And I oop...
Disclaimer: This is a work of FICTION. All characters in this story are FICTIONAL. Also NO PLAIGIRSING.
It was a normal day for me, 18-year-old Briar.
I was living in my mother's house, unemployed, 'wasted potential' as my family called me, slowly losing braincells to the reality-defying BTS fanfictions I read on a day to day basis.
And I was lovin' it.
Although the fanfiction I was reading at 12 am was most likely written by a pre-pubescent teen and in the most distorted version of the English language I had ever seen, I still enjoyed basking in the corny romance of the storyline because, well...I was desperate.
It's pretty evident that I didn't get a lot of men in my life.
The fanfiction I was reading was called 'Mafia', in which Y/N (i.e. Your name) has a boyfriend named Jackson Wang, who cheats on her. She goes to the club afterwards to wash away her sorrows and is randomly kidnapped by one of the members of the most nefarious mafia ever, BTS.
And yes, they're based off the band.
While being subjected to things that should only end in lawsuits, Y/N begins to fall for Taehyung, the leader of BTS. Taehyung, despite being a cold hearted killer, finds himself obsessing over the girl, and within an incredibly short amount of time, Y/N decides she's going to get married to the literal criminal.
I would complain, but, like, it's Kim Taehyung. Who can blame her? I mean, look at those people in the comments saying he could step on them and they'd thank him.
To be honest, I would too.
"You're mine Y/N. Do you understand? You belong to me, kitten." I cringed for the millionth time as I read the pet name, which appeared several times in the book. I could never understand the appeal of it. Baby girl, maybe. Babe, yes.
But kitten?
Just no.
"Looks like that is all I can handle for one day." I decided to myself as I slipped into the covers of my bed and turned my phone off, turning to stare up at the ceiling in the darkness.
The whole day was gone, but did I really care? It wasn't like reality was that exciting anyway. I preferred to read immature fanfictions to escape from the real world into a world of adventure, cringe, BTS, and overcooked romance.
And sometimes, no matter how cringe the idea was, I wished that the fanfictions were my reality.
And with that last thought, I drifted off into my dreams.
