✧19. The Cemetery & Last Words✧

A few more tears escaped through his wet eyes again as he squeezed Hoseok's palm. Yoongi was sitting there crying from last night without moving.

"I am sorry...sorry Hobie...so please wake up...I..."

As some drops of his saltwater fell on the wrist of Hoseok, he showed a movement in his hand and started opening his eyes slightly.

Yoongi's eyes widened seeing him wake up. He harshly rubbed his tears and pressed the button to call the doctor.

"Hobie..." Yoongi called, his voice dry.

Hoseok adjusted his eyes to the brightness in the room as he glanced at the elder who was looking haggard with swollen red puffy eyes.

"S-Sir..." Hoseok frowned seeing him in such a state.

Jong-Suk entered the room and saw them both.

"Hobie is the patient so why are you looking like one, Yoongi-shi?"

He tried to brighten the mood as he checked upon Hoseok.

Yoongi pursed his lips and said nothing.

"Everything is fine. You can go home, but remember not to be stressed and take plenty of rest, okay Hobie?"

Hoseok nodded his head but his eyes were lingering on Yoongi's face.

Seeing that the both of them weren't going to talk with him Jong-Suk left the room to give them some privacy.

As soon as the door closed Yoongi immediately hugged Hoseok with tears in his eyes.

"I am sorry...I am sorry for saying such awful things to you ...Hobie...I am really sorry. I didn't mean to...I took out my anger on someone else on you last night...I am sorry..."

He apologized and Hoseok was in shock seeing his boss like that. In trance, he patted Yoongi's back.

After an hour Hoseok was feeling much better and Yoongi took care of everything related to discharge.

They were now in the car and the two of them had so many thoughts wandering bizarrely through their minds but they kept quiet.

Hoseok noticed it wasn't the way to either their company or the mansion yet he stayed silent looking outside the window.

He didn't understand why Yoongi cried like that when he woke up... and apologized for his last night's behavior. Then does that mean his boss was feeling guilty for turning him down so cruelly?

So...what is their relationship status now? Was Yoongi accepting his feelings and willing to give him a chance or...

Hoseok sighed not wanting to build up expectations again only to be yeeted down to the ground. The car stopped.

They both got out of the car and Yoongi took Hoseok's hand as he guided him inside the Seoul Memorial Park.

It was a park with a cemetery on the left side and a columbarium on the right side.

Hoseok was baffled as to why Yoongi brought him there.

Yoongi purchased a bouquet of white lilies from Ajhumma there. He intertwined their fingers and dragged Hoseok towards the cemetery first.

There he stopped at a particular grave which was at a different height from the other graves and one could see the scenery of Seoul from there.

Yoongi put the flowers on the gravestone and prayed. Noticing the nameplate on the grave Hoseok kneeled in front of the grave and started praying.

It was the grave of Yoongi's mother, Mrs. Min.

"I... never hated you for bullying me," Yoongi spoke.

Hoseok looked up in shock,

>>>What?

"But the day when you locked me in the locker room," Yoongi gazed at the Younger as tightened his fist,

"That day... she was on her deathbed."

Yoongi pointed at his mother's grave and continued.

"Father said she wanted to see me for the last time and wanted to tell me something but her last wish wasn't fulfilled. She died waiting for me and by the time I got there my family was preparing for her funeral."

Hoseok's heart thundered hearing it. He knew Yoongi's voice was sounding calm but the pain in those words he could sense them.

"That was the day I pledged myself that I would pay you back tenfold," Yoongi sighed.

Hoseok looked down at his feet as tears brimmed in his eyes. He knew the pain as he went through it when his mother was dead and he couldn't even give her a proper funeral and say his last goodbyes to her as he was locked up by his relatives.

"But now...I don't want any revenge anymore...Hobie," Yoongi crouched down placing his hand on the Younger's shoulder.

Hoseok looked straight into his eyes with his teary ones, "Why?"

"It's enough... When I thought of getting revenge on you I had this thought that I have to make sure you feel the same pain I went through that day. But Hobie... don't you already know that pain?"

Hoseok paused for a second. Then he understood that Yoongi learnt about his past. He choked on his tears as he nodded and hugged Yoongi who rubbed his back.

"That's why there is no need for me to get revenge on you anymore and..."

Yoongi paused as he broke the hug and cupped the Younger's face in his palms.

"... Eomma would kill me if I hurt the one I love anymore, right Eomma?" Yoongi smiled through tears.

The branches of the tree beside Mrs. Min's grave waved in the air, and the light pink blossoms of that tree fell on both of them.

"See...she agreed," Yoongi showed off his gummy smile.

They both stayed still in each other's embrace for some time before going to the columbarium.

"Where is your mother placed here?" Yoongi asked quietly.

Hoseok grabbed his hand and took him where Mrs. Jung's urn of ashes, her photo, and some things of hers were placed on a shelf in a corner.

