Needles
(Okay, so I first apologize for not updating for a while. I got caught up with school, my new story, anime, blah blah blah. You probably don't give a shit and just want another damn chapter. Well, I thought I could make a more funny chapter today. So with that in mind, here we go!"
Gabby's POV
"Noooo! You can't make me go!" I yelled, gripping onto the door knob. My werewolf boyfriend had a grip on my shoulders and was trying to pull me into the car. (Also I know in these stories I make Ulric seem its normal to be a werewolf. That's normal to every other human.......yeah I have no good explanation for that, nor do I plan to do one. Just roll with it.) "Gabby, you know very well you haven't went to the doctor's for a check up in years. You need to go!" Ulric stated.
"But I don't care about the other stuff! I just don't want a shot!" I stated. I've always hated shots. They were so scary, even if I was eighteen now. The doorknob slipped from my hands and I crashed in his arms. "Please don't make me go! I don't wanna a shot! It'll hurt I know it will! Even worse they'll give me two of them!" I cried. Ulric dragged me to the car as I struggled to break free from his grip.
"That's your own fault for not going in forever." he stated. I stopped struggling. "Ulric I'm scared......" I said weakly, small tears in my eyes. Ulric looked at me and his expression softened. Then he pulled me into a hug. I froze, surprised. "I know they're scary sweetheart. But I promise it won't take long. Its really not as bad as it seems." he said. I frowned. I haven't had a shot in a long time.
He pulled back for a moment and cupped my cheek. "And I'll stay with you while they do them. Okay?" he asked. I wiped my eyes and nodded. "Okay....." she said. Ulric smiled. "We can go out for lunch or a movie or something like that afterwards. How does that sound?" he said. I looked at him and smiled. "Yeah...sounds good." she said. "Good. Then let's go." he said. He opened the car door for me and I hesitantly went in.
He closed the door, went in the front seat, and started to drive. I felt butterflies in my stomach, and my hands were trembling nonstop. Were the shots gonna be big? Which arm would they do them? Or would they do one on each arm?! My own thoughts were starting to frighten me. Let's see, how bad would it be if I opened the door and tried to make a break for it? But my heart almost stopped when Ulric pulled into the clinic. He got out of the car. "Come on Gabby, let's go." he said.
I didn't move. He walked around to my side. I locked the door. Ulric tried to open it but failed. He sighed. "Gabby come on, I thought we talked about this already." he said. I smiled at my victory. He won't get in now. Ulric simply took out his keys, unlocked the door, and opened it. I stared at him blankly. "Did you forget I have the keys?" he said. He took my hand and pulled me out of the car.
I decided not to resist anymore and just let him lead me inside the clinic.
Ulric's POV
I led Gabby inside the clinic and had her sit down in one of the waiting chairs. Then I went over to the front counter. "Hi, I'm here for Gabby McLay, the one o'clock appointment." I said. The lady behind the counter typed some things on her computer and smiled. "Yep, got ya right here." she said. "Thank you." I said. I sat in the chair next to Gabby. She kept her gaze to the ground, her hands were trembling, and her eyes were full of fear.
I smiled and held one of her hands. "Baby its alright, it won't be that bad. I promise." I said softly. Gabby only gave a small nod. In a few minutes the doctor stepped out and smiled at us. "Gabby McLay." he called. Gabby froze and her eyes widened. I had us stand up. "Right here." I said. Gabby hid behind me and trembled. "This way please." the doctor said. We went down the hall, Gabby clinging close behind me.
We got to the doctor's office and he looked at us. "Gabby, can you please sit on the bed please." he said. Gabby looked at me unsure and I nodded. She slowly sat down on the bed. The doctor got some tools out on a cart. He did what any doctor would do in a check up, check the heartbeat, the mouth, her reflexes, and etc. When he was done he smiled. "Very good Gabby, you seem very healthy. Now we just need to do the vaccines." he said.
He got out two syringes and smiled. Gabby's eyes widened and she hopped off the bed and hid behind me. The doctor looked at her surprised. "No I don't want to...." Gabby said. "Gabby.....(sigh), I apologize doctor. She....isn't the biggest fan of shots." I said. The doctor smiled. "Ah, I see." he said. I looked at Gabby. "Come on Gabby, the sooner we do this the sooner it'll be over." I said. Gabby shook her head. "I don't want to." she said weakly.
I kissed the top of her head and rubbed her back. "Gabby please." I said softly. Gabby looked at me with teary eyes. I guided her back to the bed and sat her down. She hugged my arm and whimpered. "Please don't make me....." she pleaded, small tears streaming down her cheeks. The doctor smiled. "Gabby I assure you, you'll barely feel a thing. I promise." he said. Gabby looked at him unsure. I held her hand. "I'll be right here." I said. Gabby wiped her eyes and nodded. I nodded at the doctor.
He went over to us and cleaned Gabby's arm. She shut her eyes tight and squeezed my hand. I squeezed back. The doctor gave her the shot and she winced. Then he pulled it out and smiled. "There, done with the first one." he said. Gabby opened her eyes and blinked. She watched as he put a band aid on her arm and tilted her head. "Thats it?" she asked. The doctor nodded. He cleaned her other arm. This time she watched closely as the needle entered her skin. When her pulled it out she smiled.
"I barely felt a thing." she said. I smiled. The doctor put a band aid on her other arm and smiled. "See? Not so bad is it?" he said. "I guess not." she said. We thanked him and left the clinic. When we got into the car she sighed in relief. "That was way easier then I remembered as kid." she said. Gabby gave me a guilty look. "I'm sorry I made such a big deal about it." she said. I rubbed her head. "Its okay. Everyone has their own fear. Sooner or later though everyone has to face them too." I said. I started the car.
"So I promised we would go somewhere fun afterwards. Where would you like to go?"I asked. "I wanna see the new IT movie! The one with the scary clown!" she said. My eyes widened. "C-clown?" I stuttered.
Great, now I gotta deal with my fear.
