Forty
V entered the quiet apartment, kicking his shoes off and making his way into the kitchen to get some water. He couldn't even take two steps before he was tackled to the ground by a distressed ravenette, small yet strong arms trapping him under them.
"Damn sugar, I missed you too." He chuckled and wrapped one arm around Jungkook's waist as the other went to the back of his head, gently massaging his scalp to calm him down. Jungkook was shaking again, so unbelievably happy to finally be back in V's loving embrace.
"Don't ever fucking leave us again, you asshole!" The ravenette yelled out, pushing his face into V's tatted neck while trying not to cry.
The tatted male pulled Jungkook's chin up, looking at his lover with a reassuring smile on his face. "You don't have to worry about that anymore baby, I'll never have to leave you both ever again."
"Do you really mean that?"
Another voice sounded. Taehyung was watching them as he leaned against the arm of the couch, arms crossed and face looking conflicted. V felt his heart hurt as he looked at his twin. He didn't fully realize how hard it would be for Taehyung to accept that there's no longer a threat to their safety. That V doesn't have to kill anymore, after he's been blaming himself for years at what happened to them.
V carefully stood, standing Jungkook up with him. He gave the younger a small smile before letting go, speeding to his brother. The closer he got, the more tears he could see gathering in Taehyung's eyes before he finally reached him, wrapping him up in his hold. It was in that moment that Taehyung finally let the dam break, letting all his emotions out in his brother's hold. He clawed onto V's back from holding him so tightly, stuffing his face in his chest as he cried and cried.
"I love you, TaeTae. We're finally free. We never have to worry about that bastard again. We got justice for mom and dad and we're both okay. We fucking did it."
Taehyung only nodded his head, trying to get himself together to stop crying but it was so hard. He'd spent the last 25 years of his life in fear and guilt for himself and his brother. It was hard to believe that they'd finally been granted peace, the universe had finally taken pity on them.
Though his cries had finally stopped, he refused to let go of his twin. He just needed him close so he could feel grounded. V simply smiled, pulling back a little to boop Taehyung's nose. The older twin was feeling much too emotional to care and only buried his head deeper in his chest.
The tatted male lifted his head to find their lover looking at them with a small smile. To this day, he could never get over how Jungkook always gave them their space, looking at them from afar with so much love. They really got so incredibly lucky.
"How about we all go take a shower?"
✖️✖️✖️
The steam from the shower enveloped them as the water from the rain shower head cascaded down their bodies. V and Jungkook were both doting on a still silent Taehyung, the silver haired male just letting them do whatever they want. V was conditioning his hair, gently running his tatted fingers through his now clean scalp and Jungkook was thoroughly washing Taehyung's body because he was a bit shorter than them. The amount of love and attention that were showing him almost made him want to start crying again.
V was leaving little kisses on Taehyung's neck, slowly massaging his shoulders as he felt Taehyung relaxing back into him. All he wanted to do was comfort his twin and smoothly bring him into this new phase of their lives together.
Jungkook wrapped his arms around Taehyung's waist, feeling the elder shiver in his embrace. He loved when Taehyung took care of him but taking care of Taehyung made him feel so good. He smiled softly when he felt Taehyung lean forward, wrapping his arms around his shoulders and completely smothering him. The ravenette immediately held him stronger, pecking his cheek before tucking his head back in his chest. They've been like this since everything happened, saying few words yet barely letting go of each other.
The tatted male looked at them, the sight pulling at his heart strings. They haven't been able to be like this in so long and it felt so good to come back home to this. Because his heart doesn't lie in this apartment, it lies within these two beautiful people. "I genuinely love you both, so fucking much."
The two quickly looked up, breaking their embrace before giving him two beautiful reactions. Taehyung gave a beautiful shy smile, rolling his eyes just a bit. Jungkook smiled widely, shaking his head before playfully punching V in the shoulder. "We love you too, asshole."
"You called me that a little too much tonight, sugar." V held a hand over his naked shoulder, faking like he was in so much pain.
"And? I stand by what I said."
Taehyung sighed, turning the shower off and pushing them both to the side to step out. "You both are too much for me right now."
"Taehyungie wait! Let me dry you off!" Jungkook yelled, carefully rushing out the shower to wrap Taehyung in a fluffy purple towel.
"You still have to dry yourself off, dummy." V facepalmed, stepping out the shower and placing a towel on his waist before moving behind Jungkook who was fussing over Taehyung. The whole situation was pretty funny actually. Jungkook was drying Taehyung, while V was drying Jungkook, while the air was getting some action and drying V. It was funny but they wouldn't have it any other way.
After they finished drying each other off and doing their nighttime routines, they all laid in bed together with Taehyung in the middle. Some trashy reality tv show was playing on low volume but none of them were really watching it. V had his arm around both of them while Jungkook had his leg throw over both his lovers. Taehyung was holding both of their hands, occasionally running his thumbs over the back of their hands.
"It feels so good to just be in the moment together like this." Jungkook admitted softly, heart feeling so full. Taehyung nodded in agreement, freshly dried silver hair bouncing with him.
"And from now on it'll always be like this. I mean that from the bottom of my heart." V assured them one last time. There was no reason for them to be scared anymore, they only had happiness and peace in their future.
"I... I fucking love you both so much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you both." Taehyung choked out, fighting his emotions so he didn't start crying all over again. He was feeling so sensitive right now.
Jungkook felt his eyes sting but held it in. They shouldn't be crying right now, they should be so fucking happy. He chose to jump on Taehyung instead, strongly wrapping his legs around his waist as his arms pulled V into the hug from the side. "I wouldn't have it any other way than spending the rest of my life with both of you." V had a big ass grin on his face, shaking his head at his goofy loves.
This was their lives now and nothing could stop them from going down this place of happiness for the rest of their lives. No it wouldn't be perfect because perfect doesn't fucking exist, but it would be perfectly imperfect for them.
They were all still traumatized by what happened and there was still a lot they needed to discuss. The twins had a lot of rediscovering to do, they've only known one lifestyle so far and that was purely survival. One day, Taehyung will learn how to not crucify himself with guilt and one day, V will stop having episodes due to his trauma.
It will take time but they'll surely find their own perfect version of happiness and whatever steps it takes along the way, they'll embrace together.
Because this was their story... and they will continue to live it unapologetic.
I'll save all my parting words for the epilogue but guys this is it!
