Men aren't all created equal, and I learned that lesson early. My name is Izuku Midoriya, or Deku, as my tormentors called me. That name stings, especially coming from Katsuki Bakugo, my ex-best friend. The laughter that accompanied it cut deep. He is the main tormentor in my life, and every time I hear "Deku," I feel like a nobody.

But that all changed after school on the last day, when everything I thought I knew shifted. I was just saved from a villain attack by my idol, All Might. I wanted to ask him something important—could a quirkless person like me ever become a hero? Instead, he said, "No, I don't believe someone quirkless can become a hero." My heart shattered.

In that moment, I felt more alone than ever. My classmates, my teacher, and even my own mother didn't believe in my dream. I had just faced the harsh words of my tormentors, and now this? I was drowning in despair, unable to find a way out. I walked away in a daze, my phone vibrating in my pocket. It was a message from Mom, checking in on me. Why did she care? I was just a quirkless nobody.

But I shook my head, trying to dispel those thoughts. What about all the training? The countless hours spent studying hero strategies? The notebooks filled with my observations? I wasn't going to let anyone dictate my worth! I was determined to become the first quirkless hero, to prove everyone wrong. I'll do it in spite so no one can come around and tell me I can't become a hero!

A flicker of hope ignited within me. I would rise from the ashes, stronger than before.
