story one part four.
"You're right... It wasn't Josh that took Jess. Josh could never be that thing." Mike agreed. "Someone should stay here with Courtney just in case she wakes up and doesn't fall asleep again immediately." Me and Sam looked at eachother.
"I'll stay." I sighed. "If anything bad happens over where you are at least you're both probably not going to die."
"Probably not. Veeeery reassuring."
"Oh shut up. You guys are more capable than me that's for sure." I rolled my eyes at Mike. "Anyway's you guys should probably start heading to wherever now."
"Good point. We shouldn't be wasting time. The others could be in trouble." Sam and Mike headed off. I sat on the floor next to Courtney's chair. It wasn't hers obviously... Its just the one she was sitting on. I started singing quietly to myself.
"Mortal kings are ruling castles...Welcome to my world of fun... Liars settle into sockets flip the switch and watch them run...." I'd been waiting for at least ten minutes before Courtney started to wake up. She wasn't fully awake when I heard a loud screech. "Oh shit shit shit shit" I shook Courtney trying to wake her up. "Oh god we're gonna die out here unless...." Courtney wasn't binded.... "I could.... Drag her. Or carry her. I'm strong enough." I picked her up, bridal style. It was the only way i could think of. Once i was sure we were far enough away and she was awake enough i set her down. We were outside now. "Are you okay? Can you hear me?" I asked.
"Y-Yeah.... Oh god my head is killing me. What happened? The last thing i remember is you telling me to run, falling unconscious and me realising this is all Josh." Courtney clutched her head.
"There's something MUCH bigger going on. I have a feeling this is revenge for his sisters. But there's a monster that's definitely not Josh. Maybe more than one. Can you walk? Run?"
"I don't think so. You'll probably have to carry me again. But what kind of monste- Oh. That." Courtney looked at something behind me, pure terror not in her expression, but her eyes. I looked behind us. There was a snarling.... Thing up in a tree. Couldn't see it properly. Broken glasses and all.
"Stay completely still." I guessed it's vision was through movement as after a while it went away. I had ended up in a really awkward position over Courtney and the entire time i prayed it didn't have infrared vision because i was blushing more than i ever had before, meaning i was freaking boiling. "Oh no" my hands were sweaty as all hell and i slipped, falling onto Courtney. I could hear Courtney laughing at me. I pushed myself up. "Shit. What did i fall on?"
"Good question. I was too busy laughing at you to notice." Courtney giggled.
"I bet. We should probably get out of here now. That thing might come back. You feeling better yet?" I ignored the pain that shot through my body as i stood up properly.
"Yep. I feel MUCH better." She got up wincing slightly. "Okay not so much better now. God that hurt."
"You sure you're okay to wa-" I'm clumsy. Really clumsy. Especially when i walk. So i fell. Right on the grass. (I'd managed to make it out of the basement thing). "FUCK!" I yelled into the snow. I just lay there. I couldn't be bothered to get up. "God fucking dammit." I could just hear Courtney laughing at me again. I stayed there for a little while longer before my face started to get super cold. I got up.
"Are you okay?" Courtney was still laughing at me.
"Yeah I'm fi- FUCK!" I fell again. "I can't even be bothered to get up. I'm staying here." Courtney was probably crying tears of laughter. After a few minutes she tried to pick me up.
"Cmon we have to go! Save people!" She tried her hardest to lift me to my feet.
"Okay I'll get up." I laughed. I pushed myself up once again.
"Do you need to lean on me or something?" Courtney was in endless fits of laughter.
"No, i think I'll be fine." We walked through the forest, heading towards the huge house we could see over the trees. "I keep forgetting i can't see." I stated for literally no reason.
"Why can't you see?"
"My glasses broke. Or at least they're missing." I sighed. "I think i needed new ones anyway so it doesn't matter."
"But it DOES matter. You won't be able to see until we get back and you have new frames and stuff."
"Maybe so...." We were silent for about 15 minutes. Then there was another screech. It sounded rather far away. Courtney grabbed my hand.
"I'm scared..."
"Don't worry. You'll be fine. I promise." I squeezed her hand. We carried on walking, hand in hand. This would've been an odd sight for most who knew her. The one they thought was brave and would take on anything, scared out of her mind. I found this quite normal. I experience the same feeling a lot. Usually in the night. I have paranoia and a overactive imagination. It is not a good combo. I lie awake at night scared i saw something that my imagination conjured up. I spend many nights lying in bed in complete utter terror. A few minutes passed. Then more. And more. Before we knew it we'd reached the lodge. It was on fire. Everyone seemed fine. Courtney saw Sam, and ran off to go hug her. I couldn't see Jessica anywhere. "Where is sh-" Excruciating pain shot throughout my body. I looked down to see a hand. "Oh my god." I started shaking. "Shit..." The hand recoiled, leaving a gaping hole in my stomach. "Guys... Look ou-"
