he could. She was of course upset which prompted him to beg for her to be allowed over to the house. His parents declined saying they would reevaluate the suggestion next week. Jeremy couldn't wait that long. Monday was a school holiday which meant neither him nor Kirst would be busy. His parents, however, would both be at work until at least 5. That gave the couple plenty of time to make up what would be lost during his restriction.

Scott sitting in the same small cell when Rashad came to the door. The man had a gruff look on his face and Scott could tell, he wasn't Amber's boyfriend as this moment, he was the warden.

"Resident, up, turn around, hands on the wall, legs spread."

Scott did as he was told and he soon heard the cell door opening and footsteps coming up behind him. The warden patted him down thoroughly before attaching a waist chain and shackles then cuffing his hands to either side of his body. The man turned him roughly so they were face to face. Scott dared to look up into his eyes, but there he saw that Rashad hated this almost as much as he did. It was a split second before the stern, commanding voice was back and the man was pulling out of the cell back the arm, leading him to the front desk. Papers were signed, Scott remained quiet, looking down at the floor, trying not to focus on anything in particular for fear of it becoming overwhelming and him having a breakdown.

The blonde boy was surprised to see that he wasn't being loaded up in the back of a prison transport van or a cop car. No, instead he was being lead to Rashad's red Range Rover. He side eyed the man who minutely shook his head, indicating he wouldn't say anything about it, at least not yet. Scott was helped into the back seat and buckled in before the warden made his way to the driver's seat and begin to pull onto the highway.

"I could get in so much trouble for this Scott. Just know I'm literally risking my career on you right now."
"You shouldn't be. Why am I not in a cop car? Can I ask?"
"Because you don't deserve any of what's happening to you and technically I can transport you however I see fit. It's everything else that's I could get in some deep shit for."

That's when Scott realized they were pulling into an unfamiliar driveway and into an open garage. The door promptly closed as they entered. Scott looked at Rashad trying to figure out just what was going on. The older man got out of the car, unbuckling Scott before helping the boy out of the car. He quickly undid the restraints, leaving Scott confused yet again.

"Just go with for now. Do not breathe a word of this to anyone. It'd be my job and Derek's."
"Where are we though? Why am I here?"
"You're here because I brought you here. Because you deserve this. We have to be in Dallas by 6. That gives you an hour here then the forty five minute drive up."
"But... what?"

Scott heard the door to the house open and Derek stepped down, smiling at the boy.

"Sorry about everything Scott. Not answering the phone when you called, all of that."
"It's okay. I understand."
"I hope this little surprise makes up for it a bit though."

The man sidestepped allowing the small brunette to be seen.

"Scotty!"
"Mitchy? But... how?" He looked around at the adults that now included all his guardians, they just smiled as Mitch jumped into his arms.
