Divulgence

After that Lee Miha girl interrupted our meeting in the park and dragged Jimin away, Yoongi decided to tell me his plans another time. It was the day after and I was going to eat out with my friends after school.

"So where should we go?" Sulgi said to the group as we walked across the court.

"Have you heard of the park near by?" I asked them.

"The one those people from Busan High School hang out in?" Jiwoo said. I nodded. She continued, "Yes, why?"

"Yea why would you ever go there?" Sulgi added. "My parents said it's dangerous there because people in a lower class go there."

"No, I was just asking. I don't want to go there," I said.

"Queen!"

I sighed hearing that sharp voice. Not again. My friends and I turned around to the face of Min Yoongi. He was on his own as he approached our group of girls. Sulgi's eyes were widened and she could not take her gaze off him.

"Eunjung," Yoongi began, "Come with me."

"No, I have plans with my friends," I replied.

"No, we don't," Jiwoo quickly said with a cheeky smile on her face.

"Great," Yoongi smirked, "Come on Queen, let's go."

Jiwoo gave me a discreet shove towards Yoongi. I sighed again and decided to go with him. I waved my friends goodbye and they gave me winks as I left with Yoongi.

"Where are we going this time?" I asked.

"To get dinner."

"I thought we were going to see Jungkook and Jimin."

"No, they have something on today. We are just going to eat by ourselves."

Of course, I had once again been tricked into going with him. I followed him a few streets down to the centre of the city, where all the big shopping malls and restaurants were. He led us to a famous Michelin three stars restaurant that recently opened up.

"I haven't even been to eat here yet," I commented as we walked through the door. Normally whenever a good restaurant opened up my parents would be the first to taste it, and they bring me along most of the time.

"This is the first time I'm eating with you, so of course I have to make it nice."

When he gave his name to a staff she immediately allowed us in and led us to a table.

"You reserved it?" I asked. "How did you know that I would come with you?"

"I knew you would," Yoongi replied while pulling out the chair for me. He then went to sit at his side.

"Why? Don't say the cliche 'whatever I want, I get'," I said.

"I do though," Yoongi leaned back into his chair and said. "I want control of FIRE, and that I will get."

"Why do you want to be the head of an underworld gang so much?" I questioned. "My father says they are all just uneducated thugs that have nothing better to do with their lives than ruining the order of society."

"You know nothing about gangs, do you?"

I scoffed, "I'm pretty sure I know more than you. I have been helping my father in his work fighting those gangs since I was fifteen."

"Sure." He looked behind me and nodded at someone. A waiter soon came and started taking our orders. I randomly picked something on the menu and he ordered something with lobster in.

"So," Yoongi said after the waiter collected our menus and left, "since you hear so much about those gangs, aren't you curious about what it is like to be in one?"

"No," I shook my head, "from what I've seen it's all just crimes, killings, and betrayals."

"If it's only that no one will willingly join a gang. There is pride, glory, and loyalty too."

I huffed, "Pride and loyalty? My father told me they were all forced into it either because they need money or by their 'friends'."

"That's not true, I willingly joined it, " he chuckled then muttered the last bit, "not that I would've had a choice anyway."

"And why would you do that? You have everything you need."

"I told you - because I want power."

We were interrupted by waiters bringing us our dishes. I picked up my knife and forks and started eating while thinking about what he said. Power? Indeed, being the leaders or even just top dogs of a large gang would gain you immense power in not just the underworld, but also the surface world.

"Don't you want power?" Yoongi suddenly asked.

"I do," I replied honestly, "But I am confident in myself that I can obtain it in other ways, without breaking the law."

He laughed. "You can never obtain true power without breaking the law."

"Whatever you say." I couldn't be bothered to argue with him so I just shrugged.

We changed the topic of conversation away from the underworld to more mundane things like school, friends, and what we like doing in our free time. This time Yoongi didn't say killing, he said that he liked cars and would like to start a collection when he was older.

We left the restaurant after finishing our meal and he offered to walk me home, to which I accepted. To my surprise, our conversation flowed smoothly and we actually got along rather well when I was willing to give it a try.

"So this is the Oh estate?" He muttered as we approached my home. I nodded. The guard opened the gate when he saw me.

"Goodbye," I said.

"No, I'll walk you to your door."

"...Alright." I had no idea why he wanted to do that but I saw no harm to it because my parents were never against me hanging around boys.

I took out my keys and was about to unlock the door when it opened. My father was standing on the other side.

"Father," I said, "I'm home. And this is Min Yoongi, the person I'm doing a group project with."

My father, who had slicked-back black hair and a permanent crease between his brows, offered Yoongi a hand, "I am Eunjung's father."

"Nice to meet you," Yoongi shook his hand firmly without averting his gaze. I was impressed. My father was a scary man with a hard gaze. Most people look away when he was staring at them like this, but not Yoongi.

"Come on in, Eunjung," Father said while standing aside to let me in.

"Goodbye, Yoongi."

"Goodbye. I will see you tomorrow." Yoongi said and turned to walk to the exit.

What, when did we say we were going to meet tomorrow? It would be Saturday tomorrow so no school. I never said I would hang out with him.

"Eunjung," Father said after closing the door behind him, "do not see that boy ever again."

That took me completely by surprise. Father had seen me with boys before but he was never like this.

"Why?" I questioned.

"He is not the right sort of person to hang out with."

"Why? What's wrong with him? He is a nice person."

"Eunjung!" Father suddenly shouted. I froze out of shock. He has never shouted at me like that. He continued in a normal voice, "Just don't. Be friends with anyone else in your school but him."

"Darling, what's wrong?" My mother asked coming down the stairs at the back of the living room.

"Min Yoongi was here just now," Father answered.

I noticed Mother's eyes widening just slightly. She looked at me and said, "Eunjung, don't be friends with him."

"Why?"

Father sighed, "We will tell you when you are older."

"Why can't you tell me now?" I said with my voice slightly raised. "I am almost 18! And you can't just tell me to stop seeing my friends forever and not tell me the reason."

Mother said harshly, "As long as you are under our roof you are our child! And I forbid you from seeing Min Yoongi!"

I knew I couldn't argue anymore. I huffed and ran upstairs to my room. I slumped onto my bed in annoyance. Why were my parents acting like this?

Wait a minute... I should think about this logically. The one thing my father despised the most was the underworld, and he convinced my mother too. They had only just met Yoongi, so it couldn't have been his mannerism that irked them. There was only one thing. Then I came to the realisation.

Was Yoongi actually in FIRE?
