Y/N's P.O.V

So after having dinner and seeing Justin out I go back up to my room and start going through my dad's old briefcase.

I lay out all his stuff on the floor. The picture of him and that other scientist, his Oscorp badge etc.

I then find his old glasses. So I take off my glasses and put his on instead. I can actually see with them on.

As I go back to the briefcase I start to hear the words my dad said to me the day that he left.

Rick: Be good for your mummy, okay?

Young Y/N: Where are you going?

Rick: There's something I need to do buddy, but I'll be home soon. I promise.

Before I could look more I hear a knock at my door.

Henry: Y/N?

Y/N: Yeah, one sec.

I put all the stuff away, open the door and immediately sit down at my desk.

I then see grandpa come into the room.

Henry: You okay kiddo?

Y/N: Yeah, what's up?

Grandpa then smiles.

Y/N: What is it?

Henry: You look just like your dad with those on. Is it okay if I sit?

Y/N: Yeah.

He comes in and sits on my bed and I turn to face him.

Henry: Listen kiddo, I know it's been rough for you without your dad. I remember how close the two of you were. And I know we don't talk much about him.

Y/N: It's okay grandpa.

Henry: No, it's not okay. I wish I could change it. I wish I could bring him back. But I can't. Believe me, if I could take his place so you could have him back I'd do it in a heart beat.

Grandpa breathes heavily.

Henry: Curt Connors. That's the name of the guy in the picture with your dad. They were partners when your dad worked at Oscorp. 

Y/N: Before he joined S.H.I.E.L.D.

Henry: Exactly. After the night your father died we didn't see him again. He never even called.

Y/N: Thank you for telling me this. In a weird way it feels good to have some type of closure, I guess.

Henry: You're welcome.

Grandpa gets up and starts to leave, but I call to him.

Y/N: Hey grandpa.

He turns back.

Henry: Yeah?

Y/N: You're a pretty great dad. You know that, right?

He smiles at me.

Henry: Thanks kiddo. That means alot. Now, you get some sleep. You've got that school trip in the morning.

Y/N: Yeah. Night grandpa.

Henry: Night kiddo.

After that I get changed and go to bed.

All I know now is that I need to meet this Dr. Curt Connors.

(The next day)

So Justin and I are now on the bus to the field trip to Oscorp.

As we're sitting there I tell Justin about what grandpa told me last night.

Justin: So, your dad worked with Dr. Connors? Wow, that's crazy.

Y/N: I know right.

Justin: So, what are you thinking?

Y/N: I'm thinking if I can talk to Dr. Conners in private then maybe he'll tell me what happened to my dad. Maybe he knows why my dad left that night.

Justin: You really think so?

Y/N: I'm not sure, but I need to know. On way or the other.

Justin: Okay man, I'll help in any way I can.

Y/N: Thanks bro.

(Twenty minutes later) 

Once we're at Oscorp we get shown around and we see that they are working on genetically enhancing spiders, but one is missing.

Though there's still no sign of Dr. Connors.

As I'm taking pictures of them I see Mia come into frame.

Mia: Hey.

I pull my camera down.

Y/N: Hey Mia.

Mia: Did you get new glasses?

Y/N: Oh these. They belonged to my dad. I was helping clear out the basement yesterday and found some of his old stuff. These were his glasses. Do they look stupid on me?

Mia: No, they don't. I think you look cute with them on. I thought then same with your other pair.

I look down to hide the fact I'm blushing.

Y/N: Thanks. Hey, since your here do you mind if I get a picture of you for the year book?

Mia: Yeah, sure.

She goes over to the display of spiders.

Mia: Just don't make me look ugly.

Y/N: I'm pretty sure that's impossible to do.

Third person prospective

As Y/N started to take pictures of Mia he didn't know that a small genetically enhanced spider was making its way down towards Y/N.

Once Y/N was done he and Mia said goodbye and as Y/N was about to leave when the spider landed on his hand and bit him.

Y/N: Ahhh!

Y/N's P.O.V

After feeling a sharp pain in my hand I look down to see a spider fall to the ground and crawl away.

Y/N: What the fuck?

Justin: Hey Y/N. Come on man.

I look up and see Justin standing there.

Y/N: Yeah, I'm coming.

I go over and join him.

(Four hours later)

I've just gotten home and I feel awful. I think it might have been that spider bite.

I walk into the house. I go into the living room and mum sees me.

Vanessa: Oh Y/N. Are you okay? You're really pale.

She then puts her hand on my head.

Vanessa: And you're burning up.

Y/N: Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just not feeling too good. I'll probably skip dinner tonight. I just wanna sleep.

Vanessa: Okay well, drink some water and take some tablets.

I nod and go to the kitchen.

Once I've done that I go back to my room and immediately get into my bed to crash out.

I immediately black out and have a really strange dream about spiders.