Yoongi took a bunch of lilies that he had taken out of the bouquet earlier placed them in the empty flower vase on that shelf and prayed.

Hoseok got emotional as it had been so long since he visited her. He cried remembering her.

She was mute from her birth but she was a cheerful lady and was as bright as the sun. Yoongi noticed that Hoseok looked just like her mother.

>>>Will he look as bright as her when he smiles?

After some time, Yoongi took Hoseok to another side where his mother's things were placed as she was buried not cremated there was no urn of her but a photo and some of her valuable things in remembrance of her.

But Hoseok was shocked to see her photo.

"S-She...she is your mother?"

"Yes, why? Do you know her?" Yoongi questioned.

Hoseok nodded as tears welled up again in his eyes,

"S-She...she is my friend... we used to meet in the veterinary hospital. Han Byul Ajhumma..."

"At the veterinary hospital?" Yoongi paused for a second as realization hit him, "Are you the owner of Woofie?"

"Woofie, right how is he? I gave Woofie to Han Byul-shi as I left for summer vacation. She told me she would take care of him. But after I came back so many things happened and I forgot about him."

Hoseok became nostalgic as he remembered his pet dog and continued,

"Then one day she called me anxiously that Woofie was sick and she took him to the hospital so I went there... but I couldn't meet her and Woofie as I got call that my parents got into an accident..."

Hoseok paused as he realized something.

"In a way, she was the one who saved me from that accident. Otherwise, who would have known what happened to me? If I was dead that day along with my Eomma then what would have happened to Appa? No one would be there to take care of him and he would have..."

Hoseok pursed his lips just thinking about it. Their relatives would have succeeded in their vicious plan and would have enjoyed all their wealth after their death.

He and his Father wouldn't have been alive if not for Yoongi's mother's call that day.

"Is Woofie okay...or ..." Hoseok hesitated to ask not wanting to hear the tragic news of his pet dog.

Yoongi took out his phone and showed the pic of the corgi dog which was cuddling an orange cat.

"Ah, Neko is also with him," Hoseok smiled seeing the Yoongi's mother's cat.

"...Appa told me that one day Eomma brought Woofie along with Neko home suddenly and then she spent her days with Woofie and Neko before her death. I kept both of them at my Villa as I didn't have time to look after them."

Suddenly Hoseok remembered something,

"Wait, then you are Han Byul-shi's son..."

"Yes, of course. I am her one and only son."

Yoongi huffed feeling a little offended by the question.

He fished out his phone from his pocket and started searching for something in his gallery.

"What are you looking for?" Yoongi frowned.

"We always took selfies or made some videos whenever we met. And one time ..."

Hoseok started a video in which Min Han Byul - Yoongi's mother and Hoseok were talking when the camera stopped on her and she,

"I am telling you, my son is such a grumpy cat. He is even grumpier than our Neko. I always worry that he will become a grumpy grandpa at this rate. My lifelong wish is that I want my son to find someone who will make him show his cute gummy smile. You know Hobie, my son used to smile a lot when he was younger but then he became big and no longer smiles. Do you know I am a fan of his smile but that little brat now became emotionless. He is far from me studying somewhere all alone but I want him to come home cause it doesn't matter, I just miss him so much. If I ever am on deathbed-"

"Ajhumma why are you talking about death?" Hoseok whined cutting her off.

Han Byul smiled and stroked Hoseok's head, "Hah...I am just saying if I was ever on the deathbed, I only wanted to say one thing to my precious son..."

She looked at the camera as if she was talking to Yoongi directly,

"I love you so much, Yoonie, I am so proud of you my son. You are the best son I would ever ask for. In my next life, I will become your daughter and show you hell!"

Han Byul winked showing her tongue which made Yoongi cry. He was wiping his tears as the video then turned into a black screen but they could still hear their voices.

"Hah...only if he was here I would have made you both meet each other. Hobie tell me, will you marry my son and become my son-in-law?" Han Byul was asking.

"Only if he has your looks!" Hoseok replied, laughing.

"Of course, he got my genes. I am not telling you this because he is my son but he is super handsome!" Han Byul stated proudly.

"Yes, yes. Then I will marry your son and let's make Woofie marry Neko too and hold our both marriages together," Hoseok's jovial voice was heard.

"Aiyya! Neko will torture Woofie at that rate!"

The video came to an end with both of their happy laughter.

Yoongi immediately hugged Hoseok, "Thank you ...Hobie..."

He said it sincerely as it came from his heart. Even though Yoongi had fallen for Hoseok long ago the only thing that stopped him from accepting his feelings and tormenting him was that...

Because of Hoseok, he couldn't meet his mother who was on her deathbed, and hear her last words.

But now because of Hoseok, he could listen to her last wishes. At that moment, Yoongi finally accepted his feelings for Hoseok and realized just how much he loved the Younger and that he could no longer live without him.

Hoseok smiled through tears as he too hugged him back thinking that at least he was able to remove the remorse Yoongi had in his heart.
