"Tell me why we are sneaking in again?" JR asked not understanding Hayley. They had spent the whole night together but now she wanted to sneak around?

"Because... Because we have to. This is between the two of us" Hayley told him unbuckling her seat belt.

"I still don't understand why I have to go in through the back door. That is more suspicious"

"Then I'll use the back. You go in through the front if you want to"

"JR stop complaining and leave before someone sees you. Come on" Hayley pushed him but he didn't budge.

"Hayley I'm not leaving. We're adults here. We can do whatever we want"

"If you walk in that door with me you're never touching me again."

"You can't be serious" he tried to touch her but she slapped his hands away.

"Do I look like I'm joking James?" Hayley put on her serious face hoping it would work.

"Is two hours enough? Maybe three?" he had come too far to let something as stupid as that get in his way. If she wasn't ready for people to know about them then so be it. Even if he didn't like being her secret.

"Come back in time for dinner. I'll have special dessert waiting for you"

"Okay. Can I get one last kiss? You can't send me out there in this big bad world empty-handed handed" JR pleaded and took her face in his arms and without waiting for a reply he kissed her. It was a simple kiss that left Hayley on unsteady legs. "Just one more," he said when he saw the look in her eyes.

"You have to go now before someone sees you," she told him covering his mouth with her hand to stop him from kissing her again. He kissed her palm then got back in his car and drove off.

"Are you sneaking in?" Jim cornered Hayley immediately as she walked in. Startled she gasped leaning against the door.

"Jeez, you scared me." Jim noticed she didn't answer his question and she was too jumpy. Hayley was sarcastic and most of the time he was sure she wanted to strangle him but he'd never seen her jumpy.

"Where is JR?"

"How should I know? He's your son. Not mine. Speaking of children I'm going to check on mine and see if she's okay." she tried walking past him but he stepped in front of her, blocking her way.

"I thought I saw his car outside. Are you sure you don't know where he is?"

"Jim I don't keep tabs on JR. Besides I just got in so how should I know where he is?" Hayley congratulated her sharp mind for deciding to put her dress back on. Jim would have definitely noticed JR's clothes. Then the joke would have been on her.

Oh, she was definitely acting weird, and sooner or later he would get to the bottom of it. "Okay. If you say so. Alexis is still with her tutor if you want to change first"

Hayley closed her bedroom door and leaning into it fished her phone out of her purse then called JR. "He's on to us. I am telling you he knows"

"Who's on to you? And who are you talking to?"

"Why are you acting like that?" Alexis asked

"You scared me. Jeez can't someone walk in a room without being cornered?" she said with her hand on her heart. Alexis picked up the phone and placed it on her ear.

"Hello"

"Give me back my phone you nosy brat" Hayley snapped into action trying to snatch the phone back but Alexis was quick to move away.

"Helloo anyone there? Speak. I can hear you breathing"

"Alexandra Rose Barrett give me back my phone right this second before I get mad." she couldn't catch a break. First Jim and now Alexis.

"That is so scary Mom. Who were talking to anyway? I can hear them breathing but they won't say anything." she yelled the last part into the phone.

"Alexis am not joking" Hayley stomped her foot like a teenager. If JR spoke one word she would skin him alive.

"Here" Alexis finally handed the phone back to her mother. Hayley snatched it from her making her narrow her eyes.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I don't know. Something's different about you. You look...... I don't know. You just look different. Maybe you should start going out more. It suits you" Alexis told her sounding like an adult.

"Different how? Alexis, where are you going? Come back here and tell me what you mean" but she was out the door before Hayley finished her sentence. "JR?"

"I agree with her. You should definitely go out more. Or maybe you should let me go in more. You get me?"

"You're disgusting. I'm hanging up"

"Wait...." Hayley cut him off flopping down on the bed. She felt like a teenager who just got her first boyfriend. JR was right about them not needing to sneak around but she just wanted more time with him before coming out to everyone. She was sure Shree and Jasmine would bug her about dirty details while Jim would walk around feeling like the king of matchmaking. She would never hear the end of it. And then there was Alexis. "What's that smile for?" Nick asked his friend. Ever since JR had arrived at his apartment he was acting weird.

"Why are you getting so defensive about your whereabouts? You could have said you were with Nick or at work or even out. It was just a simple question JR" Jim said gloating on the inside because he had just cornered him.

"You're being weird. Please let's just eat" JR brushed him off.

Hayley sank lower in her chair and pretended to be busy eating. She couldn't start a conversation with JR because it would be too awkward and Alexis had ran off to sit next to Jim. Traitor. She chewed her food slowly and replayed last night's events through her mind. She hadn't planned it but she also didn't regret anything. JR was handsome and also great in bed.
