Baylor's POV

It has been a week since me and Reid have been official. When we first came to school it was hard to get used to all the stares that were being thrown my way but eventually I got used to it. Reid wasn't with me lots because he had football practice. He was also being a bit of an asshole to me. Which was odd because it happened right after one football practice. I didn't understand it but I think it was just the stress of football and school so I let it roll this week. Next week he's dead meat.

That was my single thought on Monday as I entered the school. Alone. No my charming boyfriend didn't even have football practice, I checked the schedule. I can't believe him. What the hell was wrong with him. Suddenly two I turned around because I sensed someone looking at me. Xavier was standing there with a wicked smile on his face. Reid was coming up to me with a gloomy look on his face. I looked between the two. "What's wrong Reid?" I asked.

He muttered something under his breath before along the lines of, "Screw it."

He went to Xavier and he did something I wasn't expecting, he punched him square in the nose. "I'm done of your sick blackmailing and mind games! I'm not doing this anymore!" He said as he tackled Xavier to the floor.

He began hitting him rapidly and Xavier got in a few good punches but Reid was not having it. I knew that I would have to separate them if Reid didn't want to go to jail for murder. Pulling Reid back I looked at Xavier and I grabbed him by his collar. "What was he talking about?" I asked.

"What?" He spluttered coughing up blood.

"I said what the fuck did he say?!" I shouted and landed a punch on him that knocked him out cold.

Reid yelled at everyone to screw off and mind there own business and we narrowly escaped the teacher that zoomed in right after we left. Ryder had taken Xavier to the nurse but I think he might have made sure he hit a few corners on the way there. Actually I'm sure of it. Lance and Wiley were no where to be found and I wondered where they were but at this point it didn't really matter.

Reid grabbed my hand and pulled me down the hall and out of the front entrance. The light immediately flooded into my eyes momentarily blinding me. He pulled me like a rag doll and I had to jog to keep up with his pace. Being 5'3 didn't have many perks except for being good at hide and go seek.

When we finally entered his car he let go of my hand and slipped into the drivers side. His eyes were set in stone and his eyes were focused on the road the whole time there. It was an awkward silence and I didn't like that. "Pickles are like cucumber zombies," I blurted out.

He looked at me incredulously for a second, "What?"

"Well you know they are find of like warped and all disfigured and warty so they are kind of like zombies and I'm just going to stop talking now," I said in one breath.

I swear I saw a faint slip of a smile form on Reid's lips. How bad I wanted to kiss them? I. Hadn't. Kissed. Him. For. A. Week.

When he finally pulled up to where he wanted us to be I hadn't even noticed where we were I was too busy staring at his features. His Latino coloured skin and his dark brown eyes that looked like chocolate. His sharp cheek bones and his jaw that was clenched very tightly and his nose that was slightly crooked to the right. He had a few pimples on his hairline and on his nose but it made him a person. Sure he had been acting like an ass and I was mad. But he was mine: I was going to stay with him.

He growled under his breath and quickly pulled me from my seat and set me on his lap. "Novio," he said huskily, "I am so so sorry."

That's all I let him get out because my lips were on his. I always had this burning desire in me to kiss his neck. It was like a passion. We were kissing urgently, like in a panic and we were kissing like each other's lips were oxygen. When he finally came up for a breath I let my lips wander from his jaw down his neck and I started licking and kissing as I made my way down his neck. He groaned and clutched at my hips. When I pulled back to look in his eyes they were almost black. My breath was caught in my throat.

"Okay enough of this I need to know what's going on," I knocked some sense in myself and tried to get off of his lap.

Key word there was tried, he held me against him in a bias grip so I couldn't get away from him. "You haven't called me that in a week," I whispered.

"What?" He retorted.

"I said you haven't called me Novio for a week," I spoke louder this time.

His head dropped. "He had been blackmailing me for four years," he started.

"By doing what exactly?" I questioned tensing up a bit.

"He wanted you," his voice cracked, "He knew that I liked you and he thought that I had a better chance so he made me hurt you by threatening to do horrible things to you. He would take pictures of you in your sleep. He said if I didn't hurt you then he would. So I had to keep you safe. I am so sorry."

I sat there. Life seemed to freeze and my hear stopped for a second like before the big drop of the roller coaster. "What?" I sputtered up.

"Once he found out that you were my girlfriend he went haywire and threatened you again so I was an asshole and it hurt me so much to see you get hurt, Novio," he spoke softly playing with my fingers, "But I realized that I'm going to be here to protect you. With every. Single thing I have left in me."

I attacked his lips with such force even my own self was surprised with. He clutched at me and I scrapped my nails along his biceps and he shivered underneath me. I loved the effect I had on him. When I felt a metallic taste I pulled apart and then I remembered Reid's cut lip. "Oh shit I'm so sorry," I said quickly examining the wound.

He chuckled slightly, "It's okay Novio."

"No it isn't let me see. I'm training to be a nurse anyways so I need to learn," I said quietly.

"A nurse?" He asked and I nodded, "Well damn, I'm going to be wealthy then."

"What?" I asked my heart rate accelerating.

"Nothing," he replied and tried his best at a cheeky smile but he winced.

God knows how he had kissed me this time. "Where are we even?" I asked and for the first time I looked around.

Seeing the gravestones immediately halted my mood and put it back into a sad mood, I really didn't need to see my mom again because I wasn't ready. I was not ready. "It killed me to hurt you," he spoke softly, "That's why I asked all those things about you I wanted to know to get something to make me hate you but it just made me l- like you more."

"Reid," I spoke under my breath.

"C'mon," he said and pulled me onto him then carried me outside of the car with my legs wrapped around his waist.

He sat down on the gravestone and I recognized it as his parents. Tracing the engraved marks of the stone I looked at him lovingly. He gave me a small and sad smile. "I know how it feels," I spoke softly with a small comforting smile.

"They died six years from today," he stated briskly.

"That's why I almost killed Xavier back then when I finally realized that the good things in life, you have to cherish them. You can't throw them away. And I am never letting you go," he said kissed me slowly.

It wasn't fast or urgent but it felt like- love. Oh no. No no no no no. Hold up here I didn't just think that. No I didn't did not happen. The past is in the past.

He laced our fingers together and we sat back in the graveyard, just looking at the stars. Until I had to go to the bathroom. Sighing I went to the public one inside of the graveyard and when I came out I looked around and squinted in the darkness.

I heard a twig snap from behind the treeline and I could only hear my blood roaring in my ears.

DUH DUH DUUUUUHHHH

SO HERE IS THE REASON WHY REID EVER HURT BAYLOR.

ORIGINALLY I WAS GOING TO MAKE XAVIER THE GUY SHE LIKES BECAUSE HE DIDNT HURT HER BUT YOU KNOW THINGS HAPPEN AND I WANTED TO BE A BIT ORIGINAL. NEXT CHAPTER IS A DOOSY SO LOOK OUT!
