Chapter#9
Jennifer fell on the bed.
Her shoulders shook with the silent sobs. He didn't just stomped on to her self respect but her pure feelings too.
Jonathan was without a single ounce of doubt the most cruel and hard hearted person she had met . .probably more than her own mother. .a sudden burst of emotion had her eyes turned red. .she had made up her mind the instant she walked out of his room.
Her life had been pathetic from the start. Mother dumped her for a wealthy person. . Jonathan sneered at her like she was the most disgusting thing to ever exist.
With cold calculation, she knew it was time to put end to this. . whatever it was. The burn . .the hurt. . everything .
Why tolerate it when she could halt it? Forever. .
She sat up straight and with empty eyes she poured a glass of water on the side table and opened the drawer . . knowing well Daisy had gotten a bottle of sleeping pills from Jonathan's room for a killer headache.
Jennifer took out the bottle of sleeping pills and with a heart as cruel as Jonathan's she emptied the bottle on her palm and the next second she swallowed it with water.
Yes, she chose death.
A certain solution to her life.
Death would be gentle to her, she was tired. .so damn tired. .
She knew no one would come this late at night in the room. With a satisfied smile, she laid back on the bed.
Waiting.
But the silence of the room crashed with the vibration of her phone laying right beside her.
Glancing at it , she saw the name.
Daisy calling.
What was the harm in talking to her for the last time? She was closer than a sister , knowing well what haunted her.
Jennifer picked up the cell.
"Jennifer!" Her happy voice made her realize how lucky she was to hear her voice before death came at her.
"Daisy, i-i miss you." before Jennifer knew , her voice broke . .
Alerting Daisy.
"Jen?! Is everything okay? Are you. . crying?!"
The pressure had started to build around her windpipe . .as if someone was slowly pressing at her neck.
"Its—its just that I miss you and I'm ," she tried to take a lung full of breath , "I'm sorry. ."
Daisy's heart turned cold as she heard her going breathless with each second.
"Jennifer!" Daisy's voice rang with alarm. "Stay with me! You heard me?! Jennifer!"
Jennifer tried to say yes but her eyelids had started to go heavy. .so heavy she couldn't lift them up. .she tried to move her lips but no words came out. .it was that exact moment she knew death had arrived at her door.
It was waiting.
Her entire body convulsed as she tried to bring in oxygen to her lungs . .and the horror of it hit her . .death was cruel. It was as unforgiving as the man who broke her.
She had been cruel to herself why would death show mercy?
Daisy's voice floated from a far away land as the cell slipped from her hand. .and Daisy's yelling filled up the air. .still entering her foggy brain.
Darkness fell all around her.

He had changed and was laying on bed but sleep avoided him. He stared at the ceiling for a few seconds but that too didn't help him much. .sighing, he sat up straight and opened the first drawer of the side table. . looking for his sleeping pills but. .it was nowhere.
How the hell was he going to sleep now?!
Cursing , he laid back again and crushed the pillow between his arms . Shutting his eyes , he tried to sleep but then suddenly her eyes appeared on the blank canvas. .eyes that held so much. .her breathless body. .the scent of her hair still stuck to his chest. .
Opening his eyes , he tried to shake that image of off his mind. Involuntary , he lifted his palm up noticing the skin still red from her bite.
Angry at the second reminder of her , he sat up and grabbed the bottle of water laying on the side table.
He gulped down the water but his heart seemed to be on fire tonight. . nothing was helping. There was just something making him so restless . .so anxious. .
Putting the empty bottle back , he got out of the bed and room. He had no idea why but his heart was warning him of something wrong. . something irreversible. .
Dad had been angry at his refusal . . disappointed. Maybe that's why he didn't feel good. .yeah maybe that's why.
In the middle of the night , he was standing outside his father's room. With heart rate spiking up, he turned the handle of his room and stepped in. . immediately noticing him leaning against the bed crown. .his eyes shut. .
"Dad?" He called softly.
Mark's eyes opened up.
His heart fell into a pit seeing a clear sheen over his aged eyes. So he got hurt but so was Jonathan. .
He nearly rushed towards his father and sit down over his knees right beside his bed. .his large hand taking his father's hand in his.
"I'm sorry for disappointing you." He meant it. "I'm . . sorry."
Mark smiled weakly at his oldest son , feeling unconditional love for him.
"Don't be. I'm fine . You're fine ." Mark gripped at his hand.
"You sure?"
Mark nodded. "I can't force you—,"
But his words were cut off with his cell phone wailing.
Seeing his attention divert towards the cell , he stood up. Shoving his hands in his jean's pocket he got up to leave but the sudden lines of worry on Mark's face made him halt.
"Daisy—what?—are you sure? Okay okay! Don't cry! I'm checking in on her right now." He voice rose as he got out of the bed.
"Dad? What is it? Why is Daisy calling—,"
"She said Jennifer sounded funny on the call and there's something wrong. You go ahead and sleep . I'll check on her." Mark said in a rushed manner as if reminding him he didn't have to worry about her at all.
Jonathan's fingertips turned cold.
Mark went out if the room.
Leaving a stoned Jonathan behind.
A storm brewed inside him and he moved towards the door , nearly running after Mark who was climbing the stairs in haste.
Knowing well why he felt restless the entire night. .
