Kabanata 22

True to his words, he came back with Dra, Luna for my check-ups. Naging masusi ang physical check up ko ngayon kumpara sa mga nakaraang pag examine sa akin.

"Although, I physically examined you now, I'll still have to run a full physical exam for you. including pelvic and breast exams, as well as some routine blood and urine tests. You will spend time talking to us about what to expect during your your first trimester and the rest of your pregnancy. You'll learn about the types of prenatal visits and tests you'll have until your baby is born." Pagpapaliwanag ni Doc sa amin.

Tiningnan ko saglit si Pierre at tila tutok na tutok ito sa sinasabi ni Dra.

"So that means we have to go to your clinic, Dra?" I asked.

"Well, yes you have to, to monitor your health and for the baby as well."

Mabilis ko muling nilingon si Pierre pero parang hindi ito nagulat o walang reaksyon sa sinabing iyon ni Dra, dahilan naman iyon para makabalik ako ulit sa Manila para sa prenatal visits ko.

Natapos na ang ilang katanungan at nagpaalam na kami kay Dra Luna na babalik na ulit sa City, kasama ang kanyang assistant. May mga vitamins namang iniwan si Dra para sa aking pagbubuntis.

Naiwan kaming dalawa ni Pierre ka'ya minabuti ko na lamang na kausapin s'ya.

"Ano ang plano mo? We have to follow the professionals." I smiled.

"Sa susunod na buwan, we'll visit her clinic." Muli akong napangiti dahil ang pagkasabik ko sa Manila ay matutupad pero next month pa.

Hindi ko alam kung dahil ba sa pregnancy ko ay kaya ganito ang nararamdaman ko o talagang ayaw ko na magtagal sa lugar na ito kahit wala namang gaanong problema sa akin ang manatili dito. 

''I'll be leaving later, baby mama. Do you crave  foods? I'll buy you some.'' 

''Mangoes will do, any kind, hmmm... unripe, mid ripe and ripe.'' I smiled, he kissed me on my forehead. 'I will just to see you smile like that.'' 

Maybe as of now the cravings washed the hatred away, at paniguradong galit nanaman ako sa kanya kinabukasan. Mukhang s'ya ang magiging kamukha ng magiging anak ko dahil tila s'ya lang ang pinaglilihian ko, everything about him.

''How's the check-up?'' Natitinigan ko ang saya sa boses ni Sandy. It's been a while since we talked with each other, naging busy masyado sa schedule ng trabaho marahil. 

''Doing fine, next month pupunta kami sa City para sa monthly check-ups.'' I said while caressing my baby bump.

''Anyways, you have to take care of yourself as well for the baby,'' 

''Oo naman, why wouldn't I. No matter circumstances, even though my baby came from Pierre.'' 

The thought of Pierre being the father of my child gives me chilling feeling, at the same time I am happy. 

''Well, last week Jessy's been asking me where were you, she's getting creepier each day, hindi s'ya tumitigil sa pagtatanong, pero this week ay napansin kong hindi na s'ya nagpapakita.''

Bigla akong napaisip sa sinabing iyon ni Sandy. ''She seems obsessed with Pierre reason why I am asking you to be careful,'' seryosong aniya ka'ya nawala ang masayang ngiti  ko habang hinihimas ang t'yan ko.

Before I could speak biglang nag notify sa aking cellphone ang incoming calls from my mother.

''Dy, I have to answer my mother's call, I'll call you again.'' We bid our goodbyes.

''Mom,''

''How's your check-up? is the baby fine?'' I smiled, I missed my mom.

''Yes, mom.'' Kinuwento ko ang kaganapan kanina kasama si Dra, dahil sa aking check-up. Mom's happy hearing the news.

The thought of coming back to manila keeping me in a good mood, pero sumisingit ang binalita sa akin ni Sandy patungkol sa ginagawang paghahanap sa akin ni Jessy, akala ko mapuputol na ang connections ko sa kanya pero mukhang hindi pa pala. 

Natapos ang kalahating oras ng pakikipag-usap ko kay Mom, ka'ya naman ay minabuti ko na lamang muna ang magpahinga.

Kanina pa nakaalis si Pierre, limang oras na ang nakalilipas, ngunit hindi pa rin s'ya nakakauwi.

Minabuti ko na lamang ang bumaba upang magtungo sa kusina para kumuha ng tubig, medyo mahaba ang naging tulog ko ka'ya naman ay nauhaw ako, suddenly random thoughts runs into my head, like having hectic schedules from work, surely I have miss the feeling of working, namimiss ko na rin ang cubicle ko sa trabaho for almost three years.

Hindi pa ako nakabababa sa staircase ay napansin ko ang dalawang lalaking nakaupo sa sofa sa sala, other two came inside the house and to my surpise! the whole family of Pierre is in here. Akala ko trabaho lamang ang pinuntahan n'ya sa syudad, hindi ako naging handa sa pagdating ng mga Jimenez dito.

Mabilis nagtungo si Pierre sa akin upang alalayan ako pababa.

I greeted them all and have a beso. ''Tita Cynthia, Tito Pietro,'' 

''Luigi, Giovanni.'' I greeted Pierre's two younger brothers, they both gave me a smile. Hindi nalalayo ang extremely good physical and facial features ng tatlong magkakapatid, but unlike Pierre and Giovanni who has a intimidating looks Luigi has the softest among them all including their father.

''We're sorry Vien, we only get to visit you only today.'' Ani Luigi, nabalitaan kong lumipad kaagad sila sa Itay matapos ang libing ng anak ni Jessy at Pierre.

As usual Tito Pietro just gave me his neutral looks, while Tita Cynthia were over the moon when she approached and gave me a hug.

''You really are with a child, hija. I'm more than extremely pleased and happy having my first apo!'' I smiled, the house were filled with her giggles due to happiness. Hindi ito nagbago sa pakikitungo sa akin despite the issues of our families back then. 

Matapos akong yakapin ni Tita Cynthia ay mas lumapit sa akin si Pierre at ipinatong ang kamay sa bewang ko. Never in my wildest dream i'll be able to be near like this with them again after the past conflicts of our families, but here I am adding another Jimenez in their family. Akala ko matagal tagal pa na aaminin namin sa kanya kanya naming pamilya ang tungkol sa relasyon.
