VIOLET threw her hair in a ponytail, tugging her shirt down. she was ready to get training on with, the only exciting thing to happen in the whole day. training was her life, she only wished she could go on missions. it wasn't that she wasn't aloud too, but only because she goes on the most important ones. hurleys crew was the elite, the cias most important task force. violet was the only girl, may she mention. a title she was proud of, she's considered herself the strongest as well. violets kicked many of the guys asses, taking them down as quickly as she could. hurley loving every second of it too. of course she was his favorite. hurley trains them all equally but violet just got it, she was so skilled, unlike any women he's seen.
violet walked out of the sleeping quarters, heading for the outdoor training area. her boots scuffed the gravel, she loved training outside. they were so secluded, trees hide them away from the rest of the world. violet was thankful it hadn't rained, the mud there was terrible. hurley didn't care though, he made them train in all kinds of weather. one time violet was training is such harsh rain and wind, her body was red for the next day. she remembered the rain feeling like needles flying into her skin.
finally she made it to the training area, waiting with the rest of the guys. after months of being in hurleys program, she learned to not talk to the guys. they always had something to say, she personally didn't like them. they were all ignorant and unskilled in her opinion. but what does she know? violet looked around, rocking on her heels. the guys made small talk, laughing at something that probably wasn't funny.
"alright! let's get this started." hurleys loud voice fell along the group. he approached them with his hands clapped together. the chatter stopped and all eyes were on him. violet straightened her back, waiting for the instructions. "so today's going to be difficult." hurley said and eyed the group. violet could only imagine what he was going to say. everyday was difficult training, but usually when he announces it's gonna be difficult that meant it was gonna be extra difficult. "we are going to focusing on hand to hand knife combat." violet heard some shuffling feet. she herself didn't like knife combat, only because she usually gets stabbed at least once.
"so i trust everyone brought there own weapons." hurley said. silent nods crossed his vision, violet tapped her leg and made sure her knife was there. the cold metal in its holster hugged her fingers. she nodded her head, looking at hurley. "who wants to go first?" violet was antsy, she desperately wanted to get this over with. she also wanted to see how much she's improved on knife fighting. suddenly her body was pulling her forward. she was in the middle of the circle now, eyes on her. "no surprise." hurley said, waiting for another person to step forward. of course no one did, "ryan." hurley resorts to picking random people. ryan was a thick build, cleanly shaven. he had dirty blonde hair and straight teeth. this should be interesting violet thought.
she turned and nodded at ryan, signaling she was ready. her body tensed as she waited for her partner to make the first move. they usually don't, violet was also impatient. she huffed and lunged at her attacker, dragging him to the ground. the loud slam of his body was heard as she rolled over him, yanking her knife out of its hostler. they don't use fake knifes, hurley insisted on the real deal. bruises and cuts were just a necessity in his program. everyone who enters is expected to become fighting machines.
she held her hand up, knife pointing at ryan's chest. violet saw his eyes widen as she was about to plunge the weapon into his chest. in a swift movement ryan kicked his leg out, hitting violets wrist, causing the knife to fly into the dirt. ryan yanked her neck with his hand, slinging her off of him. violet fell face first into the grass. a sigh escaped her lips. she felt ryan standing over her, ready to attack. she quickly rolled over, seeing ryan slam his knife into the grass she was just laying in. violet had no time to think before she was on her feet, heading for ryan. her goal was to take his weapon seeing as she had no idea where hers landed.
ryan swung his free hand, molding it into a fist for violets face. she quickly ducked, taking her fists to his stomach. a groan from his lips showed violet hit exactly where she wanted. ryan stumbled back in pain, trying to compose himself. violet quickly looked around for a second, she needed her knife. she spotted it finally, making her way over to it. suddenly her feet where being pulled out from under her. her head slammed into the ground again. a cry escaped her lips, she knew she couldn't stop. ryan was ruthless, climbing on top of the girl. violet kicked his face as she stumbled up and yanked his wrist, twisting it hard.
another groan escaped his lips, his eyes squeezing shut. she swung his feet from out from under him, slamming his head into the ground. she stepped on his wrist, the one holding the knife. she leaned to the ground, grabbing her knife, sticking it into its holster on her thigh. ryan's face was still in the dirt and violet wanted to laugh. she quickly let go of his wrist, wanting him to stand up. he did so, face covered in dirt. violet blew a strand out her face before he lunged in her direction, knife swinging. violet quickly pulled his arm, pulling him straight into her. she swung her legs over his arm, flipping herself over. his body flying as well, slamming back into the ground. once he was on his back, violet still had his arm.
she yanked the knife from his hand, throwing it on the ground. victory flew around in her stomach. violet was now sitting with his body in her lap, the two breathing heavy. she yanked his chin up, pulling her knife from her holster. his neck now exposed, she stuck the cool blade on his throat. a loud clap was heard, "and that's how you do it." hurley laughed and made his way towards the two. violet threw ryan's body off of hers, standing quickly. she dusted her jeans and shirt off, catching her breathe. "ultra violet everyone. take five." hurley smiled at violet, patting her on the back. violet cracked a smile, she loved when he called her ultra violet.
in his own way he came up with that nickname for her. it happened about a month after she joined his program. he saw how amazing she was and one day he just started saying ultra violet. it was something special to the two of them. violet not ever having a father in her life, she considered hurley her father figure.
"listen i got something to tell you." hurley said and violet furrowed her eyebrows. she desperately wanted to fix her hair, it was falling out of its ponytail. "there's a new guy coming in." violet snapped her head towards him. she hated when new guys came in. someone new to train, slowing down the process.
"who?" she asked even though hurley couldn't tell her much. he still liked to tell her things like that. he knew how much she hated the guys. "mitch rapp. apparently he's gonna be the best boy out here." violet laughed at that, there was no way. hurley smiled and turned to her, "chances are low of that."
