It's not a completed book unless it has an author's note. 

So, this has been going on for sooooo long and I'm so glad that I was able to finish it. 

So the idea I had for this story started long ago in about 2021. I wasn't going to write it on Wattpad at first, and just keep it to myself, but what was the fun in that? I wanted to see if people would like my story.

I was new to Wattpad and read a ton of mafia fanfictions and I was totally into them except for the fact that all the main characters (Y/N) were so innocent and naïve. 

And sure, there's nothing wrong with being innocent and naïve, but being the fact that it wasn't relatable to me, I decided to go out and make my own version. I wanted to make a protagonist that was like me. 

As I said before, I began the story plot out with Briar becoming Y/N and doing all the Y/N stuff and eventually falling in love with Taehyung and deciding that she was going to leave her real life to stay with him. 

As the story progressed, I just couldn't see it happening. Briar was far too annoyed with Taehyung and into Yoongi to end up falling for Taehyung. This is where I ended up at a massive writing block because I was like 'well, how's the story going to end now?" 

I tried to forget about the story and focus on something else but really, deep down I wanted to complete the book because this is my second eldest book and it was and is still the most popular on my account.

Eventually I got a message from Wattpad telling me that I hadn't updated one of my books in a while and I was thinking 'Yeah that's probably I ruined a mafia fanfiction' and despite the fact that I hated the book I decided that I wasn't going to be the author that leaves my readers hanging. 

I got to work at my grandma's place, thinking of how the story would go and wrote it all in a notebook as it came to me. 

This time, Yoongi was not the second male lead, but the male lead. Yes, I know there wasn't much romance between the two of them but I'm not that great at writing it. 

Either way, I like how it turned out especially since there was a few plot holes in the original story and it was just weird that Briar didn't return to her own world (not that it was any better than the mafia one but yeah) and idk falling in love with someone who kidnapped you and made you work for him didn't sit right with me or Briar, apparently. 

Also, if you're wondering why Briar's name is 'Carmen Briar' and not 'Briar Carmen' this is actually a reference to my aunty (not the one who raised me) who's name is 'Maria Carmen' but she calls herself Carmen. 

Briar's name originally came from another book that I wrote that never made it to Wattpad where she was friends in school with a guy named Joon (*cough* Namjoon *cough*) I originally wasn't that into the name, it's an odd name for a character that is Hispanic and that's in a comedy book, but I kept it anyway.

Anyway, here's an excerpt from the original layout for the story (yes its bad but it was written in a rush loll)

Girl is in her room reading a fanfic, she falls asleep.

Another girl is in her room, her name is Y/N. She claims she hates this life.

Girl wakes up as Y/N.

The game instructor, aka Yoons tells her what happened.

The game tells her that she recently broke up with her boyfriend, JW, and offers her a choice of normal Y/N clothes to go to the club to. Girl refuses clothes and chooses her own.

At the club you hear expensive girl by namjoon because that's just hilarious

A man walks up and asks her if he can buy her a drink, girl wants to decline but she has used all her free will points.

She says yes.

The drink is spiked.

Girl wakes up to find two guys in front of her arguing while she is tied to a chair.

One of the guys comments on how the other guy kidnapped the 'ugliest' girl. The other guy said this is the girl he wanted her to kidnap.

He points to her and says, "this isn't Y/N, her slim and petite figure with her h/c hair flying in the air and her beautiful e/c eyes shining like the sun," Girl murmers from the chair "damn that's oddly specific."

They turn to her and she has a choice to say 'pls don't kill me' or smth but shes allowed to choose her own so she goes, "This is a little over the top, isn't it? Like kidnapping me? Like couldn't we be like normal people? Hi my name is such and such can I have your number?"

The main guy, my boy TT, looks kinda confused and thinking meanwhile his other dude he was talking to my boy JJ goes 'damn shes got a point.'

Then girl is like 'yeah exactly, it doesn't make you very attractive to spike a girls drink and then take her against her will and tie her to a chair while you have a little girl talk or smth." JJ says "yeah touché tt why we even doing this?"

"and not even that," girl says, "you didn't even have the decency to kidnap me yourself." Jj looks at tt and goes "damn shame on you."

Tt looks frustrated and tells JJ to shut up and that he was busy with other things, and then turns to girl and says that he didn't want anyone else to have her.

"My soul left my body" girl thinks before answering seeing that she can either answer "I will be yours" but then she burts out laughing and then he starts feeling rejected so then he answers "youre not even what I wanted anyway either so you can just go home."

But on her way out, girl is stopped by tt who is like no, back it up we need you to stay here, since we have a strict no witness policy. When she says nah bruh I want to go home he says she can have all the food she wants.

He says that SS the hacker found out some information on her from her facebook bio and that she can shoot like a boss and conveniently has the ability to operate a helicopter. Girl goes 'wait I do?'

So she is added to the gang where JJ asks her why she is there and she tells him but its off screen and you don't hear the answer.

All you see next is those character profiles with like a pic and then it says: Name: RR

Age: 27

Abilities: Sniper

Motto: kiss my butt

And then hers is

Name: Girl

Age:22

Abilities:

Motto: I'm just here for the food

Yeah, so anyway, you can tell back then that it was in its very early ages of worldbuilding as I didn't even have a name for the protagonist. If you're wondering why Tae is called TT or Namjoon is called NJ or smth that is because I didn't want my aunt or cousins going through the computer and seeing that i had written a book where BTS were the protagonists because I would have been made fun of so bad💀💀💀

Anyway, it was pretty different. 

Another one I have before I even thought of writing the story on Wattpad that is:

I was very embarrassed about writing a BTS ff 💀💀 A mafia one at that 💀💀

So yeah, anyway, the moral of the book as I said is 'if you can't find it, write it' so take from that what you will and go out into the world and rewrite your own stories-
