I flee my home with my year old baby girl. I run through Oaktown. The Guild, Phantom Lord, wants my daughter. I know I can't run outrun then forever, I just need to get her somewhere safe. I soon stop in front of a house. I place my baby onto the front step and kiss her forehead as she sleep peacefully. I ring the doorbell and hurry away. A tear falls down face as I vanish into the shadows.

Gajeel's POV

I groan as I hear my doorbell go off. I get off of my couch and open the door. I look around and see no one. I am about to close the door when I hear the small cries of a baby. I look down to see a bundle of blanket. I nearly fall backwards when I see the baby girl in the bundle of dark violet blankets. I look around and then decide to get Rain Woman's help with her. I put my cloths on and hides her in my jacket as I go to where Juvia lives. I get there and bangs on the door.

"Rain Woman! Open up!"

The door opens up to reveal Rain Woman standing there in her pajamas.

"Gajeel-Kun. Why did you visit Juvia," she ask as I walk in and close the door.

"I need yer help," I say as I place the baby onto her couch. "Someone places her on my steps. And I need yer help taking care of her. I don't know one thing about babies and we can't tell anyone."

Juvia looks over and pulls a folded up paper from the bundle. She hands it to me as I unfold it and reads the letter.

Dear owner of the house that found my daughter,

I am sorry for putter her as a burden onto you, but I cannot take care of her. I am being chased by people who want to harm her. You must keep her safe and away from José from Phantom Lord. He may be her father, but he would take control of her life and make her grow up into the perfect weapon. I do not wish this for her. Please keep her away from him.

I look at it confused as I read the bottom.

I hand Juvia the letter as he hands me the baby. She opens her eyes and giggle as she gently pulls on my raven hair. I smile softly at her. Her hair is a soft brown color and her eyes are magenta.

"What will Gajeel-Kun do with Kari?"

"I'm gonna need yer help with growing her up," I tell Juvia. "I'm gonna raise her."

"Does Gajeel-Kun think that is smart?"

"I'm not gonna let José control her life. I'm gonna let her choose her magic and what she is gonna do," I tell Juvia.

"Juvia agrees. Will Juvia watch Kari when Gajeel-Kun is on a job?"

"Yup. When she is old enough we will tell her that she is adopted."

"Juvia agree," Juvia tells me.

"I have ta go. Can ya keep her here for tonight?"

"Juvia would be honored. Juvia is happy that Gajeel-Kun came to his friend."

"Yeah yeah. I'm gonna go," I say as I leave Kari and Juvia. "I'm gonna be back tomorrow before I go to the Guild."

I leave and close the door as I quickly and quietly head back towards my home. I get into my house and close the door. I sigh as I get back into my sweatpants and climb to bed. I close my eyes and fall asleep.

(TIME SKIP TO LE MORNING)

I open my eyes and yawn. I stuff some Iron into my mouth and get into some clothing. I head over to Rain Woman's house, and it's a good thing no one saw me. I knock on the door as Juvia opens the door. I come in as she close it behind me.

"Kari is sleeping. Juvia was able to feed her and she is fine."

"Good. How can we keep her a secret," I ask.

"Juvia doesn't know."

I sigh as I go to where Kari is. Juvia surrounded her with blankets and pillows to keep her safe. I sit down next to her as I watch Kari sleep. How can I keep her safe from her father?
