Gift

The funeral finally ended after some long-winded procedures. Yoongi and I walked by the side of Leader Kim as we exited the funeral hall. People moved out of the way for the big-bellied man. I noticed that some gave Yoongi and I second looks, and Mr Ga was one of those people.

Walking past the staring Mr Ga, Leader Kim said to us, "The meeting took place two days ago." He was referring to the alliance meeting between FIRE and Seoulsangdeok.

"Were we right?" Yoongi asked.

Leader Kim smiled. "You were. Men from Oh Changwoo tried to sabotage that meeting. I already set up a trap for them so I easily took them all down. Oh Eunjung, the information you provided me was indeed accurate."

"I'm happy to help," I replied, though feeling a bad inside about my father's men.

"Why don't you two come for dinner someday?" Leader Kim asked.

I was caught off guard by that question. Yoongi and I looked at each other and he answered for me instead, "We would love to."

Leader Kim stopped in front of his car. "Good." He then shook both mine and Yoongi's hand before getting in his car.

I turned around, only to see Mr Ga still watching apprehensively. I looked at Yoongi and he gave me a nod. I guess it was time to start doing my part. I started approaching the right-hand man.

"Mr Ga," I said. "I'm sorry for your loss of a comrade."

He shook his head. "It's alright... I never cared much about Mr Min anyway."

"That's...good. I hope you won't lose a person you care about then."

"I hope not too." He glanced at Yoongi a distance away from us. "His son, he seems quite able."

"He is," I said. "Even I was surprised by how good he is at gaining other's trust when I first met him."

"Is that so? ...What about you, On Eunjung? How did the daughter of one of our biggest enemy end up on our side?"

"Because of Yoongi," I replied honestly.

He chuckled, "I see he really is good at getting people on his side. Anyway, my car is waiting."

I nodded farewell. "I hope to talk to you again one day."

He nodded and walked away. Just as I was about to go back to Yoongi I noticed someone staring at me. It was that son of the left-hand man, Han Yugyeom.

I caught his gaze and offered him a smile. He returned it onto to be hurried away by his father.

Yoongi said as I got into his car with him, "I see you are not only charming one man today, but two."

"Don't worry," I said, strapping myself in, "the only man that has even remotely charmed me so far is you."

"Good. Otherwise, I might have to kill whoever the other person is," he said with a laugh.

"Please don't."

I got changed into school uniform and went back to BAC in time for the last lesson. Of course, I was bombarded by questions from everyone about where I went, where was Yoongi, and whether I was really his girlfriend.

"To his father's funeral," I told Sulgi when he asked me that first question. Yoongi said it was fine for me to tell if others asked. "He invited me."

"So you two are officially in a relationship?" She asked knowing that we were.

"Yes, he is my boyfriend," I said without embarrassment.

Sulgi squealed as if her OTP just got together. "Yes! I've been rooting for you two for so long! I knew you would end up together."

"Why?"

"I just don't know how you didn't see how perfect of a match you two are," Sulgi said. "Oh wait...since  you are going out with Yoongi, does that mean you're not the Ice Queen anymore? You're... just Queen now."

"Is that good or bad?" I asked.

She laughed, "Good of course!"

During our conversation I noticed people staring at me and whispering. I knew exactly what they were talking about. Just as we left the school building, Doyoung came to us.

"Eunjung," he said, "Is Yoongi alright?"

I nodded. "Yes, he just needs some time to recover from his father's death."

His brows furrowed. "His father's death? What... What happened?"

"I don't know," I lied.

He frowned. "Alright, I just hope Yoongi is fine."

"Oh," I suddenly remembered, "do you want to come to my 18th party?" I already invited Sulgi, Jiwoo, and the rest of the girls. I was still deciding which boys to invite. Doyoung was a nice person, so he was coming. But the model guy was obviously not invited.

"Yea, sure," he replied with a smile.

A while after dinner Father returned home from work. He and Mother called me down to the living room to talk. Oh god, was I caught hanging with Yoongi or something?

"Eunjung," Mother began, "you are almost 18. And we want to give you a present for your birthday."

"What type of present?" I asked, my eyes scanning the surrounding to maybe see where they put it.

"We think you are mature enough now," Father said. "So, after discussion, we decided to get you a house."

My mouth dropped opened. "Really? Where?"

"It's just a while away from here, and it's a lot smaller, but we believe it will be good for you to get some experience living alone when you're 18. We'll give you a maid and a chauffeur, but that's all."

"A-Actually that sounds good," I replied with a surprised laugh.

Mum smiled. "It's good you like it. We thought you might want to stay here because you'll miss the servants doing things for you."

"No, Mother I think it would be good for me to try to live alone too."
