Shocked
Baylor's POV
I gasped at me not having any Ums in my sentence but I didn't care because I came out of that shower with something else that decorated my skin and soul. Something new. Confidence.
And I was going to wear it damn proud.
I ran out of the room and gave Grams a quick kiss on the cheek and before she had time to react I was out the door and running down the street to the nearest mall. It was at least five blocks away bur it that wasn't that far considering that I had to walk practically everywhere. It took me about fifteen minutes before I stood outside the mall that loomed above me, it wasn't intimidating and it actually looked sort of welcoming. I walked into the doors of the main entrance and decided that having saved up 600 dollars I was going to pamper myself today, get a new wardrobe, new hair, new everything.
I first walked to the nail salon and looked over at the tiny Vietnamese woman who looked to be about thirty. She smiled at me kindly, which was something I was rarely used to. "What can I get you Deary?" She asked.
"I'd like to book a manicure, please," I patted myself mentally in the back for not saying Um.
I had been practicing the whole way there.
She nodded then turned to look at a book which held her schedule for today.
"I could squeeze you in for 7 O'clock, is that alright?" She asked with a small smile playing at the corners of her lips.
I nodded and thanked her before leaving. I had four hours before I had to get there. Walking around the Store I got to forever 21 and I cleared it out, same with Hot Topic and as well as Aeropostale and American Eagle. I then had at least ten bags full of clothes and 150 dollars left in my wallet. Walking into the nail salon I found the same woman I had talked to earlier and she rushed me to a chair then told me to pick out my colour I wanted.
"Midnight blue and a feature nail with diamonds on the tip," I said then pointed to the design.
The lady smiled and nodded then quickly went off to work on my nails.
*****
The guy spinner around my chair and I gasped at my hair, my once mousy brown was a black that somehow managed a tinge of red and a stick of dark brown-purplish. I loved it so much. Turning to face the hairdresser I hugged him the jumped up and down continuously. He smiled at me but then his phone rang so he had to go off. He left for a bit and I just admired my reflection and the glowing blue orbs that looked back at my whole feature.
My old clothes were mostly baggy and comfortable but not anymore, I had foundation and concealer which hid most of the bruises at the mall but at school I was not going to wear any of that anymore. I was finally going to show them what I am made of.
"Watch your back Fredric High, Baylor Greenberg is coming back and she's better then ever."
