contrary to so many wacky feminists ive seen, makeup isnt anti-woman or misogynistic.

i personally dont like it myself, but guess what? fancysnake is not the sovereign authority on all matters ever. some people actually like makeup, and some people use it as a form of art or self expression. and? more power to them.

the only problem with makeup is when the companies brainwash young girls into think that without makeup, theyre ugly. diminishing their self esteem so they buy their products. that's wrong. disgusting. telling people "if you wore makeup youd be pretty" is bad bad bad. acting like makeup is something every woman must use eventually. also wrong. "i must use makeup so people like me" is also unhealthy

so it's really about the mindset. if youre chill with your appearance, but makeup makes you feel good and empowered and let's you express yourself, its great! but, if youre bathing in self loathing and feel like you have to use it, then that's where it's bad. work on your self esteem first.
