Gajeel's POV

I sigh as everyone looks at me shocked, except Juvia. I squat down to Kari's height as she stops in front of me.

"What are ya doing here Squirt? I thought I told ya not to leave the house."

She just giggles and kiss my cheek. I grumble as I look at everyone.

"What," I snapped as Master walks over.

"And who is this?"

"Kari," I say as she smiles at Makarov.

I hand him the letter that I keep in my jacket pocket. He looks at me confused.

"This explains everything."

Master Makarov reads it and nods his head.

"You should tell the rest of the Guild. They may not trust you, but they should know. And we can watch over her while you are on a job."

"Juvia usually did that for the two weeks I had her before José told me to attack the Guild Hall," I tell Makarov.

"Alright. LISTEN UP BRATS! Gajeel is going to explain this, and Juvia can confirm that this is real."

Levy's POV

I listen to Gajeel as he gives us a brief overview of the situation with Kari. I read the note that Master handed me. After Gajeel finish the short story, people started asking him questions. While that is happening, Kari is waddling around the Guild.

"How old is Kari," someone shouts.

"A year old. Don't ask me how she can walk and say that one word. I don't know," Gajeel says.

"She's so cute," Mira says as she picks her up. "So what is her last name? Does she have José's last name?"

"No. The letter that Shrimp is holding, told me to give her my last name," Gajeel says as I show the Letter to Mira.

"Ok. We should throw a party! And give her a middle name!"

"Her name is fine," Gajeel grumbles as he sits down at a table.

Suddenly, Natsu barges through the door with Lucy, Gray, Happy, and Erza behind him.

"I'm back!!"

Kari looks at Natsu and giggles.

"Ink! Ink," Kari says as she points at Natsu's hair. "Ink!"

"It's Salmon!!!! And who is she?!"

"It's Pink Kari," Mira tells her.

Kari giggles. Master explains everything to Natsu and his friends. The look at Gajeel in shock.

Gajeel's POV

I sit at a table as I watch Kari interact with everyone at the Guild. I wanted to at least keep her a secret for longer...but somethings don't turn out my way. I look up to see Shrimp walk over to me.

"Of you need any help, I can help you. I use to babysit when I was 13," she tells me. "And it looks like Kari is getting along with everyone."

"Yer right Shrimp. Though it would have been nice to keep Pumpkin a secret for a bit longer."

"Pumpkin? And why are you calling me a Shrimp?"

"I gave Kari the nickname of Punpkin and yer tiny. Like a little Shrimp."

"I'm not that small!!! You're just too tall," Levy says.

"GeeHee," I say as Kari waddles up to me. "Ya ready ya go home?"

Kari yawns and nods her head. I pick her up and she snuggles into my chest. Everyone 'awes' as I send them death glares. People smirk or giggle as I leave and head home.

Levy's POV

I watch Gajeel leave the Guild with Kari.

"Who knew he had a soft spot," Natsu says.

"Everyone have a soft spot," Mira tells him. "Some people just hide theirs."

"And why is that?"

"Eveyone can have a different reason," I say as they look at me. "It can be to protect the ones they hold dear, to protect themselves, to try and be accepted into a group," I say as I start to list different reasons. "Or maybe they grew up hiding it. That they are use to not showing their soft spot or emotions."

"That are good and different reasons Levy. I think the last one fits Gajeel," Mira tells me.

"I better head home. See you tomorrow," I say as I leave the Guild with my book and head back to Fairy Hill.
