Act 1: Scene 3
"Just another month, guys!" Miss Hill said, standing on the stage to address all the cast and crew for the show. "We're going to start using our set pieces today, so if you need to text parents to let them you'll be a bit late, please do so now."
No one moved to pull their phone out of their pocket. Most students lived in the apartment complex the school bought for students. It was in town, but it was free for students. Tony and Steve shared an apartment that was next to the one Natasha and Bucky occupied.
So Miss Hill got down to business, "From now on, each rehearsal we will try to run at least half of the show, so I need you all here every day, understood?" There was a chorus of replies. "Now go get into costume."
Everyone ran downstairs to get on their costumes or backstage to get everything in place. Once Tony was changed, he hurried backstage to see Steve.
"Stevie! Do I need to help with anything?"
Steve laughed and turned around to face Tony. He had been prepping one of the bar stool carts that would roll out in the first scene, making sure the wheels were functioning alright and the stools were screwed on tightly.
"No, Tony. Your job is to go out and sing and dance."
"But some of the others are helping."
"Some of the others aren't playing a roll where they will be recognized as a main character if they have to help change sets."
Tony huffed, "Fine. At least let me help you prep some stuff."
Steve stared at him for a moment. Well, Tony is good at fixing things.
"Alright."
They didn't find any issues with any of the set pieces, so they radioed Miss Hill to tell her. Five minutes later, they heard "places" from the radio. Two minutes after everyone was in place, they started the show.

The songs were sung acapella, due to them wanting to keep it at a slower tempo so that the set pieces could be worked with if the crew needed s bit more time. It was interesting to listen to, and Steve loved listening to the songs. He and Tony had been listening to it, nearly non-stop, in their apartment. Both of them knew all the parts and - if they tried - could certainly sing all the songs by heart. And since Steve helped Tony run lines, he knew several of the scenes by heart like the actors that were in them did. It was fun for them, as well. Their afternoons were made fun by singing and dancing around their rooms to the songs.
As the final scene came to an end, Steve took a deep breath. It had been difficult to keep up at times. But they would get it, he was sure. They'd be ready for the performance in a few weeks.
